Hmm?

Suddenly, beneath the Mask of Truth, Grimm looked at his team of Demon-Hunter Sorcerers, who were also looking at him.

“It’s them! They’re here as well?”

In front of them, Third Ghostpepper was leading Kuryak, Roqhiroo, Gabriel, and three other Demon-Hunter Sorcerers into the Second Battle Command as well. It seemed like they arrived here first.

The sharp Alxa noticed a hint of tension in the air. The old sorceress glanced at the Rank-2 Honor Badge on top of Third Ghostpepper’s sorcerer’s barrier for a while before noticing the Rank-3 honor badges on the six other members. She then quietly led three of her Level-2 demon-hunting members away from Grimm’s team.

The old sorceress smiled half-heartedly. “It seems that Master Grimm has met some trouble. Hehe, I will go to the Battle Command first.”

“Understood.”

Grimm nodded and looked on as Alxa led the three Level-2 sorcerers away.

The bone-chilling eyes of Third Ghostpepper were glowing a deep red. There was a flame swaying on top of him. He wore a skull ring in each of his five frail fingers. His back was hunched and he was clutching a magical staff made from an animal’s spine. He merely glanced at Grimm before setting his sights upon the Thousand-eyed Carcinus which Grimm and his team stood.

The scent of a Level-3 creature, there’s no mistaking it!

So the Marked Friendship Key came from Black Isotta himself, and the great Stigmata Sorcerer had given him preferential treatment.

Third Ghostpepper’s dark red eyes lit up as he tightened his clutch on his magical staff in an unnatural manner.

With the Level-3 creature as Grimm’s partner, he knew that neither he nor the rest of his team had any chance in this world’s missions.

It appeared that he could only save his face after he had returned to the Sorcerer World, when the great Demon-Hunter Sorcerer assigns him demon-hunting trial missions to recover his fall from grace two centuries ago.

Not to say that he could kill him, but if it were just sabotaging his mission or severely wounding him…

“Heeheehee…” Third Ghostpepper’s eyes lit up viciously as he laughed in a grim way.

Since he had destroyed his chances of joining the demon-hunting trials once, he had to take revenge on him, and maybe even…

Unknowingly, Third Ghostpepper had viewed Grimm as his equal rival. He was at least at the same level as Gabriel or Kuryak.

Gabriel was breathing heavily. Why would the great Black Isotta watch over him so much?

What was more disturbing to him was that he who had graduated from Black Isotta’s Sorcerer Academy did not receive any attention from Black Isotta at all. Although the rest of the team didn’t mention it, but from how they see him in their eyes, they were quietly laughing at him!

He had always prided himself as a student of the Black Isotta’s Sorcerer Academy for thousands of years and felt that he had lost out to Grimm. He felt that his position in the team had been downgraded to that of Roqhiroo’s.

It was a great insult to Gabriel.

In the past, Gabriel was recognized by the team as the only person in the team who was able to threaten Third Ghostpepper, even surpassing Kuryak briefly. But now…

Such injustice! Black Isotta’s behavior had gone against the conduct of the demon-hunting expedition!

Gabriel glared at Grimm begrudgingly.

The rest of Third Ghostpeppers’s team members too set their sights upon the Thousand-eyed Carcinus. Its sensing ability was the center of their attention.

At this moment, the Thousand-eyed Carcinus could sharply sense that the seven demon-hunting sorcerers were looking at it. At its body, hundreds of eyes, both big and small, turned around at looked toward the seven demon-hunting sorcerers at the same time.

Although the Thousand-eyed Carcinus was a Level-3 creature, it was still a Soul Slave that had submitted to the will of the sorcerers. It dared not show any disrespect at the three sorcerers.

“Captain Grimm, are we in trouble?”

Lou Linman asked in a concerned manner as she noticed that all seven Dark Demon-Hunter Sorcerers had honor badges on them.

Grimm didn’t say a word, but Little Myna started mocking them.

“Bastards, how dare they look for trouble! Master, from how I see it, let’s just stealthily…”

“Haha, foolish Myna, stop talking smack.”

Leafie the parrot held its stomach with its pair of wings as it burst into laughter. “Haha, what stealthily… putting aside how you were coaxing Grimm into breaking the law, all of the sorcerers in front have honor badges. Even if there were three more of us, we’re no match for them at all.”

The Myna was furious. “That’s because you little parrot could not fathom how great this Myna is, we’ll settle this once we get back to the Sorcerer World.”

Under the protection from the black chains, beneath her blonde hair, Nairo set her eyes upon Third Ghostpepper, Gabriel, Roqhiroo, Kuryak, and the rest of the Demon-Hunter Sorcerers. She then looked back at Grimm.

So those were his rivals…

One could see how influential he was just by looking at his enemies.

Not only do they all have honor badges, two of them even had two pieces of Rank-3 honor badges on them.

What was more shocking was that the leader of the group had a Rank-2 honor badge!

A Rank-2 honor badge meant that in one of the demon-hunting expeditions, the Level-2 sorcerer had once overturned the tide of a losing battle in his favor. This was absolutely difficult even for a Level-3 Demon-Hunter Sorcerer, let alone a Level-1 Demon-Hunter Sorcerer!

A combination of Level-1 Demon-Hunter Sorcerers where each of them had great potentials; those were Grimm’s rivals?

Nairo quietly took a peek at Grimm. She was looking to see how Grimm would react to the situation ahead.

The pale gray spirals of the Mask of Truth had covered Grimm’s face. His loose black sorcerer’s robe and cloak were fluttering in the wind. His expressions could not be seen; it was a mystery.

The rest of the demon-hunting sorcerers in his team were also quietly looking at Grimm.

They were only a small dark sorcerer team that was formed hastily. If Grimm couldn’t handle the situation well, the team would soon fall into disarray and meet a premature end.

Once again, Third Ghostpepper’s dark-red eyes turned toward Grimm. He looked at the Level-1 Demon-Hunter Sorcerer who was holding a Sabbatic Goat Staff. He couldn’t help but be reminded of what had happened in the Jewel Sea in Section Twelve of the Holy Tower of the Seven Rings in the sorcerer’s continent.

“Grimm…”

Third Ghostpepper was mumbling by himself. It sounded like the voice was coming from the gaps of his clenched teeth.

“Hmmph!”

It wasn’t clear whether Grimm was snubbing them coldly. He paid no attention to Third Ghostpepper and his team of demon-hunting sorcerers. He ordered the Thousand-eyed Carcinus to bring Nairo, Lou Linmman, Saris, and the rest of his ten-people group toward the Second Battle Command. The Thousand-eyed Carcinus passed by the Third Ghostpepper’s team with its huge body.

“Master, are we just going to let them off like that? Bastards, they really get on this myna’s nerves, if they weren’t…”

The Thousand-eyed Carcinus hovered above the Second Battle Command. Grimm did not say anything to Little Myna.

“I’ll go get the mission.”

As he spoke, Grimm flew down from the Thousand-eyed Carcinus toward the metallic aircraft that were lined up.

Buzz…buzz…

A team of Mechanical Marionettes was carrying a sack of sweet death fragrance crystals toward the Battle Command’s surroundings. They seemed to be expanding the boundaries of the Battle Command and were expelling the approaching Snowthread Worms of the Burrow World.
