Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

”No, no, he’s not dead!”

The messenger, seeing Tuotuo so agitated, had no choice but to answer, ”After hearing this, Tuotuo took a deep breath and said, ’Help me invite Master Dharma Ba!’”

The messenger said, ”Lord Prime Minister, Master Dharma Ba has already gone to the Imperial Palace. Now, I’m afraid he may not be willing to come.”

Upon hearing this, Tuotuo pondered for a moment and said, ”Just wait a moment.”

After speaking, Tuotuo picked up a pen and wrote a few words on a document, then quickly took out a Copper Coin from inside the desk. Judging by its style, it should have been issued during the Grand Ancestor’s reign, about seventy or eighty years ago.

At this time, Tuotuo said, ”Bring this letter into the palace. As for the rest, you don’t need to worry, understand?”

”Yes.”

Saying this, Tuotuo paused and said, ”By the way, be quick, go immediately.”

”Yes!”

Hearing Tuotuo’s words, his subordinate quickened his pace and ran straight towards the direction of the Imperial Palace, moving at an incredible speed.

Watching the messenger’s back, Tuotuo murmured, ”Whether it succeeds or not, it all depends on today!”

After saying this, Tuotuo sat down, a trace of unease in his eyes. This feeling he hadn’t experienced in many years, remembering the last time was ten years ago, when he was contending with his political rival for court power.

He remembered it was also a political crisis, and like this time, retreat meant eternal damnation. However, that time he won, easily gaining fame before and after death, achieving the current status of being under one but above ten thousand in Daqian, singularly enjoying half of the national fortune as the Left Minister.

Last time, he won, and this time he would also win!

No matter what, he would win.

”Lord Prime Minister, the King Slaughter Conference is about to start. When will you set off?”

Tuotuo was pondering when a voice came from outside. Tuotuo then stood up and said, ”I’m going now.”

After speaking, he walked out, quickly mounted his horse, and brazenly rode through the streets as if nothing had happened. Today, he would supervise the execution of the Zoroastrian Sect’s Little Ming King!

Once the Little Ming King was killed, he could gain fame throughout the world. Then, after today’s events concluded, his prestige would peak, and only then would it be time to consider reducing the power of the vassals.

However, the most important thing now was to stop Hama, to prevent this old man from making trouble!

Imperial Palace!

Dharma Ba knelt before the Living Buddha, repentant, and said, ”Master, I knelt all night and realized that I should prioritize the Emperor’s safety and should not have abandoned my post.”

The Living Buddha looked at Dharma Ba without reproach and said, ”Dharma Ba, do you know the difference between you and the other seven junior brothers?”

Dharma Ba replied, ”I don’t know.”

The Living Buddha said, ”You actually have no affinity with Buddha, you are an ordinary person, and seeking the Buddhist Path is too difficult for you. You’re not like Second Brother, with a heart purely evil, nor like Third Brother, with a heart purely good. Pure evil can reach enlightenment at the right moment, and this is the Buddhist saying of putting down the butcher knife and becoming a Buddha.”

”A perfected pure good person can also become a Buddha. Only you, neither good nor evil, are inherently one of the common people, making it exceedingly difficult to become a Buddha.”

”However, after pondering for a long time, I thought of one possibility: you could cultivate the true self.”

”True self?”

Dharma Ba was puzzled and asked the Living Buddha, ”What is the true self?”

The Living Buddha smiled, ”Just be yourself. Alright, get up, and go do what you need to do.”

Surprised, Dharma Ba said, ”Master, I haven’t yet begged forgiveness from Your Majesty.”

Upon hearing this, the Living Buddha said, ”You’ve knelt here all night, what more is there to forgive? Go on, I’ll take care of the rest.”

After hearing this, Dharma Ba stood up, albeit perplexed. But since his master said he would handle it, Dharma Ba had no doubt whatsoever. In this world, there was nothing Dharma Ba believed his master couldn’t resolve. After all, his master was an Earthly Immortal.

With this thought, Dharma Ba looked at the Living Buddha and asked, ”Master, where should I go?”

The Living Buddha waved, ”Go wherever your heart desires.”

After speaking, he continued to walk forward without pause, quickly arriving at the Emperor’s bedchamber. Then, a kneeling eunuch outside said, ”Lord Living Buddha, His Majesty has just fallen asleep.”

The Living Buddha replied, ”Alright, if he has any complaints, he can come to me.”

The Living Buddha inexplicably uttered a sentence, leaving the eunuch bewildered and puzzled about what was going on.

However, the Living Buddha offered no explanation, and after he turned to leave, shortly thereafter, the Emperor’s voice echoed within the palace.

”How long did that Dharma Ba kneel?”

”Your Majesty, from 1 a.m. to 5 to 7 AM, about three chronos.”

”Hmph, merely three chronos. Does he think by repenting he can atone for his crimes, putting me in danger? Killing him would still be lenient!”

”What Your Majesty says is absolutely right, but the Living Buddha has just allowed him to leave freely, without any punishment!”

”Hmph!”

Listening to these words, the Emperor let out a heavy snort, full of dissatisfaction, yet no one dared speak further. Then the Emperor grumbled, ”If not for being the Living Buddha’s disciple, others would have already beheaded him!”

Upon hearing this, the little eunuchs attending inside the palace dared not respond.

Indeed, if he were not the Living Buddha’s disciple, others would have already been beheaded, but being the Living Buddha’s disciple makes everything different.

Even if the Emperor was displeased, he dared not act out.

At that moment, he could only snort heavily, and then the kneeling little eunuch outside finally understood the Living Buddha’s intentions.

It turns out the Living Buddha already knew that His Majesty was not asleep, and his words were aimed at His Majesty.

Realizing this, the little eunuch looked at the Living Buddha’s departing figure, feeling that his stature only grew larger. To know the affairs inside without stepping in, truly the work of an Immortal.
