Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Amitabha Buddha!

Seeing the flames rising in the palace and corpses strewn everywhere, Basiba sighed and directly intoned the Buddha’s name. With the reverberation of the Buddha’s chant, it seemed there was a miraculous rhythm pulsating throughout the heavens and earth.

And for the uneasy palace maids and eunuchs around, this pulsation brought a sense of security from deep within their hearts.

As for the burning houses, the vibration directly exerted a devastating suppression on the flames.

Boom!

In an instant, the flames throughout the Imperial Palace began to gradually extinguish.

Simultaneously, this Buddha’s chant reached the Ancestor Tower, where the Emperor, trembling in fear of the rioters, suddenly jerked awake and scrambled to the doorway.

Women around quickly persuaded, ”Your Majesty, what are you doing?”

Hearing this, the Emperor did not answer but mumbled, ”The Living Buddha is here, the Living Buddha is here.”

Soon, the Emperor arrived at the Iron Tower’s entrance, and through the observation hole left in the Iron Tower, he saw that there were no burglars outside, only a young monk in a moon-white robe.

Seeing this young monk, the Emperor immediately shouted, ”Quick, quickly open the Ancestor Tower, I want to see the Living Buddha!”

As soon as these words were spoken, someone immediately activated the mechanisms inside the Iron Tower, and soon all the metal plates of the Iron Tower began to rise.

Ignoring others, the Emperor pushed open the door and rushed out, with incredible speed, and fell to the Living Buddha, ”Living Buddha, I really thought I wouldn’t see you anymore. Boo hoo hoo...”

The sobbing was utterly miserable, shocking everyone for a moment, and then almost everyone knelt down to salute and worship the Living Buddha.

At this moment, an unusual scene formed; a group of people knelt on the ground to salute a young monk.

Looking at the sobbing Emperor, the young monk did not say much but reached out to stroke his head, followed by an immense Buddha’s Power spreading out, instantly warming the Emperor’s cold body and gradually calming his terrified heart.

Feeling all this, the Emperor lowered his head even more.

This is the Emperor’s Divine Power.

After sensing all of this, Basiba’s eyes scanned the entire Imperial Palace, wondering how he did not detect a single enemy; did the rebels retreat so quickly?

With these thoughts, suddenly, he heard intense hoofbeats nearby, and soon a group of people rushed into the Imperial Palace, with the Emperor already being helped up by Basiba. After all, a nation’s ruler must maintain his dignity, and kneeling on the ground would not be dignified.

As the Emperor regained his dignity, it was not someone else but Prime Minister Tuotuo who entered the palace.

At this moment, Tuotuo led his soldiers into the palace, ran directly in front of the Emperor, and knelt down, ”Your minister Tuotuo is late to rescue, deserving of a thousand deaths, deserving of a thousand deaths!”

Seeing Tuotuo kneeling on the ground, the Emperor’s face suddenly became cloudy.

In such a plight, Tuotuo undeniably played a role, and he furiously scowled at Tuotuo, ”Tuotuo, you arrived so timely!”

Tuotuo immediately responded, ”Your Majesty, your minister, arrived late, arrived late!”

The Emperor originally wanted to lose his temper but held back his anger, realizing there were more crucial matters to attend to. He then shouted, ”Tuotuo, whether you deserve death or were late will be discussed later; right now, capture those rebels who invaded the palace; I want them dead!”

”Yes, I will deal with it immediately.”

Having said this, Tuotuo promptly proceeded, but once he turned his back, his face turned sour. An adjutant beside him approached, ”Lord Prime Minister, His Majesty towards you!”

Tuotuo didn’t say much, only remarked, ”Things have come to this, saying more is pointless, let’s catch people first.”

Indeed, Tuotuo thought so, let’s catch people first. After this incident, his relationship with the Emperor would never be the same again; he certainly would not receive the Emperor’s trust as before.

Why?

The reason is simple: firstly, allowing the rebels into the Great Capital was largely due to Tuotuo’s indulgence. If it weren’t for Tuotuo insisting on a King Slaughter Conference, letting the Northern Red Scarf rebels into the city, there wouldn’t be actions like burglarizing the palace and attacking the Emperor now.

So, in this matter, Tuotuo holds primary responsibility; just this point alone, the Emperor could kill him, and he wouldn’t have grounds for grievance.

And there’s another point, the main cause of discord between him and the Emperor, precisely because of Daqian’s Master Dharma Ba. He was one of the Qincha Eight Guards, the Emperor’s trusted aides, yet you, Tuotuo, reassigned him to your Prime Minister’s Mansion for protection.

So, is the Emperor important, or are you, Prime Minister Tuotuo, important? Just this one point allows the Emperor to kill you, and no one would object.

This is sheer deception and negligence towards the sovereign!

This is why the Emperor showed no kindness to Tuotuo earlier; the Emperor is very dissatisfied with him now, extremely dissatisfied.

As for Tuotuo, he now has only one thought: tomorrow’s King Slaughter Conference and suppressing feudal powers. If these two matters succeed, then he needn’t concern himself with the Emperor’s opinions; the Emperor would merely be a puppet under Tuotuo.

Thinking of this, Tuotuo furrowed his brows, puzzled by how these rebels dared to attack the Imperial Palace; if it weren’t for the Living Buddha, they might have succeeded in assassinating the Emperor, and Daqian would have plunged into chaos.

Who devised such a plan? Truly malicious.
