Epic Of Caterpillar

Chapter 2879 - 2880: I Only Want You To Be Happy

-----

”I... only want your happiness. And I will not pursue selfishness anymore. Our relationship was beautiful, and I will remember it forever... but you have new lives here. Donʼt let your past shackle you to me,” Kireina said softly.

”Kireina-sama...” Kaguya felt a sharp pain pierce her heart. She shook her head slowly. ”I cannot do that... perhaps those feelings faded once, but the moment you stood against the gods, you moved me so deeply that I might have fallen for you all over again...”

”I...” Nanako looked shyly toward the stars. ”I do want my new life here... but at the same time, the ache in my heart tells me I must not lose the bond we share. I cannot say it with full confidence, but I do feel something for you—something deep and powerful.”

”I see...” Kireina smiled, tears slipping down her cheeks. ”I did many awful things in my early life in Genesis, things that... still torment me even now. Especially you, Nanako. I tormented your life the most... I donʼt expect you to forgive me, but I want to tell you that I am truly sorry. And... I will keep repenting until the day I die.”

”Although what you did before was awful, and I hated you for a long time, I still developed feelings—perhaps out of necessity for survival amid your family...” Nanako sighed deeply. ”We never had a child together... we were never able to forge a deeper bond, unfortunately. But now I see that you are a completely different person from that being, Kireina-sama. You are admirable—someone everyone looks up to. You are honest and righteous. I forgave you long ago, but... I will tell you now.”

Nanako gently took Kireinaʼs hands and gazed into her red eyes with her eight glowing pink ones.

”I forgive you.”

Those words struck Kireina like a wave. A heavy, crushing guilt that had weighed on her sense of self for so long began to slowly dissolve.

She cried harder, nodding through her tears.

”Thank you, Nanako...”

Kaguya smiled brightly and clapped her hands cutely as she watched them, but her eyes widened in surprise when Kireina and Nanako leaned closer. Their lips met in a tender, loving kiss.

”A-Ah...! What have I done...” Nanako whispered, blushing furiously. She hadnʼt even realized she had acted on impulse. ”Iʼm so sorry, Great Esteemed One...”

”Itʼs fine,” Kireina said with a warm smile. ”It was just a kiss, but it means the world to me... Nanako, live well and be happy here, alright? I will always watch over you.”

Kireina held her hand tightly. A bright light flowed into Nanakoʼs body and soul, deepening her connection to the System—now rooted directly within Kireinaʼs Heart.

”Thank you...” Nanako smiled gently. ”Please, take this. Itʼs a gift from me and my father.”

She handed Kireina a delicate pink scroll—a special Cultivation Method of the Wisdom Path, rooted in the powers of Illusions, Psychic Energy, and Dream Reading.

”Itʼs called the Four Heavenly Dream Eyes,” Nanako explained. ”It will help you read your Fate and the Fate of others far more clearly. With a special technique, it becomes even more efficient.”

”This is incredible. Thank you,” Kireina said sincerely. ”Then take this from me.”

She offered Nanako a simple yet beautiful bracelet set with a white jewel. It carried a connection to Kireinaʼs ”Records”—all the knowledge and experiences she had shared with her qualified family and friends within her Cosmic Realm.

”I see...” Nanako understood instantly upon touching the jewel, feeling the crystallized fragment of Kireinaʼs Heart Essence. ”Thank you.”

”And for you, Kaguya,” Kireina said, placing a necklace around her neck. ”There...”

”Thank you!” Kaguya beamed with joy. ”Um... while Daddy isnʼt around, can... we kiss?”

”Haha, well, I mean...” Kireina flushed, but Kaguya didnʼt wait. She leaned in and stole a quick, sweet kiss on the lips.

”Mooch!” she giggled adorably, her heart racing faster. ”Itʼs just as I thought...! I really do love you, Kireina-sama... Please come visit my realm once youʼre free!”

”Of course...” Kireina nodded warmly. ”Take care, both of you.”

She waved as they returned to their families. For a moment, Kireina stood alone, gazing at the starry sky, savoring the quiet... and glimpsing the vast future ahead.

”The Mount Takao Incident... it carries such a dense concentration of Fate. This event will change not just the world, but perhaps the entire universe forever... I must grow stronger, no matter the cost.”

Kireina clenched her fists tightly. She knew hesitation was no longer an option.

She returned to the party, ate and drank for a while, then retired to her room to resume her Cultivation.

The next day, she met Susanoo for a private training session on a desolate floating island covered in rugged mountains and cherry blossom forests.

Only small insects inhabited the place, making it ideal for training. The island itself was vast—roughly the size of North America.

Sizable enough.

”All right, Kireina, now I must repay the favor!” Susanoo declared with a wide grin. ”As promised, I will teach you the Heavenly Sword God Myriad Soul Blade Arts! It is both a Martial Art and a Heaven and Earth Path Dual Cultivation Method—developed uniquely by yours truly!”

Now Kireina would inherit Susanooʼs greatest legacy.

He swiftly manifested his Heart Path Manifestation, raising his sword high and channeling his power through his Martial Arts Cultivation Method.

The sky rumbled. The ground trembled. Kireina watched Heaven and Earth Essence gather rapidly within his body, fueling explosive growth.

Then, with that energy, he unleashed a single sword strike toward a nearby mountain.

SLAAASH!

BOOOM!

The mountain split cleanly in half and shattered into countless fragments. Kireinaʼs eyes widened at the sheer destruction.

She noticed he had used almost no personal energy. It resembled her own Manifestationʼs efficiency—maximizing every particle—but perhaps to an even greater degree.

”That was the first attack: a horizontal slash called Mountain Slash,” Susanoo explained. ”Here.”

He tossed her a scroll. She read it quickly, memorizing every detail in minutes before handing it back.

Susanoo nodded approvingly.

”All right, now that youʼre ready, letʼs begin. As the scroll instructs, open your Inner Heaven and Earth Channels and use the Formula to absorb Heaven and Earth Essence... then gather it into your sword hand and release it as an attack. Itʼs that simple,” he said with a carefree smile.

”That simple?” Kireina asked doubtfully. She attempted it but immediately felt the flow was sluggish. ”Huh...”

This was her first time practicing such a high-caliber hybrid method. It combined Martial Arts with Heaven and Earth Path Cultivation because of its unique mechanics.

The foundation involved absorbing external Heaven and Earth Energies, channeling them through the bodyʼs Heavenly and Earthly Meridians, then releasing them as a technique.

It appeared far simpler than it truly was.

The difficulty lay in shaping the freshly absorbed energy—external, not internal—into a precise martial attack.

The energy kept slipping from her grasp and blade.

”Huh...”

And with every strike unleashed, the body and soul would sharpen further, like a blade being honed.

”This is the Method I used to become so strong back when I was merely a Storm God!” Susanoo said proudly. ”See? Even gods born as gods face our own struggles!”

”Indeed, itʼs truly fascinating...” Kireina nodded thoughtfully.

Susanoo grinned excitedly and continued guiding her through the Seven Forms of his unique Method.
