Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

The Living Buddha went to rest, and at this time, Dharma Ba walked out of the Imperial Palace, arriving at the square outside.

Just then, a guard hurriedly caught up to him and said, ”Master Dharma Ba.”

Dharma Ba paused and looked at him. The guard looked at him and said, ”Master, the Prime Minister...”

Upon hearing this, Dharma Ba immediately stopped, looked at the guard, and said, ”Tell your Lord Prime Minister, I no longer wish to handle his matters, nor should he come to seek me again.”

Having said this, Dharma Ba was about to leave, but the guard then spoke, ”Master, please wait.”

Upon hearing this, Dharma Ba looked at the guard and said, ”Is there something else?”

The guard, upon hearing this, looked at Dharma Ba and said, ”Lord Prime Minister asked me to give this to you.”

After saying this, the guard handed a letter to Dharma Ba. Dharma Ba looked at the letter, frowned, but still accepted it. As he opened it, a half coin fell out.

Dharma Ba was stunned because this half coin represented a promise he made. Back then, he was a wanderer at Mulan Ranch.

He was on the brink of starving to death on the grassland when an old man from Mulan saved him with a bowl of mare’s milk, gave him much dry food, and pointed him towards the Basiba Living Buddha who was then preaching on the grassland.

He was given a chance to be reborn. In gratitude for this family’s help, he split the only copper coin he had with a knife, kept one half, and gave the other half to the old man’s family.

He promised that should the old man’s descendants come to him with this copper coin in the future, he would agree to do one thing for them, no matter how difficult it was.

And Tuotuo is a descendant of that family. Now that he has brought out this coin, the meaning is simple.

Tuotuo is asking him to repay the kindness.

Dharma Ba sighed; debts of gratitude are debts that must be repaid.

Thinking this, Dharma Ba took out the letter Tuotuo gave him. The letter contained no mention of what Dharma Ba should do, ninety percent of it reminisced about the time when his life was saved, although it never said he should repay this favor, Dharma Ba saw that the whole letter was about it!

Repay the debt!

Debts of gratitude are hard to repay; how could Dharma Ba not know?

At the very end of the letter, there was only one sentence mentioning that Tuotuo was now in a life-and-death crisis, and Hama was planning to harm him, and Tuotuo ended the letter in the tone of entrusting his family.

”I know, Master, you have helped me a lot. This time, I don’t want to trouble you. Today I return this copper coin. If Tuotuo faces life and death, please take good care of Tuotuo’s family. If his life ends, before the Grandfather, he could at least account that the young man he saved back then is now able to protect his family!”

Looking at this letter, Dharma Ba was no fool, and he didn’t want to pretend. Could he not know Tuotuo’s real intention?

He then gave a bitter smile and said, ”Repaying a meal’s kindness over ten years; am I not one of the few good men in the world, why does my master say I am just an ordinary man?”

Thinking this, Dharma Ba looked at the guard beside him and said, ”Where has Hama’s carriage reached?”

Upon hearing this, the guard immediately replied, ”It should be between ten and fifteen li southeast of Li City!”

Since it took time for the message to pass from Tuotuo to Dharma Ba, during which Hama couldn’t have waited in place for Dharma Ba, they would have moved forward. Judging by the speed, Hama should now be between ten and fifteen li from the city.

Listening to this, Dharma Ba looked at the guard and said, ”Go back and report to your master. I have reclaimed this copper coin, and from now on, all ties are severed. As for Hama, I will handle him.”

Upon hearing this, the guard quickly bowed and said, ”Thank you, Master. I will go now.”

The guard quickly left, and Dharma Ba looked at the most ordinary Grand Ancestor Coin in his hand, then forcefully squeezed it. The half copper coin in front of him immediately deformed, and after his kneading, it finally turned into a copper lump, which he directly threw to the ground.

From this moment on, his debt of gratitude with Tuotuo was repaid!

Dharma Ba then turned to look in the direction of the Imperial Palace. He didn’t know whether his actions were right or wrong. Subconsciously, he wanted to seek his master, who was his mainstay, but his master didn’t exist anymore.

After some time, Dharma Ba recalled a phrase his master had told him.

”Be the true self.”

To be the true self means to do what you wish, doesn’t it?

Thinking this, Dharma Ba bowed in the manner of a Buddhist towards the direction of the Imperial Palace, then directly exited the Imperial City.

Meanwhile, the news quickly reached the Imperial Palace Inner Court. Upon hearing the report that Dharma Ba had left the palace, the Emperor was so enraged that he smashed a teacup.

”Outrageous, does he no longer hold me in regard, hold me in regard?”

The Emperor was infuriated, and all the palace attendants around attempted to console him, ”Your Majesty, please calm down, please calm down.”

At this time, Basiba, who was sitting inside the Imperial Palace in meditation, reciting Buddhist Law, slowly opened his eyes, glanced towards the palace gate direction, then closed his eyes again.

He didn’t hold any of this in his mind; everything has its karmic ties and its own ending.

Amitabha Buddha!

At this moment, the Greens Market Gate in the Capital was crowded with people, and countless others thronged around the Execution Platform, preparing to witness the court execute the remnants of the Ming Sect, Han Shantong’s progeny, the Little Ming King.

The place was teeming with people; as they say, watching an execution is like attending a grand drama. In this era lacking entertainment information, the live execution was enough to attract the bored masses of this time.

Especially since today’s execution was of the famous Zoroastrian Sect’s Little Ming King, the man renowned across the land, which attracted even more people.
