Reverend Insanity: Dream Gu

Flame Sovereign Blessed Land.

Lin Yan’s will immediately entered the immortal aperture, and the full appearance of the newly formed blessed land emerged within his mind.

Flame Sovereign Blessed Land covered a vast nine thousand square kilometers, reaching the threshold of a Super Grade Blessed Land. The sky stretched endlessly overhead, while the land below extended far into the distance. A large tributary of the River of Time descended from above and flowed through the blessed land, greatly increasing its time flow compared to the outside world.

The world itself was painted in fiery red and brilliant white, like a blazing sun frozen at its zenith. Endless light and heat filled every corner of the land.

This was because Rank 6 and Rank 7 blessed lands did not possess a complete day-night cycle. Instead, their environment reflected the characteristics of their main path, remaining in a single state of perpetual day or perpetual night. Since Lin Yan had ascended through Flame Path, abundant light and heat permeated the entire blessed land, leaving the sky forever bathed in daylight.

At the center of the blessed land stood the core of this small world.

There, a massive crimson abyss stretched across the land, remarkably similar to the Blazing Yellow Heaven Pit. Countless fire clouds swirled above it, intertwined with arcs of lightning, creating a magnificent spectacle.

At the very center of the clouds, clusters of jade-like light continuously gathered together. Fifty-four beads of green grape immortal essence floated quietly in the air, shining like emerald stars.

A trace of joy flashed across Lin Yan’s eyes. Fifty-four beads of green grape immortal essence was an astonishing amount for a newly ascended Rank 6 Gu Immortal. When Sun Cu first advanced, he had possessed barely half as much. Combined with the blessed land’s forty-to-one time flow ratio, Flame Sovereign Blessed Land would produce another fifty-four beads of green grape immortal essence every year.

Such a foundation was far beyond what most newly ascended Rank 6 Gu Immortals could hope to possess.

Besides that, large amounts of Heaven and Earth Qi still lingered at the edge of Flame Sovereign Blessed Land. They appeared as greenish-gold mist, drifting through the air and gathering without dispersing. The quantity was enough to refine four Immortal Gu.

A trace of understanding flashed through Lin Yan’s mind.

Even a Large Blessed Land could usually support the refinement of two Immortal Gu during Immortal Ascension. Back then, Tai Bai Yun Sheng had refined two Immortal Gu in a single ascension. With the foundation of the Blazing Glory Lightning Brilliance Physique and his exceptionally strong Human Qi, possessing enough remaining Heaven and Earth Qi to refine four Immortal Gu was only natural.

In an instant, Lin Yan gained a basic understanding of the blessed land’s condition.

However, he had no time to inspect it further. The moment his Immortal Ascension succeeded, his attention had already returned to the outside world.

At this time, three layers of the Four Flame Cloud Cover Tribulation had already been destroyed. Only the final layer remained overhead, while the Melting Ground below had weakened considerably. The dark-red vortex had shrunk again and again, its power steadily fading as it neared collapse.

Sun Cu’s condition was far from good. His face was pale, and a trail of blood hung at the corner of his mouth. To withstand the Heavenly Tribulation and Earthly Calamity, he had pushed himself to his limits, repeatedly activating both the Gu formation and his Immortal Gu.

The price was equally severe. The Gu formation had been completely ruined by the tribulation. Hundreds of mortal Gu had perished, and the collapse of the formation triggered a fierce backlash that left him injured on the spot. Even for a Rank 6 Gu Immortal, such losses were enough to cause heartache.

Lin Yan, however, had no time to concern himself with Sun Cu’s losses. He continuously activated the Six-Armed Divine Fire Yama killer move, completely annihilating the remaining Heavenly Tribulation and Earthly Calamity. The dark-red clouds gradually dispersed, revealing a sky washed clean by fire. Across ten thousand li, the land had become a scorched wasteland. Cracks spread in every direction, rivers of magma cut through the earth, and the air carried the lingering smell of burning.

The Immortal Ascension tribulation was finally over. From this day onward, Lin Yan was a Rank 6 Gu Immortal.

Standing amidst the ruined battlefield, he silently looked across the devastated land.

From a newly awakened Gu Master to a Gu Immortal, he had crossed a path that countless cultivators could only dream of. Seven and a half years ago, he had been nothing more than an ordinary person from Earth. Now, he stood at the Immortal level.

For a moment, countless emotions stirred within his heart. Looking toward the distant horizon, he slowly recited:

A mortal heart once gazed upon the heavens, Determined to seek the path of immortality.

Heroes rose and fell upon Ember Passage Ridge, While Immortal Gu emerged from the Blazing Yellow Heaven Pit.

Today I break the tribulation and soar into the nine heavens, Laughing as I gaze upon the endless road ahead.

After finishing the poem, Lin Yan suddenly felt a trace of second-hand embarrassment. At the time, his emotions had surged, and the words had come naturally. Now that he thought about it again, reciting poetry in front of another person felt somewhat awkward.

To distract himself, he immediately turned his gaze toward Sun Cu.

In the distance, Sun Cu was still recovering from his injuries. After hearing the poem, the corner of his mouth twitched slightly.

Then Sun Cu remembered that the person standing before him was no longer a mortal Gu Master. Lin Yan had already become a Gu Immortal, standing on the same level as himself.

More importantly, he had completed the Immortal Ascension of a Ten Extreme Physique.

Sun Cu fell silent. He had seen many talented people in his life, but none like this. Refining an Immortal Gu as a mortal, ascending before the age of twenty, and possessing one of the Ten Extreme Physiques—the moment Lin Yan stepped into Rank 6, he had already left ordinary Gu Immortals far behind.

Thinking of this, the dissatisfaction in Sun Cu’s heart diminished considerably.

Originally, he had wanted to demand an explanation for everything Lin Yan had concealed from him. In the end, however, he suppressed those thoughts.

When the two finally met, Sun Cu concealed the complicated emotions in his heart, cupped his hands, and offered his congratulations.

”Congratulations, Immortal Friend Lin, on successfully ascending to immortality. From today onward, you can watch the world’s changing tides from above and no longer be bound by the affairs of mortals.”
