Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 1021: Chapter 1063: You Don’t Like Me Anymore Since You Got a Stepmom!

Listening to Huo Junmo’s words, Huo Jiantian blinked, somewhat understanding, ”But once you have a stepmother, you won’t like me anymore!”

Huo Junmo patted his little head, stretched out his long fingers to wipe away the tears from his face, and said warmly, ”Daddy doesn’t dislike you! It’s just that, now that you are five years old, it’s time for you to have your own thoughts and your own way of handling things! Daddy wants to let you grow independently! Daddy also wants you to have more opportunities to be with your stepmom, to gradually discover her goodness, and genuinely accept her! Daddy knows that you haven’t fully accepted her yet, but Daddy hopes that one day, you will drop the first three words from how you call her and just call her ’Mom’!”

”...!” Huo Jiantian bit his lip tightly, his eyes darting around, but stubbornly refusing to relent!

Seeing him like this, Huo Junmo laughed and comforted him, ”It’s okay if you can’t say it now, Daddy won’t force you or pressure you! However, Daddy sincerely hopes that one day you will become a sensible and understanding child! As a man, you can’t achieve your goals just by crying and making a fuss! You need to find ways yourself! Before you were five, you were still a little child, and you could cry when you were upset, letting Daddy hold you! But after five, you need to slowly grow up, and when something happens, don’t just cry or rely on others, but think about how to solve the problem yourself! Someday when you grow up, Daddy will be old, and Huo Tian Group will need you to take over! If you don’t have even the most basic way of handling things, how can Daddy trust you with Huo Tian Group?”

Huo Jiantian pouted, looking at Huo Junmo, ”Daddy... did I do something wrong today?”

Huo Junmo generously nodded in acknowledgment, ”Yes! You did do something wrong today! As a man, how can you solve problems by going on a hunger strike! The reason Daddy didn’t intervene earlier was to let you think about whether or not you should have used such a method to protest? Indeed, to achieve one’s goals, various ways can be employed; some people even resort to not very honorable means! But definitely not crying or a hunger strike! Crying and hunger strikes only make those around you feel sorry for you, while others feel nothing! They will just think you’re silly and secretly laugh at you behind your back! Do you want to be a child that others laugh at?”

Without thinking, Huo Jiantian replied, ”I don’t want to!”

Huo Junmo nodded in satisfaction and continued, ”Since you don’t want to be a useless person others laugh at, you should pull yourself together and do what a man should do. Crying, fussing, and threatening are things little kids do; you’re not a little kid anymore, you’re already five years old. Do you think it’s right for you to do those things?”

Listening to Huo Junmo’s words, Huo Jiantian tilted his head, thought seriously for a moment, then firmly nodded, ”It’s not suitable!”

Indeed! At the kindergarten, he often thought the other kids were immature, felt that talking more to them would lower his IQ! Though he was quite aloof at school, he became like this whenever he came home and saw his dad and the wicked stepmom!

Since he looked down on them so much, why would he act as childish as them!

He should be like an adult—mature, understanding, obedient!

Huo Junmo rubbed Huo Jiantian’s little head, confidently saying, ”Very good! Daddy hopes you remember what I said today! Daddy believes in you, you will not let Daddy down!”

Huo Jiantian nodded, solemnly promising, ”Daddy, rest assured, I will not let you down!”

”Okay!” Huo Junmo nodded in satisfaction and asked, ”Are you still angry?”

Huo Jiantian smiled and replied, ”Not angry anymore?”

Huo Junmo smiled and said, ”Since you’re not angry anymore, let’s go down for dinner! We’ve saved corn shrimp and spiced chicken wings for you!”

”Okay!” Huo Jiantian nodded obediently.

Huo Junmo smiled, stood up, ready to lead Huo Jiantian out, when Huo Jiantian tugged at his hand.

Huo Junmo turned around puzzled, ”Is there anything else?”

Huo Jiantian blinked his big watery eyes, and asked expectantly, ”Daddy, now that I’m obedient and not angry, will you take me out with you on your honeymoon?”

Huo Junmo froze, his mouth twitching involuntarily!

Ling Yueyue, eavesdropping outside the door, nearly burst into laughter hearing Huo Jiantian’s words!

This little rascal, it seems Huo Junmo talked so much for nothing! Just moments ago, he talked about understanding and obedience, not letting Huo Junmo down! Now he’s back asking to join them on the honeymoon!

Looks like everything Huo Junmo said was in vain; Huo Jiantian might have heard it, but didn’t grasp the essence!

Even though she’s not inside, she can almost imagine Huo Junmo’s expression now!

Definitely feeling speechless!

Ha-ha...! With such a silly son, his expression surely isn’t pleasant!

As Ling Yueyue laughed heartily, the room door suddenly swung open from inside!

Huo Junmo stood at the doorway, not looking pleased at Ling Yueyue!

While Huo Jiantian looked up, pouting at the teary-eyed, laughing Ling Yueyue, displeased, ”You actually eavesdropped on our conversation! Didn’t your teacher teach you not to eavesdrop?”

Ling Yueyue justified herself, ”My teacher did teach me not to eavesdrop! But you’re my son, and he’s my husband, how is listening to you two eavesdropping! I’m openly listening!”

”You...!” Huo Jiantian, angry and ready to retort, suddenly remembered what Huo Junmo had said earlier, and stopped abruptly!

”Go have dinner!” Huo Junmo glanced at Ling Yueyue and Huo Jiantian, coldly tossing a sentence before heading downstairs without looking back.

”Ha-ha, I want corn shrimp, I want spiced chicken wings!” Ling Yueyue yelled, following Huo Junmo downstairs in a flash while Huo Jiantian had yet to react.

”Wicked stepmom, you stop, that corn shrimp is mine, spiced chicken wings are mine too, you better not compete with me!” Hearing the wicked stepmom was about to snatch his food, Huo Jiantian suddenly regained his senses and hurriedly chased after Ling Yueyue!

When the three of them went downstairs again, the food on the table was almost cold!

Huo Junmo instructed the kitchen to reheat all the dishes before starting the meal again!

Already famished, Huo Jiantian, for the first time forsaking his image, grabbed a chicken wing with his hand and started eating! While gnawing, he didn’t forget to say it was delicious!
