Ning An's Wild Wish System

”Damn! It’s actually not a practicing physician certificate; this is a specialty qualification certificate for traditional Chinese medicine!”

”Huh? What do you mean, aren’t they the same thing? What’s the difference?”

”Hey, the difference is huge. Any normal medical postgraduate can pass the physician qualification exam.

But the specialty qualification certificate for traditional Chinese medicine is for experts in a specific domain with specialized skills and experience, and holders can legally engage in diagnosis and treatment in that field.”

”Isn’t this like the difference between a resident doctor and a chief physician?”

”Even more than that! As long as Western doctors master the most advanced equipment, even less skilled doctors can nearly reach the level of good doctors. But traditional Chinese medicine relies solely on time to hone skills. Don’t be fooled by the minor difference in certificates; the knowledge hidden within is vastly different!”

”...”

But soon, a comment was quickly pushed to the top.

”Traditional Chinese medicine? It’s useless, only you guys treat this outdated thing like a treasure.”

Upon seeing this comment, countless viewers in the livestream criticized without stopping.

”It’s like putting down the bowl and cursing your mom! You’re alive today not because you’re great, but because your ancestors survived well. What did they do when they got sick? They just toughed it out.”

”Traditional Chinese medicine just takes longer to show effects. Who told you it’s useless? Which TCM doctor you visit doesn’t say medicines are just supplementary? Such a benevolent approach can also be criticized?”

”Firefighters getting criticized for cooling down with bucket water during heatstroke, doctors being scorned for drinking glucose after hours in surgery, the grandpa selling cheap sugary drinks getting mocked, police dogs drinking bottled water receiving backlash. What’s wrong with the internet? Some people’s hearts aren’t clean!”

”Send this guy to mine in East Africa, or down south with the monkeys, what’s this nonsense he’s spewing!”

”Such people living are wasting air, just hurry and migrate to Sakura and drink nuclear waste water, maybe they’ll mutate.”

”...”

As for those who forget their roots, the viewers criticized without any discrimination.

Their insults extended from his mom as the center to his ancestors within an eighteen-generation radius, even the ashes from an old coffin wouldn’t be spared!

Ning An didn’t look at the livestream but pointed at the Wishing Hall and said with a smile:

”Just right, I have an Incense Burner here. Seems weak but can’t see the illness; could you help take a look?”

Give a peach in return for a plum.

Earlier, Ning An’s reminder led to Wang Ruoruo offering a consultation; it couldn’t be more fitting.

Moreover, Wang Ruoruo is genuinely good; she nodded without hesitation:

”Sure, no problem.”

Li Wanwan just came out of the hall and was immediately called over by Ning An.

”Dear, if you don’t mind, let this doctor check your pulse, how about it?”

The bewildered Li Wanwan looked at the certificate in front and nodded in confusion.

Seeing Li Wanwan’s clarity, Wang Ruoruo couldn’t help but laugh: ”It’s okay, classmate, I’m not treating you, just normal interaction. Don’t be so nervous, relax.”

And viewers in the livestream also noticed Li Wanwan’s nervousness and laughed along.

”Honestly, if I just finished making a wish, and a doctor came up to check me, I’d be nervous too.”

”Yeah, although you should treat an illness, it’s normal to get anxious when it suddenly involves you.”

”Besides, this isn’t Western medicine where you wait for equipment results; TCM gives you a general health overview just from pulse diagnosis.”

”Too scary. Honestly, if I were seeing a TCM doctor, I’d abstain for a month beforehand, afraid they’d notice something.”

”Hey, I have a friend who’s afraid the doctor would discover his impotence because he doesn’t last long. He abstained for two months, but going to the hospital, before the TCM doctor, he felt almost naked.”

”Hey, brother, that last line sounds like me. Is this friend you by any chance?”

”Nonsense! You’re slandering me! I’ll sue you for defamation!”

”I can cure it.”

”Divine doctor, you must save me!”

”...”

Pulse diagnosis, or ’taking pulse,’ often called ’pulse checking,’ originates from ancient times.

Pulse shape is the image felt by the fingers on the pulse, produced by heart fluctuations, the rise and fall of heart energy, the smoothness of pulse channels, and the fullness or deficit of blood and energy.

Through the pulse image, one can learn comprehensive information about the entire body’s organs, blood, energy, and yin-yang.

When organs and blood undergo changes, it inevitably shows in the pulse, presenting pathological pulse shapes, which is a unique basis for TCM diagnosis.

At this moment, as Li Wanwan sat on the chair, saying she wasn’t uneasy would be a lie.

Who wants to see a doctor!

Wang Ruoruo’s attempt to calm her only made her feel even less at ease.

Within a short half minute, Li Wanwan was already sweating lightly.

Even her forehead was beaded with sweat.

The livestream viewers widened their eyes upon seeing this.

”Huh? Isn’t this a bit too anxious?”

”It definitely is. It’s winter, not summer, sweating on the forehead like me.”

”Understandable, no one wants to find out they’re ill. Even if you’re healthy, you want to keep away from doctors, the farther the better.”

”...”

After half a minute more, seeing Li Wanwan nearly turning into a cooked shrimp, Wang Ruoruo withdrew her hand.

”Classmate, I think I know why you’re feeling weak.”

Upon hearing this, everyone’s eyes lit up.

Wang Ruoruo first asked a question: ”Recently, have you experienced low blood sugar, a sudden dizziness?”

”Whoa!”

Shi Ying exclaimed in shock, then realized the inappropriateness of swearing, her face flushed as she covered her mouth.

”She just fainted at the entrance,” Ning An said.

Li Wanwan was a bit anxious: ”Doctor, can my feebleness be treated?”

Wang Ruoruo didn’t immediately answer but explained:

”When I observed your pulse, it’s a Deep Vein pulse.”

”Deep Vein?”

Li Wanwan was dumbfounded.

The term was too technical; she had never heard it!

Quickly, Wang Ruoruo provided an explanation:

”Simply put, it’s a lack of energy and blood causing weak pulse image, indicating low brain blood supply.”

”The insufficient blood supply to the brain is why you fainted.”

Livestream viewers were curious.

”Makes some sense, but how could such a young person have deficient energy and blood?”

”Well, there are many reasons. Could be born too early, not absorbing sufficient nutrients in the womb, considered a preemie. Leads to innate weaker constitution.”

”That’s true, I’m a preemie, my intelligence isn’t much affected, but my body’s far from satisfactory.”

”...”

Li Wanwan swallowed hard nervously: ”Doctor, can my pulse image and weakness be salvaged?”

Wang Ruoruo answered frankly: ”That’s something you need to ask yourself.”

Oh wow!

Ning An couldn’t help but glance, the path to salvation lies within!

Shi Ying immediately interrupted, finding it inappropriate:

”Doctor, not doubting you, but couldn’t there be a mistake?”

”We’re roommates, her routine is regular, sleeps at eleven, wakes early.”

”To change her constitution, she exercises more, from gym lifting to hiking here at Changchun Temple. She’s doing what needs to be done.”

Wang Ruoruo nodded: ”That’s indeed apparent, as there’s a significant difference between those who exercise and those who don’t.”

Then, Wang Ruoruo changed her tone, smiling:

”But, classmate, you mentioned she goes to bed early. Are you sure it’s to sleep?”
