A moment later, Grimm and Alxa were holding a cage with two Pinna Hares inside.

They were standing still on the ground, trying to connect to the world fragment of their Demon-Hunter castle. It would take a long time to access the area from a foreign world. They were chit-chatting with each other as they tried to communicate with the Principal Will of the Sorcerer World.

“Ha-ha, with the protection and care of Black Isotta, this will surely be a smooth and fruitful expedition for you, Sir Grimm.”

A smile appeared on Alxa’s wrinkled face, but her pair of eyes gazing with elemental light were extremely calm, looking like a typical rational Demon-Hunter.

As Grimm unleashed Magic Power to communicate with the world fragment at his Demon-Hunter Castle, he shook his head and said, “The will of the great Black Isotta is not something we and other low-level sorcerers can predict.”

That was Grimm’s true thoughts.

Grimm couldn’t tell the reason, but he had an uneasy feeling when Black Isotta gave him a sinister smile. Moreover, Black Isotta mentioned that he would assign Grimm a special mission before the end of the Demon-Hunting expedition.

Even with Grimm’s contribution of providing the Devil Lord’s world’s coordinate during this sorcerer-apprentice period, and the information on the ancient ruins of Black Isotta’s Mysterious Realm, Grimm was not expecting Black Isotta to give him any special treatment.

The fact that Black Isotta even assign Thousand-eyed Carcinus to protect and follow him during this expedition made Grimm even more uneasy!

All these acts would be considered a little too much even for a tutor-and-student relationship, let alone two people who had nothing to do with each other.

While there may be some special treatment between Dark Sorcerers, but at least between Grimm and Black Isotta, there was nothing remarkable Grimm did to justify Black Isotta’s current care for him.

Hence, Grimm believed that Black Isotta was acting this way because his existence was related to some of the Black Isotta’s interests.

And in what way was Grimm related to the Black Isotta’s interests in the Burrow World?

Grimm had no idea at all.

All these explained the reason why Grimm told Alxa that “the great Black Isotta’s will is unpredictable”.

However, Alxa thought Grimm was just being modest and polite.

Not only had Black Isotta paid close attention to Grimm, he even arranged a Level-3 soul slave as Grimm’s guardian. In Alxa’s mind, the relationship between Grimm and Black Isotta must be incredibly close.

There was a slight silence.

After a while, as a wave of magic appeared in the air, surprisingly it was Grimm who first opened the World Fragment at his Demon-Castle. He threw the frozen Pinna Hare into the World Fragment.

“Huh?!”

At the same location within a foreign world, the speed of opening a Demon-Hunter Castle’s world fragment was directly related to a sorcerer’s intimacy with the Principle Will of Sorcerer World.

Meanwhile, the intimacy between a sorcerer with the Principle Will of Sorcerer World was equivalent to the thickness of the Sorcerer Barriers.

Although Grimm had a Rank 3 Honor Badge, Alxa did not expect a Level-1 Demon-Hunter like him to have more intimacy to the Principle Will compared to her. As a Level-2 Demon-Hunter, she had spent a very long period of time accumulating her intimacy with the Principle Will.

But now…

Alxa looked at Grimm in disbelief. ‘Is this guy actually an ancient old sorcerer who has lived for thousands of years?’

After throwing the Pinna Hare into the World Fragment at his Demon-Hunter Castle, Grimm closed the crack.

Of course, Alxa wouldn’t know that in addition to Grimm’s Rank 3 Honor Badge, Grimm was the elite sorcerer-apprentice that obtained the Sorcerer World’s World-Core Fragments.

Moreover, the number of Principle Will that Grimm obtained were quite impressive!

To Grimm, to accumulate the strength of Sorcerer Will by praying was a foolish thing to do and a complete waste of time. The behavior completely contradicted the sorcerers’ value of leveraging rules by constantly researching and discovering new knowledge. Hence, Grimm did not bother to pray at all.

For Demon-Hunters who were good at the Occult Code of Life and Death, or those who trained their Sorcerer Will by praying for many years, their vulnerability would be exposed once they encountered the Black Sorcerers or the Oceanic Race.

Only by constantly researching on higher knowledge and leveraging them, and strengthen one’s insignificant capability infinitely could a sorcerer truly evolve.

It was also the reason why humans in Sorcerer World evolved from their ancient ancestors who had strong bodies to the recent ordinary and weak humans.

The Wild Instinct Anatomy Refinery Sorcerers in today’s Sorcerer World were exactly looking to walk the evolutionary path of human ancestors, aiming to evolve their physical body following the path of human ancestors.

As for the general trend of humans in the Sorcerer World, according to the speculation of Sorcerer Wisdom, was to gradually abandon their physical body, and evolve to spirits.

When that time comes, every human in the Sorcerer World would be sorcerer-apprentice by the time they were born.

Of course, that was only speculation by a Stigmata Sorcerer, which Grimm read about in a scroll at the Holy Tower of Seven Rings. Even in the Stigmata Sorcerer’s opinion, this future was too far away to know, even way after two more civilization wars in the Sorcerer World.

Grimm smiled and was about to say something to Alxa, but was suddenly stunned and said, “Excuse me, it seemed like something happened to my soul companion Mavrica Nevichy. I need to go and have a look.”

“Huh? Alright, alright.”

Alxa nodded and stayed at the same spot, still trying to connect to the World Fragment at her Demon-Hunter Castle.

Grimm replaced the space coordinates under his feet, and then the space coordinates returned to normal. Grimm’s figure blurred and disappeared into thin air.

At the next moment, Grimm heard a series of crying.

“What’s the matter?” Grimm asked, slightly dazzled as he landed on the new location. Myna was sobbing on his shoulder, it was his first time seeing Myna like that.

“Waaah! Leaf! Leaf Beast was eaten by that guy. I want to send him to accompany my Leaf Beast. Waaah…”

Myna was bawling while wiping away its tears with its wing.

It was eaten?

Grimm lit the elemental light of his Sabbatic Goat Staff. He looked down and saw blood all over the ground. The mud monster was gone.

A carnivore?

Grimm immediately thought of the black feces. He was planning to give up at first, but now that he got a clue from Myna, he couldn’t help but rejoice, “Oh? What does the creature look like? I will seek revenge for you!”

Waaah! I didn’t see it clearly, but I have cast my “Curse of Bird Droppings” on it, it can never run away, ever! I want it to be a company to my Leaf Beast in the other world, if not I will eat it myself! Waaah …”

Right away, Grimm recalled a spell which he had learned about when he opened the dimensional gap and signed a contract with Myna for the first time—the “Lord Myna’s Curse of Bird Droppings”.

That was a stench that normal creatures couldn’t smell, but with Canine Olfactory Sorcery, Grimm could smell it clearly.

What’s more amazing was Myna’s ability to communicate with a mysterious power to cast the curse. The curse was effective regardless of any protective barrier of the target, and was very hard to get rid of as well.

Grimm didn’t understand why Myna suddenly became so interested in that mud beast slave.

However, Grimm still comforted Myna immediately. “Alright, alright, we will make it pay for what it did to Leaf Beast.”

As Grimm stopped talking, he calmed down and tried to distinguish the unique stench in the air.

After a brief moment, Grimm confirmed the direction and flew to it at full speed. However, Grimm was amazed by the fact that the creature seemed to have noticed Grimm’s presence, and was constantly running away from him at a lightning speed.

With Grimm chasing and his target escaping, although Grimm was very near to it, it was impossible for him to catch up due to the delay caused by lingering smell.

“Waaah, young master, we have to catch that fella today and seek revenge for my Leaf Beast. Waaah…” bawled Myna.

“Yes, we will.”

Grimm’s expression under the Mask of Truth became more serious. The creature was likely to be a rare creature in this burrow, and the Pinna Hares should be its prey.

Or even, it was a rare creature that roamed the entire Burrow.

Grimm couldn’t help but feel excited at the thought.

However, the challenging part was that the creature’s ability to escape was really good, and it could accurately sense Grimm’s location, and had been constantly changing its location.

On the other hand, Grimm was relying on his Canine Olfactory Sorcery to chase the creature. Once it changes its direction, the lingering smell in the air would cause Grimm to take unnecessary route and make it even harder for him to catch up.

Things were getting a little tricky.

Using the wisdom of a sorcerer, Grimm started to think carefully.

Since Grimm’s target was a creature living in a pitch dark burrow, then according to the evolution of the creatures in the Burrow, it must rely on sound wave or some frost perception ability to confirm his location.

Ninety percent of the possibility would be the Sound Wave Sorcery.

Furthermore, it was obvious that the sound wave was not Ultrasound Positioning Sorcery, or else Grimm would have been able to sense it faintly with his Mask of Truth.

Then…

“Myna, you get back into the Dimensional Gap first,” said Grimm.

“Why?” asked Myna in tears.

“Do you still want to catch that fella and seek revenge for your mud monster?” asked Grimm, feeling a little annoyed.

“Of course! Alright, young master. If you caught that thing, do remember to call for me. Waaah…” In a flash, Myna entered the Dimensional Gap.

After Myna left, Grimm performed the Dissimilation Sorcery and briefly stopped his heart rate!

Using the Canine Olfactory Sorcery, Grimm was slowly sensing the creature’s movements.

‘Hm? So it’s not the Resonance Echo of my heartbeat? Well, my soul fire is in Myna, so it’s not Soul Echo for sure.’

Grimm was planning to find out the way the creature perceived soundwaves by experimenting one by one.

During his previous exchange of knowledge with Fake Faceless Nilmar, Grimm learned about the fundamental knowledge on Soundwave Sorcery, so he at least he was not completely clueless.

‘Or is it the Power Echo?’

As Grimm speculated, he slowly kept all his magic props into the Dimensional Gap, and controlled his Mental Strength…

‘It’s still not working! Earth Echo? No way, I am not even standing on the ground. World Echo? The creature is a World Guardian? That’s impossible… Mystery Echo? Spiritual Echo? Thought Echo? Doom Echo? Instinct Echo…’

Grimm began to grow impatient as he eliminated one possibility after another.

The perception of sound was way too diverse. There were even some strange sound perception methods that Grimm had heard of, but had no idea how to hide from them.

‘Hm? Wait a minute, I think I’ve overlooked something!’

As Grimm scolded himself for his stupidity, he murmured, “Resonance Echo! How can I forget about the air vibration ripples around me whenever I move…”

The next moment, Grimm disappeared as the space around him twisted, and reappeared in a hundred meter away.

The stench in the air gradually stopped spreading.
