“Where shall we go, Lord Grimm?”

Thousand-eyed Carcinus stood in the middle of the air of the Pinna Burrow as it asked dully, while sending the bushes with ice crystals into its mouth with its claw.

Grimm shook his head and said, “You can wait here. If I need your help, I will summon you through the Marked Friendship Key.”

Grimm said so because the body of the Thousand-eyed Carcinus was huge, not to mention it didn’t have the ability to restrain its aura. He was afraid that even if there were some rare species left in the burrow, they would be scared away by the Carcinus.

“Oh, okay. Munch, munch…”

Thousand-eyed Carcinus kept munching the frosty leaves with its tiny mouth.

Grimm took a look at Myna which was playing with the mud monster on the other side and asked, “How about you?”

“Me?”

Myna was slightly shocked. It rubbed its chin with one wing and acted like it was pondering. After a moment, it seemed to have come up with a good idea. Myna gave a suspicious smile and said, “Caw caw! You may go ahead on your own, young master. I will stroll around with my Leaf Beast.”

Grimm curled his lips. “This little brat…”

“Alright, you be careful, and be sure to return on time.”

As Grimm finished, he stopped paying attention to Myna. Holding the Sabbatic Goat Staff, Grimm flew towards the deeper area of the dark burrow alone.

Far away, several sorcerers who lit the space with elemental light were flying further and further away, eventually became dim little light spots.

Thud!

Grimm landed on the hard rock of the burrow and noticed that a few tiny creatures were frightened away. Using his Ultrasonic Sorcery, he could sense that those were the common and ubiquitous Snowthreads.

Lighting up the area with elemental light, Grimm used normal human vision to observe the surrounding vegetation.

Most of the plants under the layer of ice crystals were dark-colored, and obviously the plants weren’t using photosynthesis to grow, so they must be growing by absorbing nutrients from the soil.

Realizing that the vision of elemental light in such an environment is far less convenient than Ultrasonic Sorcery, Grimm extinguished the elemental lights.

After sniffing, Grimm took a few steps and picked up a pile of black gel from the ground.

“Huh?”

Grimm found that under the rock, there were some roots sticking out. They were moving slow at a speed that was visible to the naked eye, crawling towards the black gel that he just picked up.

As Grimm picked up the black gel, the roots quickly retracted back into the cracks of the rocks.

Grimm stood at the same place and pondered for a while. A fire bat slowly appeared on the top of the Sabbatic Goat Staff, emitting light and heat.

After a buzz, the fire bat flapped its wings and crashed into the low bushes beside Grimm.

Boom!

A fierce and blazing flame lit up at a level that was beyond the capability of a normal Level-1 sorcerer, not to mention the Sabbatic Goat Staff had increased the power of the flame even more.

Grimm stood still, his eyes fixed on the burning bush.

The ice crystal protective layer of the bushes was completely defenseless against Grimm’s Fire Bat Spell. However, it seemed that the amount of oil in the plants here were very low, and its material was very different from those in the Sorcerer World, they were very difficult to burn.

Nevertheless, with the characteristic of Grimm’s Eternal Flame, the bushes were still burned to ashes after a moment. Nothing unusual happened.

‘It seems that although the roots have some unique evolution, there were still just common plants, nothing valuable.’

Some plants had the ability to self-defend.

Usually, when many Demon-Hunters found plants like these, they would either make them into potted plants or guardians of their yards, and even some powerful guardian plants could be traded for Sorcerer Essences.

However, Grimm continued to bombard the ground with his Sabbatic Goat Staff.

After several attacks, the hard frozen rock on the ground began to soften, and Grimm found a root of the low bushes.

Like a python, the root kept shrinking into the ground, as if it were hiding and unwilling to expose itself.

Grimm smiled and smashed the middle part of the thick root with his magic staff. In a moment, the root struggled like it was shocked by electric twice, and broken into two parts, a milky-white liquid flowed out.

“Huh?”

Grimm smelled the sweet scent of the white liquid in surprised. After thinking about it, he pulled the broken roots out from the rocks despite its struggle.

Rattle, rattle, rattle…

The broken root was about three meters long, it was jumping on the ground like a broken lizard tail.

Grimm took out a crystal bottle, held on to the cut of the broken root and squeezed it hard. Fresh white liquid flowed into the crystal bottle, and a fragrant smell filled the air.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

As Grimm squeezed the milky liquid from the root, the second half of the root kept hitting Grimm. However, the impact was so small that Grimm couldn’t feel a thing. Grimm was pleased with his unexpected finding.

“These would go well with desserts.”

“Oh right, I should bring some for Master Peranos and Alice. I think Brother Valor would be interested in them too.”

After pulling out several thick roots from the ground and collected several bottles of milky white juice, Grimm stopped digging the roots and kept a living root for transplantation.

As Grimm walked through the frost-covered bushes, he observed the black gel in this hand.

After a while, Grimm opened the dimensional gap and threw the black gel inside.

“This feces is rich in active energy, but it doesn’t contain any mineral. It should be left by some carnivore. However, according to the crystal ball information, only a herbivore species called the Pinna Hares were found in this burrow. There is no information about any carnivore at all.”

Frowning and pondering, Grimm’s figure gradually disappeared in the dark bushes.

Five hourglasses later.

In the dark, Grimm used Ultrasonic Sorcery to search for the trace of the owner of the black feces, but found nothing. Instead, he found some interesting burrow plants with several energy crystals packed with ice elements.

Suddenly, a magic wave fluctuation in the distance caught Grimm’s attention.

After considering for a while, Grimm took off and flew towards the direction of the magic wave.

Grimm stopped in the middle of the air.

In front of Grimm, there were thirty-six Bright Sorcerers working together to form a huge magic net. The strings of the magic net were closing with each other. The net was made of the thunder element, allowing it to perfectly pass through obstacles like trees and vegetation without damage.

From time to time, a buzzing sound could be heard whenever a Pinna Hare tried to break through the magic net, and fainted after being shocked by the thunder net.

Some Pinna Hare released a strange sound wave, which should be the Frost Echo that Alxa mentioned. Frost Echo was very effective against Ice Sorcery.

Sound wave attacks were generally more effective on physical objects than energy forms, and the Frost Echo of the Pinna Hares was no exception.

The thunder magic net wasn’t threatened by the Pinna Hares’ Frost Echo at all.

As the coverage area of the thunder net shrank, the Pinna Hares hopped in the center of the net in panic and despair.

The Pinna Hares had a body full of gray fur, their size was about thirty centimeters to seventy centimeters. They had six legs and a very small head, yet they had a pair of huge ears that looked like the size of a dinner plate. Their ears had an amazing ability to cast Frost Echo.

Gradually, the area of the magic net became smaller and smaller.

These little creatures had nowhere to run. They huddled together in the center of the net, looking at the net in panic, and the terrifying sorcerers who were drawing the net closer and closer.

“There are a lot of them, more than a hundred.”

A Bright Sorcerer laughed and looked at the frightened Pinna Hares in magic net happily, looking just like an old farmer who just harvested his crops.

Near Grimm, a Bright Demon-Hunter who was in charge of collecting the magic net turned to Grimm. After confirming Grimm’s identify as a Dark Sorcerer, the Demon-Hunter asked, “What’s the matter, Sir Demon-Hunter?

At that time, more than ten Mechanical Marionettes had rushed into the magic net. After stunning the Pinna Hares with electric current, they threw the hares into metal cages.

Grimm wasn’t the only Dark Sorcerer around.

Far away, Alxa, who had just parted with Grimm not long ago seemed to have waited for quite some time. She looked at Grimm and nodded.

After Grimm nodded back, his eyes flickered under the Mask of Truth. “Now that I see them, I would like to buy two of these little creatures from you as experimental specimens.”

“Ha-ha-ha! Sure, I’ll give you a discount, five Sorcerer Coins will do,” said the Bright Sorcerer generously.
