Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

”Chen Jiusi!”

Dharma Ba’s strike was intercepted, and he squinted at the person who intercepted it. At a glance, he recognized who it was. If not Chen Jiusi, then who!

Chen Jiusi has become quite famous now. Dharma Ba looked at him and said, ”Last time at the Prime Minister’s Mansion, we didn’t meet. Today we meet here, did you rescue Hama?”

Chen Jie nodded lightly, ”That’s right.”

”What about my junior brother?”

Dharma Ba asked Chen Jie. Chen Jie pondered briefly and then spoke, ”He’s already died in battle!”

Upon hearing this, Dharma Ba’s eyes shrank, he took a deep breath, and said, ”Did you kill him?”

Chen Jie replied, ”He wanted to kill me, and then I counterattacked and killed him!”

Dharma Ba said, ”Very well, since that’s the case, you won’t be leaving alive today either. Killing repays a life, debt repays money, do you accept this?”

Dharma Ba stared at Chen Jie and asked. Chen Jie smiled, ”Of course, I do, but before we start, there’s something I’m unclear about. Could I ask you a question or two?”

Dharma Ba glanced at Chen Jie and said, ”Go ahead!”

Chen Jie looked at him and said, ”I want to ask you, you’re also part of the court, and you’re a disciple of the Living Buddha. Elder Hama is the Right Minister of the court. Do you know what impact your secret assassination of him will bring? Are you hoping for peace in Daqian or chaos?”

”Are you a loyal minister of Daqian or its criminal?”

Chen Jie’s voice reached Dharma Ba’s ears directly, leaving Dharma Ba stunned. He looked at Chen Jie for a long time before speaking, ”What does this have to do with you?”

Chen Jie replied, ”It’s indeed not my business. I’m just curious. I just want to know, if your actions were known to the Living Buddha, what would his evaluation be? The Living Buddha has devoted himself for Daqian, protecting the nation for a hundred years with all his heart.”

”As his disciple, you may not be able to help him, but even with the most malicious thoughts, you shouldn’t harm him!”

”Elder Hama, the Old Chancellor, has devoted himself to the country as the leader of the Noble Faction. If you kill him today...”

”How can the Noble Faction rest easy? Maybe they won’t dare to do anything against you because you’re the Living Buddha’s disciple, but at the very least, they’ll resort to hypocrisy. They at least control a third of Daqian’s national power. If they really want to stir up trouble, Daqian won’t be peaceful!”

”Then who will suffer? Wouldn’t it be your master, the Living Buddha, who has to clean up the mess for you, suffering all the troubles? As a disciple, you can’t relieve your master’s worries but constantly cause trouble for him. Honestly, I’ve never seen someone so shameless like you!”

Chen Jie unleashed a barrage of criticism on Dharma Ba, who was already not skilled with words, and he couldn’t refute Chen Jie’s words. His eyes reddened with frustration, but more importantly, he found Chen Jie’s words quite reasonable. He truly felt like a disciple who constantly caused trouble, needing his master to clean up after him.

However, Dharma Ba had his own grievances, as he owed a favor to someone. Just as he was about to speak, Chen Jie suddenly continued, ”I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking of saying that you owe someone a favor, that you’re here to kill Hama to repay that favor.”

Dharma Ba looked at Chen Jie in surprise, ”How do you know this?”

Chen Jie replied, ”Isn’t it easy to guess? The person who wants Hama dead is obvious now, and that’s the Left Minister Tuotuo. You’re here to kill Hama, clearly under Tuotuo’s orders, but why could Tuotuo order you?”

”In terms of position, the Qincha Eight Guards are the Emperor’s personal guard, and no one except the Emperor has the authority to command you. Even if Tuotuo’s power is overwhelming, he has no persuasive power over you.”

”Moreover, you have an identity even more distinguished than the Qincha Eight Guards, and that’s as a disciple of the Living Buddha. This status as a disciple means you are not subject to anyone’s orders. As long as you don’t want to, not even the Emperor can force you to do anything.”

”But you’re here today, and what does that indicate? It shows you came willingly. Why?”

Chen Jie looked at Dharma Ba and said, ”I’ve thought it through, and there’s only one possibility: you personally owe Tuotuo a significant favor, and you’re repaying that favor.”

”Am I right?”

Chen Jie asked Dharma Ba. Dharma Ba heard this and pondered for a moment before speaking, ”Even if everything you said is right, so what? Since you know I’m repaying a favor, you should understand my resolve. I, Dharma Ba, never leave things half-done in my life.”

”Even if it implicates your master, you’re willing to go through with it?”

Chen Jie looked at Dharma Ba and asked. Dharma Ba was stunned, looked at Chen Jie and said, ”What do you mean by this?”

Chen Jie laughed, ”What do you mean? I mean you’re very foolish, no, I should say you’re very bad, wicked and treacherous!”

”Don’t think that spouting nonsense will influence me!”

Chen Jie looked at Dharma Ba and said, ”Hmph, you think I’m influencing you?”

”Isn’t that the case?”

Dharma Ba asked while looking at Chen Jie, and Chen Jie shook his head, ”I’m not that bored!”

”I’m just reminding you not to do things you’ll regret later.”

”Think carefully about the impact of killing Hama today. The Noble Group will surely turn against you, and the entire internal affairs of Daqian will become turbulent. Then your master, the Living Buddha, will have to exhaust himself to handle these things, laboring tirelessly, all due to your impulsive actions.”
