Just Engaged, the Abandoned Comeback System Arrived

Chapter 90: Chapter 90: Archery Skill Shows Its Might, Suppression

”!!!”

In an instant, Sunx Jin felt his scalp explode. Every hair on his body stood on end, and his heart skipped a beat.

Fortunately, he had completed his organ refinement and achieved great mastery in tempering his entire body. He forcefully condensed his breath, ignoring the immense backlash his body suffered in that split second.

BANG!

He violently swatted the metal arrow away with his wooden shield.

THWIP!

The third arrow arrived. It was just as thrilling and perilous! The attack was ruthless and unstoppable!

WHOOSH!

Unable to block it, Sunx Jin could only twist his body in a wretched attempt to dodge.

THWIP!

The fourth arrow followed. The threat of this arrow was significantly smaller. Because Sunx Jin’s erratic reaction had temporarily broken free from Lu Yuan’s calculated control, this shot missed entirely.

SHHK!

Lu Yuan swiftly drew four more arrows.

”You’re finished!” Sunx Jin thought.

His gaze instantly sharpened as he condensed his power. He immediately charged forward in a zigzag pattern, covering several meters with each stride.

Unexpectedly, Lu Yuan nocked three arrows at once and fired them simultaneously. They formed a tight triangular formation, locking down three different directions. It was a sealing array!

Holding his breath in deep concentration, Sunx Jin could only dodge two of them before hacking the third one away with his saber.

SHHK!

With a flick of his thumb, Lu Yuan nocked the fourth arrow, drew the bow, and fired.

THWIP!

This arrow flew straight at Sunx Jin, aiming directly for his chest. It forced him back into a perilous situation similar to when the second arrow had been fired.

”Excellent!”

”What great Archery Skill!”

Some of the spectators couldn’t help but cheer. They had never expected Lu Yuan’s Archery Skill to be so exquisitely formidable.

As bystanders, they had a broader and clearer view, allowing them to witness every detail of the battle—Lu Yuan’s Archery Skill and Sunx Jin’s counterattacks. From the very first arrow, Sunx Jin had fallen into a disadvantage, and he had been suppressed by Lu Yuan ever since. This was something no one had anticipated before the fight began.

Lu Yuan truly was an Archery Skill genius and an expert. No wonder he had the confidence to challenge Sunx Jin.

However, Lu Yuan wouldn’t have many opportunities left. As Sunx Jin closed the distance, Lu Yuan would find himself in increasing danger. Once the gap closed to nearly thirty meters, Lu Yuan’s chances of winning would drop by seventy percent. If the distance between them shrank to twenty meters or less, Lu Yuan would have absolutely no chance at all.

But Sunx Jin was different this time; he was fully prepared, having already condensed his True Gang. He shattered one of Lu Yuan’s arrows with his saber, then struck the fourth arrow at an angle with his shield instead of taking it head-on.

SMACK!

The fourth arrow was swatted away.

SHHK!

Lu Yuan drew another five arrows.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Sunx Jin rapidly advanced, crossing the thirty-meter mark! A ferocious expression crept onto his face.

THWIP! THWIP!

Lu Yuan continued to draw his bow and shoot. This time, he didn’t use any complex Archery Skill. Instead, he rapid-fired his arrows, only drawing the bow halfway each time. The advantage was a much faster firing rate. Since it was a Ten-Ton Bow, even a half-draw packed a formidable punch that could not be underestimated.

SWOOSH! SWOOSH!

Sunx Jin continuously dodged, finding it difficult to advance any further. He hadn’t expected Lu Yuan’s firing rate to be so high. Moreover, the bow was incredibly powerful, posing a significant threat. Traumatized by the shadow of the very first arrow, he didn’t dare block head-on with his shield anymore. He especially didn’t dare to take it head-on with his Gang Qi.

However, Lu Yuan’s supply of arrows was limited. He quickly exhausted the five arrows and had to reach back into his quiver for more.

”Now is the time!” Sunx Jin thought.

Seizing the opportunity, Sunx Jin fiercely lunged forward. In an instant, he leaped over ten meters, closing the distance between him and Lu Yuan to within twenty meters. The guaranteed victory zone!

”Kill!” he roared.

”Lu Yuan has lost!” This was the immediate thought of everyone watching.

There was no room for doubt. If an initial-tier eighth-grade archer allowed an Eighth Grade Peak expert to close within twenty meters, what power of resistance could he possibly have left? If they had started at a distance of two hundred meters, Lu Yuan might have actually had a chance of defeating Sunx Jin. But now...

Liu Zhi, Jianng Hongfei, and Mu Lingche couldn’t help but sigh. If Lu Yuan could use hidden weapons, he might have been able to mount a counterattack and gain a bit more of a winning chance by catching his opponent off guard. Just like how he had killed that High Tier Eighth Grade martial artist outside Fuyuan Manor.

”Fortunately, I don’t have to pay up,” Jianng Hongfei rejoiced inwardly. He felt truly wise for backing out in time. Otherwise, he would have suffered a massive loss!

Yu Qiuyang felt somewhat delighted in his heart. He thought, ”Once Lu Yuan is defeated, even if he doesn’t die, he will definitely suffer a heavy blow. Add on his three to four thousand taels of debt, and he might just be completely ruined all at once. The person I despise is finally going to disappear. This is wonderful! People from minor families simply don’t deserve to be with us.”

”Brother Lu is too impulsive!” Han Li thought, shaking his head from atop a wooden beam. ”How can an initial-tier eighth-grade martial artist compete with an Eighth Grade Peak expert? When he first issued the challenge, he hadn’t even reached the eighth grade. One month is already too little time to begin with; normally, he should try to find a way to delay the duel when the deadline arrives. I never expected him to actually push it forward. Sure enough, he’s still too young.”

”What on earth is Lu Yuan’s trump card?” Chen Qiang pondered beside him. He believed that Lu Yuan truly possessed a hidden trump card. But if it wasn’t Archery Skill, and he couldn’t use hidden weapons or similar tricks, then what else could it be?

His gaze suddenly landed on the two sabers resting at Lu Yuan’s waist. ”Could there be another surprise?” he wondered.

SHHK!

Lu Yuan retrieved another five arrows, nocking three at once and firing them simultaneously to intercept Sunx Jin. While nocking the arrows, he rapidly retreated backward. Archers could move too! They weren’t stationary targets!

BANG!

Sunx Jin slashed two of the arrows away with his saber.

”Heh, it’s useless. You’re already finished!” Sunx Jin thought. He violently hurled the wooden shield in his hand, smashing it into Lu Yuan’s fourth arrow. It was incredibly precise! The two collided and flew off together.

”Kill!”

Sunx Jin leaped into the air, launching a ferocious frontal assault with imposing momentum.

THWIP!

Lu Yuan fired his fifth arrow.

CLANG!

Sunx Jin directly slashed it away. There were only ten meters left between them.

”A futile struggle!”

SHHK!

Lu Yuan drew three arrows, nocked one, and pulled the bow to a full draw.

Sunx Jin abruptly halted, his nerves pulled taut. He had only dared to advance so recklessly because he observed that Lu Yuan was only doing half-draws. The power of a full draw was more than double that of a half-draw. If it hit, he wasn’t completely confident he could block it.

He already knew this was a Ten-Ton Bow. A full draw could unleash an instantaneous impact force of about one thousand five hundred pounds. Because this force was highly concentrated entirely on the tip of the arrow, its destructive power would be amplified exponentially once again. An ironwood shield wouldn’t be able to stop it! Even a long saber forged from refined steel would instantly shatter into scraps...

Moreover, at such a close distance, his reaction time would be even shorter. Lu Yuan only had one chance for this single strike! It could be his final strike, or it could win him the match in an instant!

Everyone watched in nervous anticipation. The Sixth-Grade Martial Artist had already prepared to intervene.

SWISH!

Lu Yuan released his grip.

THWIP!

SCREECH!

Sunx Jin chose not to dodge; instead, he concentrated all his strength and slashed out with his saber.

BANG!

The saber shattered instantly, and the arrow broke apart as well. Sunx Jin’s slash was timed perfectly, pitting the strongest part of his saber’s edge against the arrowhead, so he wasn’t forced back. Using the Gang Qi on his body to block the flying blade fragments, he lowered his stance and lunged fiercely toward Lu Yuan.

SWOOSH!

He instantly closed in on Lu Yuan. Then, his figure abruptly shot up and expanded, transforming into a giant over two meters tall in the blink of an eye. He raised both fists, ready to deliver a devastating blow to Lu Yuan...

SHING! SHING!

At that exact same moment, Lu Yuan had already tossed his bow aside and smoothly drawn the twin sabers at his waist.
