Reverend Insanity: Dream Gu

Lin Yan’s spirit jolted. Fear and excitement surged together in his heart. ”The heavenly tribulation and earthly calamity are about to begin!”

Gu Immortals undergoing Immortal Ascension had to pass the Immortal Ascension Tribulation. In truth, it was not limited to ascension alone. After obtaining a blessed land, calamities and tribulations would accompany them for the rest of their lives.

This was because the blessings obtained by Gu Immortals were simply too great, already breaking the balance between mortals and immortals. Naturally, Heaven’s Will would intervene to restore that balance.

As the two watched closely, the heavenly qi in the sky rapidly condensed into a yellowish-brown tribulation cloud. Massive meteorites floated within the clouds, each radiating terrifying destructive power.

Meanwhile, the turbid earth qi below also began to churn violently. Endless yellow-brown mud gathered together, slowly forming a colossal beast that seemed capable of holding up the heavens themselves. Its body was covered in a gigantic shell with a metallic luster, while mountain-like layers of thick mud piled across its back.

A pair of enormous ferocious pincers slowly opened, and beneath its body extended eighteen massive clawed legs, each emitting an overwhelming aura.

Seeing this scene, Lin Yan’s pupils sharply contracted. ”Heavenly Tribulation — Meteorite Rain. Earth Calamity — Mud Crab.”

”It’s actually a desolate beast calamity!”

However, Lin Yan still let out a sigh of relief. This was generally considered an ordinary-level heavenly tribulation and earthly calamity. Moreover, both were closely related to Earth Path, making them far more favorable for Sun Cu to handle.

At the very least, Heaven’s Will was not deliberately trying to kill him. The only uncertainty was whether that desolate beast carried a wild Immortal Gu within its body, though the possibility was probably low.

Rumble!

In the next moment, the desolate beast on the ground charged forward with overwhelming momentum, while the meteorites in the sky fell like a violent storm, smashing toward Sun Cu with terrifying force.

Sun Cu could only descend rapidly while simultaneously balancing the three qi, stabilizing his immortal aperture, and activating the killer moves Mountain Rest and Rabble.

Under the amplification of dao marks after becoming a Gu Immortal, the power of the two killer moves underwent a qualitative transformation.

Three hundred metres hills forcefully rose from the desert one after another, while giant rabble creatures several meters tall condensed and formed continuously.

The battle instantly erupted.

Boom!

Sun Cu instantly retreated into the massive fortress, resisting the terrifying meteorites crashing down from the sky while simultaneously controlling countless rabble to form a vast army that charged fearlessly toward the desolate beast Mud Crab.

Across the battlefield, dense meteorites rained down without end, blasting enormous craters into the desert one after another. Countless shattered rocks exploded outward as the entire area rapidly descended into ruin.

The hundred metres hills created by Mountain Rest killer move were unable to withstand the relentless bombardment and gradually collapsed apart.

At the same time, tens of thousands of rabble were mercilessly crushed beneath Mud Crab’s enormous body and terrifying pincers.

Under such overwhelming pressure, even Sun Cu gradually began reaching his limit. He could no longer divide his attention to continuously activate killer moves.

Finally, he shouted loudly, ”Lin Yan!”

Lin Yan’s body was covered in red dragon-scale armor. Fine gilded dragon scales spread across his figure, while a flood dragon phantom coiled around him. Behind his back, a pair of dazzling phoenix wings stretched across the sky as his figure moved swiftly through the meteorite storm, nimbly avoiding the attacks of the heavenly tribulation.

Hearing Sun Cu’s shout, Lin Yan burst into laughter and decisively activated the fully completed Six-Armed Divine Fire Yama killer move.

In the next instant, endless flames erupted from his body. His figure rapidly expanded to eighteen feet tall, transforming into a towering crimson flame giant that seemed capable of holding up the heavens themselves. Ghostly fire dragons circled around him while layer upon layer of divine rings rose behind his back.

Red, green, gold, blue...A total of nine divine rings blazed brilliantly behind him, illuminating the entire darkened battlefield.

The power of eight different Otherworldly Flames gathered within Lin Yan’s body, while four enormous red fire handprints floated beside him, radiating terrifying pressure.

Under normal circumstances, regardless of whether a desolate beast carried a wild Immortal Gu or not, an ordinary Rank 5 Gu Master would not even possess the qualifications to fight it. The moment they approached, they would likely die instantly.

This was because a desolate beast was not merely strengthened by one or two Rank 5 Gu. Its body naturally carried a massive swarm of Gu worms ranging from Rank 1 to Rank 5.

However, with Sun Cu supporting him from the rear, the situation became entirely different. Especially after Lin Yan completed Six-Armed Divine Fire Yama. The killer move used more than thirty Rank 4 Gu worms and Rank 5 Gu as its foundation, every single one carefully chosen and perfectly coordinated.

Its combat power had already far surpassed the limits of an ordinary Rank 5 peak Gu Master.

Lin Yan’s battle intent surged. His crimson flame giant body charged directly toward the Mud Crab, forcefully enduring the meteorites raining from the sky. At the same time, the four enormous red fire handprints beside him smashed downward with overwhelming force.

Boom!

An earth-shaking explosion erupted. Lin Yan was instantly blasted back over a hundred meters, crashing through one sand dune after another. The surrounding hills collapsed apart as countless shattered rocks shot into the sky, kicking up massive clouds of dust.

Yet the Mud Crab merely staggered for a moment before stabilizing itself again. Aside from a scorched patch on its head, it suffered almost no damage.

In the next moment, Lin Yan burst out from the rubble once again. The nine rings behind him were already close to collapsing from that single collision. Blood flowed from the corner of his mouth, but his eyes instead burned even brighter with excitement.

He wiped away the blood and immediately activated another killer move—Prairie Fire.
