Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2699: Chapter 2699: The National Treasury Really Is a Bit Empty

Now that they heard Prince Zhan and his wife have returned, the elders one by one ordered the servants to bring their frivolous descendants back home.

And instructed them personally, warning that they are not allowed to leave the mansion for the time being. Even if they do, they must not act recklessly; otherwise, not even the gods can save them.

After all, Prince Zhan and Prince An Yang are the ancestors, people who can even deal with the Retired Emperor.

They had received the news long ago that the Retired Emperor was imprisoned. If the Emperor didn’t have the support of these two, how could he have been so bold as to imprison the Retired Emperor?

Besides, when the ministers heard about the Retired Emperor’s imprisonment, no one said anything, and everyone took it for granted.

For a time, the capital’s streets were surprisingly quiet and peaceful, making those who hadn’t received the news unable to believe it, thinking perhaps some major event had occurred in the capital, or maybe another country had attacked.

Once Qian Jiyun and An Jiuyue returned to the mansion, they heard the butler report on all the gossip from the capital.

”These people really have well-informed channels.”

An Jiuyue chuckled lightly as she sipped her tea and nibbled on snacks, listening to the butler.

They had just arrived in the capital, and those people immediately knew and brought back their trouble-making descendants.

”Why are they treating us like monstrous floods and beasts? It’s really...” She shook her head.

”They probably knew all along, right? Sister-in-law, how could these slick people not know about the situation in the Northern Lands?” An Jiuyue snorted lightly.

”Indeed.”

The drought in the Northern Lands is serious business; whenever hasn’t it been the Emperor and ministers’ biggest headache?

”Since they care so much about the drought in the Northern Lands, let everyone contribute a little. Jiyun, what do you think?” She turned to Qian Jiyun, asking.

”The national treasury is indeed somewhat empty.” Qian Jiyun responded quietly.

”Then...”

An Jiuyue raised an eyebrow, looking at the butler.

”Butler, have the lotus flowers at the Moonlight Lotus embankment bloomed?” She asked.

”Replying to the Princess Consort, the lotus flowers at the Moonlight Lotus embankment always bloom early, and around this time, they are in full bloom.” The butler immediately understood what needed to be arranged.

”Shall I immediately send invitations to the major clans, inviting them to a gathering at Moonlight Tavern, and take them for a boat tour?” He asked.

”Yes, that’s fine.”

An Jiuyue nodded, and in the process, fulfilling the wishes of her little children, allowing them some fun on the lake.

”Rent more lotus boats for that time, let’s schedule it for three days later.” She instructed.

”Yes, Master, I will arrange it right away.” The butler responded, then left to prepare.

”Brother, sister-in-law, are you inviting those people on a lake tour?” An Jiuyue twitched her lips. Those people are all astute; will they part with money?

But then again, they have encountered her brother and sister-in-law, so they must pay up!

”The main thing is, it’s been years since we’ve toured the lake, and I want to take a look.” An Jiuyue replied softly, turning to the children who were looking at her with shining eyes.

”I’ll rent some small boats for you then, to pick lotus flowers and leaves.”

”Yay!”

Qian Yinuo clapped his hands joyfully.

”Mother, can we bring nets? We want to eat fish.”

Upon hearing this, An Jiuyue’s face darkened slightly, almost reaching out to tug the little one’s ear.
