Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 416: Chapter 386: Water Dragon’s Roar, a Dilemma

The battle erupted. To quickly take down his opponent, Hongbing Monarch summoned all of his Pet Beasts.

His opponent, Seventh Elder Zakum of the Black Divine Teachings, likewise summoned all five of his Pet Beasts.

Since the Power Levels of his Pet Beasts were generally a bit higher than his opponent’s, Hongbing Monarch had kept Zakum on the defensive almost from the moment the fight began.

Even so, it was impossible for him to free himself up quickly enough to go and support Li Qian and Sun Ruirui.

Although Zakum was no match for Hongbing Monarch, the gap in their strength wasn’t huge. Tying him down was still no problem at all.

Under these circumstances, Hongbing Monarch grew more anxious the longer he fought. A faint sense of foreboding began to take root in his heart.

The commotion inside the venue was just as intense. The sounds of clashing Skills and waves of Energy continuously emanated from within.

’You two kids, just hang in there.’ At this point, all Hongbing Monarch could do was pray.

RUMBLE...

WHOOSH...

Just as Hongbing Monarch’s heart filled with anxiety, the terrifying roar of rushing water suddenly erupted from within the venue.

The tremendous noise instantly caught the attention of the two combatants. Though their battle didn’t cease, their eyes instinctively flickered toward the source.

BOOM!

The roar of water grew louder until finally, a massive breach was blasted open in one of the venue’s walls.

A terrifying torrent of water, with the force of a tidal wave, burst forth from the breach.

The turbulent water surged and churned. At the crest of the torrent, one large and two smaller dragon heads, formed entirely of flowing water, appeared shockingly lifelike.

The two combatants were stunned by the sight; clearly, neither had expected such a turn of events.

After the initial shock, Zakum’s heart leaped into his throat. He saw his two subordinates who had broken in earlier, along with a young man in a Guard’s uniform, being swept out by the terrifying torrent.

The water continued to swell, surging into another massive wave. Atop its crest, a petite girl stood with perfect stability.

Flanking the girl were three Tidal Sea Spirits, protecting her in their midst like imperial guards.

The girl standing at the crest of the wave was none other than Sun Ruirui. Her gaze was as sharp as lightning, fixed on the three people and seven Pet Beasts trapped in the current.

”Water Dragon’s Roar!” Sun Ruirui stared straight ahead, her eyes cold as she uttered the words with chilling indifference.

The moment she spoke, the current grew violent once more, raging like a river that had burst its dams.

From within the torrent, three water dragons—one large and two small—soared twenty to thirty meters into the air before crashing down with furious might.

Hongbing Monarch could even see solid blocks of concrete being instantly pulverized into dust under the dragons’ furious charge.

This alone was a testament to the Skill’s terrifying power.

”Dominator Level!” The raw power of the Water Dragon’s Roar was breathtaking. Seeing this, Zakum couldn’t help but cry out in astonishment.

’Dominator Level itself isn’t that shocking. After all, you couldn’t even participate in this operation without being at the Dominator Level. But judging by the girl’s age, she must be a new student from this year.’

’For a new student to have Dominator Level strength... now *that’s* terrifying. What’s more, judging by that Water Dragon’s Roar, its power far surpasses that of an ordinary, newly-ascended Dominator.’

’If she’s allowed to keep growing, she’ll absolutely become a Saint Spirit Level expert in the future. It’s not even out of the question that she could become a Legendary Level titan.’

Zakum was thoroughly alarmed, and a sense of foreboding began to grow in his heart.

In truth, he knew this was no longer a premonition, but a fact: his men, including their inside contact, had been utterly annihilated by that terrifying torrent.

The unexpected had happened after all. An interloper had appeared out of nowhere. This girl, riding the crest of the wave, had become the X-factor that would decide the outcome.

”Hahaha...” Hongbing Monarch threw his head back and laughed as he looked at Sun Ruirui on the crest of the wave. ”It’s true what they say—heroes emerge from the younger generation! They truly do!”

”Zakum, no matter how carefully you’ve planned or how meticulously you’ve schemed, in the face of this righteous tide, all your efforts are nothing but a laughingstock.”

Zakum curled his lip in disdain. ”Righteous tide? Don’t make me laugh. I was simply outmaneuvered by a single move. I just didn’t account for that little brat, that’s all.”

Hongbing Monarch pressed his attack, his words just as relentless. ”Didn’t account for her? Heh. There’s plenty more you haven’t accounted for.”

”Our Dongxia Federation is teeming with talent, with brilliant minds emerging in every generation. How could the likes of you possibly fathom the foundation we have built?”

Hongbing Monarch continued his assault, using his words to disrupt Zakum’s focus. The taunts had some effect, but not much. In reality, Zakum was already planning his retreat.

The mission objective was now impossible. If he lingered here any longer, waiting for other forces in Mo Yuan City to react, he might truly be trapped.

”Ghost Witch, Vicious Poison Bomb!” Having made his decision, Zakum didn’t hesitate, immediately ordering one of his Pet Beasts to unleash its ultimate attack.

The Ghost Witch’s shriveled, crone-like body suddenly began to inflate, emitting terrifying waves of Energy.

”Ice Heart Guardian!” Seeing this, Hongbing Monarch immediately commanded his own Pet Beast. At the same time, he yelled, ”Young lady, use a Guardian Skill! Quickly!”

”Water Curtain Celestial Splendor!” Atop the wave, Sun Ruirui heard Hongbing Monarch’s warning and, without the slightest hesitation, commanded her Pet Beasts to use their Guardian Skill.

Golden Rain took the lead, and the two newly ascended Tidal Sea Spirits at its side immediately followed suit, casting Water Curtain Celestial Splendor!
