Reverend Insanity: Dream Gu

At this moment, as he drew insight from heaven and earth, the foundations Lin Yan had accumulated over the years began to erupt one after another. His attainments climbed steadily, breaking through one barrier after another like bamboo splitting under pressure. Each breath of comprehension was worth years of bitter cultivation.

Even Lin Yan himself could feel it clearly. This Immortal Ascension was not merely transforming his body—it was reshaping everything he understood about the Dao.

As countless insights surged through his mind, his understanding of Flame Path rose at a terrifying speed. Among Rank 7 Gu Immortals, Grandmaster attainment in their main path was almost a necessity.

At that level, one could infer countless truths from a single point. Every method carried endless variations and profound applications.

Even Rank 8 Gu Immortals would find it difficult to break methods created by a Grandmaster unless they cultivated the same path.

The further one advanced, the greater the difference became between those who specialized and those who did not.

The Gu world contained countless paths blooming side by side, yet even the Ten Venerables had paths they were not skilled in and often needed help from others.

Because of this, Lin Yan had never scattered his focus across too many directions. He chose to walk Flame Path above all else, and that choice had proven correct.

Whether it was his upcoming Immortal Ascension, the Blazing Glory Lightning Brilliance Physique, or the Flame Path Immortal Gu he would refine in the future, everything was deeply tied to Flame Path. The higher his Flame Path attainment rose, the greater the benefits would be in every aspect.

His Flame Path attainment had only just stepped into quasi-Grandmaster. Logically speaking, there should still have been an enormous distance between quasi-Grandmaster and Grandmaster. That gap was even greater than the distance from nothing to quasi-Grandmaster.

For ordinary Gu Immortals, crossing it often required decades—sometimes even a century—of accumulation. But as Lin Yan learned from heaven and earth, endless inspiration surged through his mind. Thought after thought emerged like sparks. The moment one appeared, another followed. Problems that would normally take years to comprehend unraveled before him with startling clarity, each insight branching into countless new possibilities.

In such a short span of time, Lin Yan’s Flame Path attainment stepped into Grandmaster.

The moment he crossed that threshold, countless insights ignited in his mind like firelight. One thought emerged, was instantly understood, and split into countless new directions.

But Lin Yan quickly calmed himself and suppressed the urge to continue comprehending. His time was limited. Right now, raising his attainment further was not the priority—deducing Immortal Gu recipes was.

After ascending with a super-grade blessed land, there would still be remaining Heaven and Earth Qi left for refining Immortal Gu, usually enough for one or two. But with one of the Ten Extreme Physiques, three was almost guaranteed. With sufficient foundation, even refining four was possible.

Because of this, Lin Yan needed to prepare at least four Rank 6 Flame Path Immortal Gu recipes in advance. Only then could he fully make use of the foundation he had accumulated over the years.

His first target was naturally his vital Gu, Control Flame Gu. It was the core of his combat system and the Gu he understood most deeply. Countless years of use, refinement, and comprehension had already become part of its foundation.

With his Grandmaster Flame Path attainment supporting him, Lin Yan nearly completed the Rank 6 Fire Control Immortal Gu recipe in a single breath.

Next came Transform Fire Immortal Gu. Lin Yan had long researched it, with Sun Cu’s Transformation Stone Immortal Gu serving as his reference. Now, many unresolved parts instantly became clear.

Its effect was similar in principle, yet even more suited to Flame Path. In battles between Flame Path Gu Immortals, it would be an extremely domineering method—enough to be called king among close-combat techniques.

After that, Lin Yan’s attention turned to Fire Escape Gu. Compared to attack or defense, movement was even more important. In the Gu world, staying alive was always the first priority. Everything else came after that.

Lin Yan continued deducing the Fire Escape Immortal Gu recipe. Compared to the previous two, this one was far more difficult.

He had too few references to draw from, and Flame Path movement-type Gu were rare to begin with. One thought after another surfaced in his mind, only to be overturned moments later. After several breaths of deduction, the Rank 6 Fire Escape Immortal Gu recipe was finally completed.

As the recipe took shape, another thought surfaced in Lin Yan’s mind. This Immortal Gu would be extremely useful in the future. He planned to cross the regional wall, travel to the Southern Border, and explore the inheritance of Fire Thunder Divine Lord.
