Just Engaged, the Abandoned Comeback System Arrived

Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Delivering the Blade

After dinner, Lin Siheng was already in the courtyard, standing there with his hands behind his back.

When he saw Lu Yuan come out, he glared at him, his face full of resentment.

”What are you doing? Did a cow kick you in the eye?” Lu Yuan asked curiously.

”You’re the one who got kicked in the eye! It’s all your fault that I have to go to school tomorrow! If it weren’t for you, why would this happen?” Lin Siheng said angrily.

”Going to school?” Lu Yuan laughed. ”That’s a good thing! You should be happy. Why aren’t you?”

”Happy? Happy my foot!” Lin Siheng clenched his fists tightly. ”Once I go to school, I’ll have no freedom left. I’ll be trapped there every day. Because of you! It’s all because of you! Second Sister talked to Mother, and Mother discussed it with Father before agreeing, and then... you... you guys... you and my second sister are truly too wicked! It’s just because you two wanted to be alone together, so you sent me away to get rid of me!”

”Bullshit! What nonsense!” Lu Yuan immediately shouted angrily. ”If you leave, how am I supposed to interact with your second sister? We don’t get any benefit from this at all. We sent you to school for your own good, so you could make friends...”

”Is that so?” Lin Siheng thought about it, and it seemed to make some sense. If he wasn’t around, Second Sister and Lu Yuan’s meetings would definitely be restricted.

Wait, that’s not right!

”For my own good, my ass! Take this!” Lin Siheng suddenly threw a punch at Lu Yuan.

SMACK!

Lu Yuan reached out and easily caught it.

[Your former brother-in-law Lin Siheng suffered a romantic setback and failed in his confession. He has specifically come to vent his frustrations on you.]

[Issuing Task: Fight Lin Siheng, who is suppressing his Cultivation. Reward: 500 Experience Points.]

”No grabbing my fists, and no using Gang Qi!” Lin Siheng roared.

”Fine.” Lu Yuan applied a little force and tossed him aside.

”Again! Take this!” Lin Siheng swung his fists, launching a furious assault.

THUD THUD THUD!

SMACK SMACK SMACK!

Lu Yuan easily blocked all the attacks. Even without using Gang Qi, his Cloud-Brushing Hand was at the perfect stage, and his force-deflecting techniques were flawless. He felt absolutely no pressure.

However, this scene seemed to be the exact opposite of the task description. It clearly said that Lin Siheng was suppressing his Cultivation while he himself would have to go all out. But the reality was that he was the one suppressing his strength, while Lin Siheng was attacking with everything he had.

Lin Siheng attacked continuously for a full fifteen minutes before collapsing onto the ground in exhaustion.

”How are you getting stronger and stronger? I’m not fighting anymore, I’m done.”

”Nonsense, I practice martial arts every day.” Lu Yuan frowned as he looked at the several shattered floor tiles that had been trampled on again. ”With your strength, you’ll be completely unrivaled at the school. You could easily become a little tyrant.”

”Naturally. Those guys? None of them could even block a single punch from me,” Lin Siheng said with confident disdain. He could defeat anyone under the age of fourteen in the Jade Capital and remain unrivaled. Well, except for those Direct Lineage Elites living within the First Ring.

”You still need to be careful. If you hurt someone, you’ll have to pay compensation.” Lu Yuan nodded. ”Just now, you shattered five floor tiles. Pay up: one tael.”

”What? One tael for five tiles? Aren’t you being way too greedy?” Lin Siheng’s small face instantly scrunched up. He absolutely did not want to pay compensation. If he did, he would definitely get a beating from his mother when he went back.

”Who told you not to learn your lesson?” Lu Yuan glared at the little guy.

”I...” Lin Siheng’s eyes darted left and right, pretending he hadn’t heard anything. Anyway, he hadn’t paid a single penny up until now.

”Brother Yuan, did you go on a mission again last night?” Lin Siyao appeared, revealing half of her body from around the corner.

”Yeah, there was a mission last night. I was providing support from the rear with my bow and arrows,” Lu Yuan replied with a smile.

”What do you mean ’support’? Weren’t you just cleaning up the edges and playing second fiddle?” Lin Siheng immediately exposed him.

Eighth-Grade Martial Artists were at the very bottom of the Demon Suppression Bureau. Those at the initial stage of the Eighth Grade were likely among the weakest and could only handle cleanup duties.

”Mhm, Aman is right. You’re so smart,” Lu Yuan praised.

”Heh,” Lin Siheng sneered.

Lin Siyao glared at Lin Siheng. ”How rude! Show some respect to your elders! Brother Yuan’s Archery Skill is still very impressive.” As long as one’s Archery Skill was accurate enough and paired with a Strong Bow, it could threaten an Eighth-Grade Martial Artist.

”Can it kill an Eighth-Grade Martial Artist, then?” Lin Siheng retorted indignantly.

”Aman, are you itching for a beating?” Lin Siyao furrowed her brows in anger. He was intentionally opposing her at every turn!

Lin Siheng shrank his neck back.

”Eighth-Grade Martial Artists... they actually aren’t that difficult to deal with,” Lu Yuan chuckled.

”Braggart,” Lin Siheng couldn’t help but interject again.

”Bragging, am I?” Lu Yuan waved his hand, and a Silver Needle pierced right into Lin Siheng’s arm.

Lin Siheng looked down at his arm in surprise.

”Ahhhh!” A sharp scream pierced the clouds, and then Lin Siheng leaped two meters into the air.

***

Because his blood exchange wasn’t complete yet, Lu Yuan stayed at home and didn’t go anywhere. He nourished his health while guiding Yaoyao in practicing her fist techniques.

When Lu Ming returned in the evening, his brow was heavy with worry, and he prepared to leave right after dinner.

”Wait a moment,” Lu Yuan called out to stop Lu Ming.

”What is it? Do you need something?” Lu Ming asked.

”Just a little.” Lu Yuan brought out a saber from his room and handed it to Lu Ming. ”Take this.”

”What’s this for?” Lu Ming was puzzled. He already had a saber that he was used to wielding, and he didn’t want to replace it so easily.

”You’ll know once you take a look,” Lu Yuan smiled.

Lu Ming took it, and his expression instantly changed.

SHING!

He drew the saber from its sheath and infused it with his True Essence.

WHOOSH!

A blade aura over half a foot long shot out. It gleamed with a pure white light, incomparably sharp.

”A Profound Weapon!” Lu Ming immediately dispelled the blade aura and sheathed the saber. ”Where did you get a Profound Weapon? How did you get your hands on this, and why are you giving it to me?”

Lu Ming’s face was extremely tense and serious. His first reaction was that Lu Yuan had secretly pocketed loot during a mission. If he was discovered hiding such a precious Profound Weapon, it would be a massive crime.

”Don’t worry. I joined a Weapon-Forging Sect, and my senior brother forged this,” Lu Yuan explained simply.

”Senior brother? When did you join a Weapon-Forging Sect? Weren’t you on a mission last night?” Hearing this, Lu Ming couldn’t help but be taken aback.

”We met previously, but I only officially joined this morning,” Lu Yuan replied.

Lu Ming stared blankly. Did he really join a Weapon-Forging Sect? Was this for real? They just gave out a Profound Weapon upon joining? Were they really that generous?

”That’s not right. When you join a Sect, it’s one thing if you don’t give a gift, but who would just hand you a Profound Weapon?”

”Could it be because I’m a genius? An absolute, peerless genius in the Dao of Weapon-Forging!” Lu Yuan tilted his chin up slightly.

”Tch, bullshit.” Lu Ming didn’t buy it. He was already more than satisfied that his son was a little genius in the Martial Dao. Now a Weapon-Forging genius on top of that... Was his son the legendary Child of Destiny or something?

”Don’t believe me, then.” Lu Yuan didn’t force the issue. He had already said his piece; whether Old Lu chose to believe it or not was his own business.

”In last night’s mission, I was distributed quite a few Pills,” Lu Yuan added.

”So, you traded those Pills for this?” Lu Ming instantly came to a realization. Just the Pills alone might not be enough, but he knew Lu Yuan had quite a few silver notes on him. Plus, if he had truly joined a Weapon-Forging Sect, they might have given him an internal discount or simply charged him the cost price...

”You brat, if you have some money and Pills, spend them on yourself. You don’t need to think about me.”

”I have too much! I can’t possibly use it all!” Lu Yuan chuckled playfully. ”Besides, don’t I still need your protection?”

”You brat...” Lu Ming scolded with a smile, his heart deeply moved. His son really did keep him in his thoughts! He hadn’t raised him in vain. Gripping the Profound Weapon in his hand, his courage instantly surged. With this, his combat prowess would at least double.

”Don’t worry! Until you’ve made a name for yourself, your old man won’t go down easily! I’m still waiting for you to break through to the Third Grade.”

”The Third Grade... that will happen very soon,” Lu Yuan waved his hand. ”Alright, alright, hurry up and go.”

”Hahaha... Your old man is off!” Lu Ming departed with a loud laugh, carrying both sabers.
