Just Engaged, the Abandoned Comeback System Arrived

Chapter 69: Chapter 69: Archery Skill Shows Its Might

It happened without warning, catching everyone completely off guard. Chen Qiang had poured all his strength into this strike. There was no Sword Gang—only a two-foot blade aura pushed to its absolute limit!

Dou Kun’s hair instantly stood on end. His eyes widened as he slammed his hands together with all his might. ”Block!”

A massive Primordial Gang Evil Shield materialized around him. It was a murky yellow, swirling with dark light, looking utterly indestructible. Fused with Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi and special Evil Qi, it was an existence ten times stronger than a True Gang Shield. Its toughness was unparalleled!

*HISS!*

However, beneath Chen Qiang’s blade aura, it still showed its weakness. Dou Kun’s expression changed drastically.

*CRACK!*

The Primordial Gang Shield shattered.

*SLASH!*

The long blade struck Dou Kun directly, cleaving open half of his shoulder and chest.

*THUD!*

His body was sent flying backward.

*SWISH!*

Chen Qiang followed him like a shadow, swinging his blade for another strike. This blow was meant to kill!

”Get lost!” A harsh shout erupted from the adjacent room.

Arriving even faster than the voice was a long spear. It pierced through the air with blinding speed, its tip condensing the sharp aura that only a Seventh-Grade Martial Artist could achieve.

Chen Qiang narrowed his eyes, forced to turn his blade to meet the attack.

*CLANG!*

The long spear was knocked away.

*SWISH!*

A figure appeared in the courtyard, firmly catching the spear. He was tall and slender, with striking features and wildly fluttering long hair, exuding an extraordinary aura. He was the other Seventh-Grade Martial Artist overseeing Fuyuan Manor—Luo Xu!

”From the Demon Suppression Bureau?” Luo Xu asked after looking Chen Qiang up and down.

”The Demon Suppression Bureau!” The expressions of everyone in the manor changed drastically.

The Demon Suppression Bureau possessed an illustrious and fearsome reputation. The deeds committed here naturally clashed with everything the Bureau stood for. They had long anticipated this confrontation, but to have it happen now...

”That’s right. Today, I am bringing you all to justice!” Chen Qiang pointed his long blade straight at Luo Xu, his face solemn and resolute.

”Heh, just by yourself?” Luo Xu sneered.

It wouldn’t be easy for Chen Qiang to take him down alone. In reality, Luo Xu was constantly scanning his surroundings from the corner of his eye, searching for traces of other Demon Suppression Bureau members while stalling to give Dou Kun time to recover. That previous strike wasn’t enough to end Dou Kun’s life; the vitality and regenerative abilities of a Seventh-Grade Martial Artist were exceptionally robust.

”Kill!”

Hearing the commotion, Mu Lingche, Jiang Hongfei, Liu Zhi, and Yu Qiuyang charged into the manor from all directions. They were four Eighth-Grade elites, especially Mu Lingche.

”We are more than enough!” Chen Qiang smiled confidently before launching himself at Luo Xu with a vicious slash.

”Not nearly enough!” Luo Xu raised his spear to block Chen Qiang’s strike. ”Kill them all!”

”Yes, sir!” The Martial Artists in the manor instantly obeyed, their killing intent surging.

Only about a third of them had succumbed to the poison Chen Qiang had previously dispersed. There were still forty or fifty unharmed fighters remaining. Excluding those guarding the slaves, over thirty Martial Artists were left. Led by five Eighth-Grade Martial Artists, they unleashed their full combat power and charged toward Mu Lingche, Jiang Hongfei, Liu Zhi, and Yu Qiuyang.

*BAM!*

Mu Lingche sent a leading Eighth-Grade Martial Artist flying with a single punch. Then, with a twirl of his spear...

*SWISH! SLASH!*

The throats of four Ninth-Grade Martial Artists were slit open, their life force rapidly fading. Moments later, two more dropped dead with heavy thuds.

The enemies on his side were completely wiped out in the blink of an eye. His strength vastly exceeded that of an ordinary Eighth Grade.

Things were not going as smoothly in the other directions. Jiang Hongfei, Liu Zhi, and Yu Qiuyang were only at the initial tier of the Eighth Grade; their combat prowess couldn’t compare to Mu Lingche’s.

Among the Eighth-Grade Martial Artists in Fuyuan Manor, two were Middle-Tier Eighth-Grade, and one was High-Tier Eighth-Grade. All of them were exceptionally fierce. The High-Tier Eighth-Grade fighter charged straight at Jiang Hongfei.

Jiang Hongfei’s eyelids twitched wildly. He hurriedly dodged, avoiding the brunt of the attack.

”Where do you think you’re going?” the High-Tier Eighth-Grade pursued.

*BOOM!*

He threw a punch, the force of it tearing through the air and traveling over ten feet, merely grazing past Jiang Hongfei’s neck.

Jiang Hongfei’s heart leaped into his throat. ”Damn it all, why am I so unlucky?” he thought. Shifting his gaze, he spotted Mu Lingche and frantically bolted toward him.

Liu Zhi and Yu Qiuyang were both up against Middle-Tier Eighth-Grade Martial Artists. Unfortunately for Liu Zhi, he also had to face an initial-tier Eighth-Grade opponent, along with four or five Ninth-Grade Martial Artists. Under such immense pressure, his situation was incredibly perilous.

*SWISH! SLASH!*

Liu Zhi drew his Soft Sword and sliced the throats of two Ninth-Grade Martial Artists.

*BAM!*

The Middle-Tier Eighth-Grade Martial Artist suddenly closed the distance, sending Liu Zhi flying with a heavy punch.

*WHOOSH!*

The initial-tier Eighth-Grade Martial Artist lunged forward to deliver the fatal blow.

*THWACK!*

Just then, a dark gleam flashed. A metal arrow pierced cleanly through the attacker’s skull from behind, burying itself into the ground. His body suddenly froze before hitting the dirt with a heavy thud.

The Middle-Tier Eighth-Grade Martial Artist’s hair stood on end. He immediately halted and spun around, scanning the perimeter for the archer.

Liu Zhi breathed a sigh of relief. It had to be Brother Lu. He was also deeply astonished, never expecting Lu Yuan to instantly kill an initial-tier Eighth-Grade Martial Artist with a single shot. It was too precise, too formidable. His Archery Skill was absolutely phenomenal!

But this was only the beginning.

*WHOOSH!*

Another metal arrow shot in from the outside, targeting the Middle-Tier Eighth-Grade expert. By the time the sound reached him, it was already too late.

However, a Middle-Tier Eighth-Grade expert possessed extraordinary eyesight, reflexes, and even a heightened intuition for life and death. He instinctively swung his blade outward to intercept it...

*CLANG!*

The metal arrow was deflected.

Yet, in the very next instant, another heavy *THWACK!* echoed. Another metal arrow appeared right in front of his face. His Gang Qi instinctively flared up to block it, but against a metal arrow fired from an Eight-Ton Strong Bow, how could a hasty defense suffice? His head was instantly pierced through.

”There’s a master archer!”

”Everyone, watch out!”

Uproar immediately swept through the manor, accompanied by waves of alarmed shouts. Everyone went on high alert, raising their guard to the absolute maximum. The bow and arrow truly were the kings of cold weaponry. When given enough distance, a formidable archer was worth at least a dozen Martial Artists of the same grade, especially when armed with a powerful bow and razor-sharp arrows.

Killing two Eighth-Grade Martial Artists with just three arrows was clear proof of his Archery Skill, not to mention the super-strength bow in his hands. Such a threat was fatal to anyone below the Seventh Grade.

”Everyone, come out and defend!” Dou Kun roared while clutching his bleeding chest. ”Someone go and kill that archer!”

From within the dungeon, four more Eighth-Grade Martial Artists and over a dozen Ninth-Grade guards rapidly emerged.

*BAM!*

Chen Qiang found an opening and threw a punch at Dou Kun.

”You...” Luo Xu was enraged. How dared Chen Qiang allow himself to be distracted while fighting him?

Outside the fray, Lu Yuan hadn’t even shifted targets yet, but the Middle-Tier Eighth-Grade Martial Artist fighting Yu Qiuyang instantly lost half his momentum and combat power. He even leaped away entirely, frantically scanning his surroundings to guard against a sneak attack from the archer, leaving the remaining Ninth-Grade Martial Artists to besiege Yu Qiuyang instead.

Lu Yuan had no intention of wasting his arrows on Ninth-Grade Martial Artists. His crosshairs were locked solely on those at the Eighth Grade.

Compared to the High-Tier Eighth-Grade Martial Artist who had been lured over to Mu Lingche—and was currently being ruthlessly battered by him—this Middle-Tier Eighth-Grade fighter was undoubtedly the perfect next target. Although Lu Yuan had no desire to help Yu Qiuyang, he needed merits and Contribution Points!

Therefore...

*WHOOSH!*

Lu Yuan released the arrow from his grasp.
