Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2668: Chapter 2668: There Are Simply Too Many People to Resettle

Gong Jian looked at the secret guards leaving, said nothing, and opened the box, then sat on the ground and started to read the evidence one book at a time.

Earlier, the secret guards knew he wanted to look at these things, so they thoughtfully brought another empty box of the same size, allowing him to place the petitions he had read into the empty box.

”Phew!”

After half an hour, Gong Jian, who could skim three lines at once, closed his eyes after placing a petition into the box.

He truly couldn’t stand reading it anymore; Dowager Consort Yu and her son deserve to die, even if they died ten thousand times, it wouldn’t suffice to quell public outrage, the protests of the people at the government entrance before were considered mild.

If it were up to him, seeing such criminals, it might be possible for him to rush over and bite them a few times.

”Ridiculous, truly ridiculous!”

Back in the day, when the Retired Emperor was young and ruling, he was quite commendable, who would have thought in his old age, he raised such sons.

And it’s not just the Fifteenth Prince; before this, he handled several cases, all involving the Retired Emperor’s sons, the Emperor’s brothers. After dealing with them, some officials secretly believed it was because the Emperor couldn’t tolerate the Retired Emperor’s sons, his brothers.

Little do they know, those brothers of the Emperor who were executed deserved it. They either wanted to rebel or were outrageous in their fiefdoms.

However, compared to Dowager Consort Yu and the Fifteenth Prince, the cases he handled before were mild.

After all, other princes and dukes were using the mindset of gradual exploitation, squeezing the local people bit by bit, unlike Dowager Consort Yu and the Fifteenth Prince, who didn’t leave themselves any way out.

Just as he was sneering, preparing to pick up another petition to read, a secret guard came in with dishes from outside.

”Lord Gong, please have your meal first.”

The secret guard placed the dishes on the table; they weren’t anything special, a meat dish, a vegetable dish, and a soup. This was still what his master’s wife brought out, otherwise, there would be none of this.

”Oh, alright.”

Gong Jian responded and took out several petitions from the box, ready to read while eating.

”Where are Dowager Consort Yu and her son detained?”

”In the prison.”

said the secret guard. Normally, if a prince committed a crime, they would only be under house arrest in their mansion, and served with good food and drink.

But here, with their master and master’s wife, there is no such good treatment; they were directly imprisoned, and if they wanted good food and drink, that would only be in their dreams.

What that mother and son did over the years, giving them one bun per meal is already generous. What else could they expect?

”Lord Gong, actually the crimes of Dowager Consort Yu and her son are easy to determine; it’s just the people in the Prince’s Mansion that are difficult to settle, and those families of the untimely deceased need to be appeased, and there’s also compensation.”

This is the real headache; if it were just one or two people, it would be fine, and they could be settled quickly.

But the number of people to be settled is truly too many.

”Additionally, you must have heard? Dowager Consort Yu bore two other children. The master and master’s wife mean that they have done no wrong and must also be settled properly.”

Upon hearing this, Gong Jian raised his hand and rubbed his brow.

He had settled the families of many soldiers sacrificed on the border, providing pensions, which had laws to follow, simple.

But the people here died untimely, they were killed, and the perpetrators were a consort and prince of the Daqing Kingdom, this matter is not insignificant.
