Clack, clack…

Nairo obviously noticed Grimm too. She flew towards Grimm after a slight hesitation, looking like a metal ball floating in the middle of the air. The sound of metal chains rubbing against each other could be heard.

“Grimm.”

In the friction sound of the metal chains, Nairo greeted Grimm calmly.

It was obvious that Nairo had already noticed Grimm when Black Isotta pointed out Grimm’s name before the expedition.

Nodding his head, Grimm told Nairo with an expressionless face, “Nairo, I hereby recruit you to perform a Demon-Hunting mission under me. Hurry up and submit your mission, I will be waiting for you here.”

Nairo’s eyes flashed and focused on the Honor Badge on Grimm’s Sorcerer Barrier.

There was a long silence.

Grimm couldn’t tell what was Nairo’s feeling, but he couldn’t care less, it was all just rules of the Dark Demon-Hunters.

Suddenly, behind Grimm, a slightly plump sorceress who was recruited by him snorted coldly.

When Grimm turned around, he noticed the sorceress wasn’t the only one who was not pleased. The other Dark Sorcerers were all looking at Nairo in dissatisfaction.

The old sorcerer who was recruited first suddenly asked sarcastically, “Why are you so hesitant? Are you looking down upon the sorcerers like us who are not qualified to lead a mission?”

As he spoke, his skin began to turn translucent, and a light purple aura appeared around him, his eyes became brighter and brighter with an elemental glow.

Within seconds, as the old sorcerer’s skin became translucent, he turned younger at a speed visible to the naked eye. At the same time, his Magic Power increased, and strings of mysterious runes spread from under his robe to his skin,

Every Dark Demon-Hunter grew after going through rounds and rounds of brutal killing since the sorcerer-apprentice period.

Compared with Bright Sorcerers, Dark Sorcerers would only submit to the strong, but also looked forward to constantly challenge the strong and became a strong sorcerer themselves who would be respected by others.

Within every Dark Sorcerer was a cold and unyielding heart.

Grimm stomped the ground hard with his Sabbatic Goat Staff. The skull of the World Lord inadvertently released a trace of its power, and spread in all directions.

Buzz…

It didn’t take long before the agitated old sorcerer’s translucent skin turned back to normal, the magic runes that appeared from his sorcerer’s robe quickly shrank back. He looked at Grimm with astonishment.

The other six Demon-Hunters were also staring at Grimm’s Sabbatic Goat Staff in shock. They were all stunned by the mysterious and overwhelming force of the magic staff.

Under the Mask of Truth, Grimm stared at the old sorcerer and said coldly, “Now… I’m the leader!”

A drop of cold sweat rolled down from the old sorcerer’s forehead. He nodded silently and stopped talking, and completely ceased his Magic Power release.

Grimm scanned the seven people in silence with his red-and-blue eyes that represented ice and fire elements. No matter what they were thinking in their head, at least temporarily on the surface it seemed that they have given in and agree with Grimm’s identity as the team leader.

If Dark Sorcerers wanted to form a Demon-Hunting team, there must be a person to suppress the others by force and be the absolute leader. Otherwise, the Demon-Hunting team would fall apart very soon, and no mission will be accomplished at all.

Grimm already understood this during the regional school war.

After all of that, Grimm looked at Nairo once again. The Mask of Truth perfectly hid Grimm’s expression, he appeared mysterious and calm as always. Tension rose in the air as he continued to stare at Nairo with his two-colored eyes.

Word by word, Grimm said, “You, are now forcibly recruited by me!”

Nairo was also staring at Grimm. Finally, she lowered her head slowly, her golden hair covered the expression on her face. “Alright. I will submit the mission now and come back right away,” she said calmly.

Grimm didn’t say anything further, he just nodded in silence and watched as Nairo headed to the low sorcerer tower in the centre of the square.

“What a Goat Skull Staff. Demon-Hunter Grimm, may I join your team?”

Grimm was shocked by the sudden request. Instinctively, he turned around and looked at the sorceress who asked the question.

‘Hm?’

‘It’s her?’

On the sorceress’s shoulder, a parrot was covering its mouth with its wings and said in disgust, “Sis Lou, that annoying and disgusting myna stinks to death, I don’t want to get close to it.”

She had golden short hair that only reached her ears and a pair of seductive red lips. She had a petite figure, only a meter and a half tall. The pearl and gem accessories on her forehead was releasing a strong magic wave.

“Leafie, what did I tell you? Have you forgotten?” said the sorceress to the parrot on her shoulder.

“Alright, alright, I am a noble and holy redbud parrot. I won’t bother to argue with that filthy and dumb myna,” said the parrot proudly as it cocked its tail and wrap its wings around its body.

Grimm suddenly rubbed his chin while staring at the parrot strangely. After a few thoughts, he replied the female sorcerer, “Of course, this is the mission scroll.”

However, Grimm’s eyes were still on the parrot, as if he was thinking about something.

After receiving the mission scroll, the sorceress nodded and said, “Hi, I’m Lou Linman. I hope in the upcoming mission we can…”

Grimm suddenly asked, “Um…Leafie, are you a female redbud parrot?”

“Ah!?”

Lou Linman was stunned for a moment, and the parrot on her shoulder opened its eyes and asked excitedly, “What do you mean, Mister Sorcerer?”

Grimm smiled strangely and said, “Um, ha-ha, nothing, I just think that you are really beautiful.”

At that moment, a cracked and excited yell from far broken the strange atmosphere.

“Caw caw caw caw! Grimson Beast, attack! Caw caw caw caw caw…”

Grimm almost choked in anger. He glowered at Myna, his elemental eyes glimmered slightly.

‘This fella, did it just say Grimson Beast?!’

At that moment, Myna was standing on a mud monster covered in ice crystals. Laughing with pride and commanding the mud monster under his feet, Myna looked just like a captain of a pirate ship.

The kind of mud monsters from the Burrow World might at most be the same level as knights among humans, not even a Level 1 lifeform. They possessed no combat power at all.

In a space distortion, Grimm summoned Myna to his side.

“Myna, have you forgotten about this? Heheheheh…” threatened Grimm while clenching his teeth.

As Grimm spoke, a bone appeared in Grimm’s hand. He tossed and caught the bone repeatedly, giving Myna who was initially acting triumphantly a shiver.

“Caw caw! Y-young, Young master! This is a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding!”

Myna was really scared, it recalled that miserable, humiliating and awful memory.

Myna’s leg shook as it saw the bone in Grimm’s hand, it almost couldn’t stand properly.

Grrr…

Seeing that its “master” was caught by Grimm, the mud monster suddenly growled like a dog.

Grimm glared at the mud monster coldly, in a few wave space, the mud monster was split into pieces.

“Ah! My Grim…”

Myna wanted to scream, but it immediately recalled something and covered its mouth with its wings, staring with eyes wide opened.

Grimm didn’t really kill the mud monster, he simply split it into several pieces.

Quickly after that, the pieces of the mud monster wriggled towards each other like worms, and formed back into one piece again. It looked at Grimm with a pair of teary eyes, not daring to growl at him again.

The body structure of mud monsters were quite unique, Grimm did some research about them during his sorcerer-apprentice days.

It had both the characteristics of an elemental creature and a creature with flesh and blood.

It seemed like an animal, but had the characteristic of plants which grow by consuming energy from nature. However, it was not a plant as it has the characteristics of an animal.

“Hmph!”

Grimm grunted, place Myna lightly on his shoulder, and introduced it to Lou Linman. “This is my soul companion, Mavrica Nevichy. It is a remaining Steel Emblem Myna from the ancient Sorcerer World.”

Before Lou Linman spoke, the parrot on her shoulder laughed.

“Ha-ha-ha! That’s the way to teach this stupid Myna a lesson! Sorcerer Grimm, I really like you. Did you just asked about my gender and said that you are attracted by my beauty? Are you asking me out? Hee hee, I will consider it seriously, dear Sorcerer Grimm.”

Besides Grimm, the several other Demon-Hunters couldn’t help but look at each other, resisting the urge to laugh.

“Young master! You and the parrot…” Myna looked at Grimm with tears in its eyes. Grimm stared back at Myna and ignored it.

“Leafie! What did I tell you!” Lou Linman corrected the parrot again.

“Alright, alright. Don’t worry, Sis Lou. I won’t bother to argue with this filthy, dumb Myna.” With that, the parrot turned its head to one side.

At that time, Myna just noticed its “false look-a-like” from the other day. Initially he wanted to argue with the parrot, but soon recalled the disgraceful situation earlier that had been witnessed by everyone, and it yelled in frustration.

“Grimson Beast, from now on you are called Leaf Beast! Leaf Beast! Show the skill I just taught you!”

From afar, the mud monster raised its hind leg like a dog, and a stream of water came out…
