‘It stopped!

‘It seems the way the creature perceives is really by using the Resonance Echo.’

Grimm sighed and murmured in the middle of the air. “I just made a mistake due to my carelessness and lack of knowledge in Sound Wave Sorcery. If it was really using the Spiritual Echo or Thought Echo, then it would get really tricky.”

Grimm experienced the horror of Spiritual Echo cast by “Primal Curse” Althio during the Holy Tower Qualification Battle.

He didn’t dare blink, didn’t dare sleep, his perception and consciousness were constantly disturbed.

Grimm used Space Distortion to move to avoid creating any air ripples as he moved, the unknown creature could no longer sense his movements.

Perhaps the creature panicked after realizing it could no longer sense Grimm’s movements, it began to run away cluelessly.

“Heh-heh…”

With an evil smile, Grimm used Space Distortion again and appeared a hundred meters away.

Just like that, after a few Space Distortion, Grimm floated quietly in the air. He was observing his surroundings with his elemental eyes while sniffing the air with the Canine Olfactory Sorcery, trying to locate the source of the stench.

The creature seemed to have stopped moving and was waiting quietly.

‘This is strange…”

Whether by using Infinity Eye or Ultrasound Positioning Sorcery, Grimm couldn’t find any trace of the unknown creature at all. However, his Canine Olfactory ability was telling him that the creature must be nearby.

It seemed that this unknown creature must have its own unique way of hiding and surviving, because it had not been discovered by the previous Demon-Hunters.

At least, if it wasn’t for Myna’s droppings, it would be very hard for Grimm to track down a creature with such good hiding ability and high alertness.

It seemed like an invisible confrontation was formed. In the air, the atmosphere was getting slightly tense.

As the creature couldn’t sense Grimm’s presence, everywhere in the burrow seemed dangerous to it, hence it went hidden once again.

As for Grimm, his Canine Olfactory ability was clearly telling him that the creature was nearby, yet he still couldn’t locate the creature with any Perception Sorcery, which was very unbelievable to Grimm!

His Mask of Truth still had a long way to go before evolving into a masterpiece of sorcery equipment after all…

After thinking in that way for a while, Grimm was no longer impatient. He stayed calm in the middle of the air, waiting for the creature to expose itself.

Time went by little by little.

Gradually, it was getting closer and closer to the time when Grimm had agreed to gather with the other sorcerers. Grimm grew impatient again, his eyes scanned the dark burrow back and forth.

After pausing his heart beat, Grimm was relying on the Magic Power of his Demon-Hunting Outfit to maintain his blood circulation.

‘How does this creature really hide? It is clearly nearby, and it was impossible for it to have any phenomenal ability that is beyond the rules of this world, Burrow World is not that kind of strange and magical world anyway… ‘

As Grimm was thinking, a light appeared in the distance, slowly approaching.

“Hehehe! Demon-Hunter Grimm! What a pleasure to meet you! However, you should really teach that stinky Myna a good lesson some time. I could smell the stench of its droppings and urine from far away! It’s so stinky!”

This voice…

It turned out to be Leafie. The parrot was covering its nose with a wing and standing on the shoulder of its petite master, Lou Linman.

The elemental light on top of Lou Linman’s magic staff was really dazzling. Even from afar, it looked like a burning torch, lighting up the burrow area around it. On the ground, the ice crystals of the bushes reflected the light of the magic staff, creating a beautiful sight.

“Huh? The smell is beginning to move!”

It seemed like the creature was shocked by the Resonance Echo formed by Lou Linman, and started to flee again.

Out of Grimm’s habit of constantly switching the perception mode of the Mask of Truth, as Lou Linman appeared, Grimm switched his vision to the normal human light and color perception.

As Grimm was about to sigh and explain something to Lou Linman and chase after the unknown creature, he saw an unbelievable scene with his normal human sight!

Just a few meters away from Grimm, a giant gray fur ball was flying away quickly. The fur on its body was very thick and compact, looking just like a hedgehog rolled into a ball.

Grimm was completely surprised, he exclaimed, “Self-sealing ability?”

Self-sealing ability was also known as Self-sealing Sorcery in sorcery knowledge. It was a profound knowledge that was implemented with practical usage of sealing knowledge.

Grimm got to learn about Self-sealing knowledge from Master Peranos.

It all began with Sister Quiet Spring. Although Grimm only met Quiet Spring once, he had a very deep impression of her.

She had a strong and fit body wrapped around white strips of cloth, and she was carrying a black lightsaber on her back. It seemed like the destructive power within her was about to burst at any moment.

According to Master Peranos, Sister Quiet Spring’s real power had completely surpassed him.

Even when Sister Quiet Spring was in a self-sealing mode, her power would still make Master Peranos feel overwhelmed and unable to fight against!

Sister Quiet Spring’s Self-sealing Sorcery was called the “Quiet Spring’s Baptism Sealing Skill”.

At usual times, she would suppress her strength to only seventy percent, and once she unsealed her power in certain period of time, her ability could reach up to one hundred and fifty percent!

Moreover, according to Master Peranos, Sister Quiet Spring had already achieved Wild Instinct Level 4, even without unsealing her power, she was already one of the most powerful Reconnaissance Sorcerers.

Once Quiet Spring unsealed herself, her power was enough to let even the great Stigmata Sorcerers feel overwhelmed!

For this reason, numerous Stigmata Sorcerer in the Holy Tower of Seven Rings, including Black Isotta, had proposed lucrative offers to invite her to serve as the dean of their college.

Hence, due to Quiet Spring’s glorious achievements, in the eyes of many elders, Grimm had always been under her shadow.

Currently, Quiet Spring was among the most elite Reconnaissance Sorcerers who were being sent ahead to reconnoiter the remote and unknown world of the “Metal Destroyer” civilization.

Now, hundreds of years have passed, but the end of Quiet Spring’s expedition remained so far away it seemed forever.

Whether she could return remained unknown.

Grimm recollected himself from his mind-wandering and took a deep breath. Under the Mask of Truth, he looked at the gray fur ball and let out a long roar.

Boom!

In a second, Grimm held his Sabbatic Goat Staff high and ignited the Eternal Flames all over his body, looking just like a round of mini sun rising in the dark burrow!

The heat released by Grimm melted the ice crystals on the bushes, causing a stream of white fog in the area.

The eternal darkness among the bushes was broken by a ray of dazzling light. The light penetrated the gap between the bushes and shined on the ground. Some heliophobic plants even made faint cries after being exposed to the brightness.

At that moment, under the enchantment of the Sabbatic Goat Staff, Grimm’s Magic Power had reached a level that was even unbelievable to Level 1 sorcerers, exploding mercilessly towards all directions!

“You have nowhere to run now!”

Grimm roared and swooped down on the furry creature like a meteor in the sky. Behind his golden hair and fire wares, rounds of haloes spread, melting the ice crystals and burning the bushes beneath.

“Is this…is this Grimm’s true strength? No wonder he got the attention of the Black Isotta!”

Far away, the elemental light of Lou Linman’s magic staff had been completely covered by Grimm’s Eternal Flames, almost invisible.

Under her golden short hair, Lou Linman’s red lips murmured in shock. The dazzling light of the Eternal Flame filled her amber-colored eyes.

“Grimm…”

On Lou Linman’s shoulder, Leafie was amazed by Grimm’s Eternal Flames too.

Crack, crack, crack…

Fire were spreading quickly among the bushes. Grimm’s eyes were fixed on the unknown furry creature in front of him. From his loose sorcerer robe, he slowly stretched out his left palm that was burning with the Eternal Flame, aiming at the creature in front.

“Repulsive Force!”

Under the Mask of Truth, Grimm roared mercilessly, and by the next moment, the furry creature fell to the ground with a shriek of despair.

Boom!

On the ground, a seven-meter giant palm print centered on the furry creature was clearly visible.

Grimm exhaled and landed on the ground.

The flames around Grimm gradually calmed down. Grimm couldn’t hide the excitement in his voice.

“Gotcha.”
