Just Engaged, the Abandoned Comeback System Arrived

Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Second Rejection, Three-Star Linked Beads

”You let an outsider into our home and affected the relationship between your second sister and me. I haven’t even settled that score with you yet,” Lu Yuan said, turning his head. ”Besides, as my future brother-in-law, when your second sister and I are sharing a sweet moment, you should have the tact to make yourself scarce instead of interrupting us.”

”I... you...” Lin Siheng was tongue-tied.

Could he really have stopped Mu Lingyan from coming to the house? Was it his fault for initiating a conversation? He honestly couldn’t understand what was so fun about boys and girls being together. Talking, holding hands... It all looked so awkward and uncomfortable.

”You forsake your friends for women! You’re completely blinded by lust! Let’s see who will play with you in the future!” Lin Siheng snorted coldly, turning around to leave.

”Come back here!” Lu Yuan hastily called out to stop him. If Lin Siheng went back, Lin Siyao would have to go back too.

”Hehe, I knew it.” Lin Siheng smiled smugly. ”Fight me! I’ve become even stronger.”

”Alright, bring it on.” Lu Yuan let go of Lin Siyao’s hand.

He intended to squeeze out some more experience points today. Using the Tyrant Fist to temper his bones wasn’t a bad idea either. It was just a pity that no system mission had refreshed, meaning there would be no experience point rewards.

”BANG! BANG!”

”BANG! BANG!”

The older teen and the younger boy quickly engaged in combat. Lin Siheng attacked with all his might, fully displaying the might of a little tyrant. Lu Yuan defended effortlessly, entirely in control of the situation. He retracted his Gang Qi and took the blows head-on using only his physical flesh and bones.

Lin Siyao’s gaze flickered. She could see that something was amiss, especially since she knew Lu Yuan’s true strength. This specific combat method... She observed for quite a while before it finally dawned on her. Brother Yuan was using the force of the Tyrant Fist to temper his bones!

She didn’t feel the slightest bit of joy; instead, her heart ached for him. This method inevitably entailed immense suffering, and injuries were practically unavoidable. It was incredibly dangerous. And all of this was likely because he had been provoked by Mu Lingyan’s words just now...

”Awesome! So awesome! Haha! Again!” Lin Siheng was overjoyed, fighting to his heart’s content.

He had never experienced such a satisfying brawl. Every punch met Lu Yuan’s fists directly or even landed solidly on his body. His combat prowess and offensive power were maximized to their absolute limits. Meanwhile, Lu Yuan’s performance seemed rather mediocre. He suspected that if Lu Yuan hadn’t successfully formed his Gang Qi, the older boy wouldn’t even be his match anymore. He felt like the reincarnation of a little tyrant!

”Alright, take a break,” Lin Siyao spoke up. She felt bad for Lu Yuan, and naturally, she also felt bad for her silly little brother.

”THUD!”

The two exchanged one last punch and separated.

”Brother-in-law, if you didn’t have your Gang Qi protecting you, nine times out of ten, you probably wouldn’t be able to beat me anymore,” Lin Siheng declared proudly.

”Mhm,” Lu Yuan nodded. ”But I already have my Gang Qi, so you can’t break through my defense.”

”Hmph.” Lin Siheng snorted, his small face instinctively darkening. ”Just give me two more years...”

”I’ll give you ten,” Lu Yuan said with a smile.

Advancing a fist technique from the Great Mastery stage to the Consummate stage was no simple feat. The crux of the matter lay in physical development. Without reaching the proper age, many aspects were restricted; at the very least, bone tempering was impossible. Otherwise, it would stunt one’s growth—unless one wanted to become a little dwarf. Thirteen years old was the absolute minimum requirement.

”You...” Lin Siheng turned his head away in a huff and walked off to the side to rest.

”Young Master, have some water.” Yaoyao walked over, holding a large bowl in her hands.

”Thanks.” Lu Yuan took the bowl and drank it down in large gulps. He handed the bowl back to Yaoyao. She retreated and went back to her wood carving.

”That little girl is a bit unusual,” Lin Siyao remarked. She had seen her a couple of days ago—tiny, frail, and looking incredibly pitiful.

”She has a bit of Blue Demon Blood,” Lu Yuan answered.

Provided with ample food, the little girl was recovering rapidly, practically changing day by day. Now, she looked almost like a normal child, though she remained on the skinny side.

”Oh, I see.” Lin Siyao retracted her gaze. The Demon Blood explained it. Blue Demons were a gentle breed of demons that excelled at planting, making them the best gardeners. Just having one person with Blue Demon Blood could keep a homestead perfectly organized, brimming with vitality, and blooming with lush flowers.

”SWISH.”

A secret manual suddenly appeared in Lin Siyao’s hand. ”Brother Yuan, take this and train with it. It will greatly increase your combat power.”

”This is...” Lu Yuan’s expression changed.

The Ninefold Blood Slaughter Saber! One glance was enough to tell that it was a superior martial art, specifically one with devastatingly powerful offense. But did his future parents-in-law agree to this?

”My father says that anyone who can master it within two years is a genius, and anyone who can master it within a single year is a peerless genius,” Lin Siyao explained. ”Your talent in Saber Techniques is so incredible, Brother Yuan. I’m sure you can master it quickly. By then, your combat power will have vastly increased, and my uncles, aunts, and I will be able to rest easy when you go out on missions.”

Lu Yuan understood that Lin Siyao had specially begged her father for this on his behalf. If he acquired it and mastered it, not only would his offensive power surge, but he could also prove his talent to his future parents-in-law.

[Lin Siyao has appeared again, intending to gift you a Saber Technique manual. However, you two have already broken off your engagement. The relationship is gone, and being the proud person you are, you will absolutely not accept a single gift from Lin Siyao.]

[Mission Issued: Reject Lin Siyao once again and maintain your proud independence. Completion Reward: 2 Root Bone points and 1000 Experience Points.]

Lu Yuan felt his composure crumbling. How was he supposed to reject Lin Siyao? She hadn’t done a single thing wrong and was treating him so well. Rejecting her time and time again would inevitably break her heart.

”Brother Yuan, I’m your fiancée. Don’t reject me. We shouldn’t draw such clear lines between us. What’s mine is yours, so you must accept it.” Lin Siyao stared straight at Lu Yuan, her eyes full of anticipation.

Lu Yuan shot a sidelong glance at Lin Siheng. This kid had actually turned his head away, acting as if he hadn’t heard a thing.

He thought, ”Damn it, when I wanted you to get lost earlier, you deliberately picked a fight. Now you suddenly decide to be tactful? Aren’t you supposed to storm over and snatch the manual away? And then self-righteously declare: ’Things belonging to my Lin family cannot be given to outsiders!’”

”Siyao, I probably don’t have the time or energy right now to divide my focus and train in a new Saber Technique.”

”Huh?” Lin Siyao’s pretty face changed. What did that mean? Was it just an excuse to reject her?

”I’m currently practicing an Archery Skill called Nine-Star Linked Beads...” Lu Yuan replied.

”Nine-Star Linked Beads!” Lin Siyao’s eyes instantly lit up.

Nine-Star Linked Beads was great! It was even better than a Saber Technique! For one, Nine-Star Linked Beads was genuinely formidable. It was a top-tier Archery Skill, and its lethality was no less than that of the Ninefold Blood Slaughter Saber. Secondly, Archers were usually stationed in the rear, dealing damage from a distance, which was much safer. She had previously considered suggesting that Brother Yuan take this path, but she hadn’t known how to bring it up. She never expected this...

”Yep, and I’ve already reached the Minor Mastery stage,” Lu Yuan said, breathing a sigh of relief as he spoke with a hint of pride. With that, he quickly went into the house, brought out his bow and arrows, and then...

”SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!”

Three arrows were fired.

”THWACK!” The first arrow hit the target, striking dead center in the bullseye.

”CRACK!” The second arrow struck the shaft of the first arrow directly, shattering it.

”CRACK!” The third arrow then struck and shattered the second arrow.

These three arrows were all fired within a single second, completed in the blink of an eye.

”Three-Star Linked Beads!” Lin Siyao exclaimed in awe, a brilliant light shining in her eyes. With this level of Archery Skill, if he were in the military, he would instantly be promoted to at least the rank of Centurion.

”WHOOSH.”

Lin Siheng sprang up from the ground, his eyes wide as saucers. ”Brother-in-law, since when did your Archery Skill become this amazing too?”
