Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 1020: Chapter 1062: Really Angry?

Unfortunately, imagination is beautiful, but reality is cruel!

Huo Jiantian had been sitting on the sofa for so long, while Huo Junmo ate leisurely without even glancing at him, let alone caring about him or compromising to agree to go on a trip together!

Huo Jiantian sat on the sofa, almost able to smell the aroma of food wafting from the dining room! His stomach growled even louder!

Huo Jiantian licked his lips, swallowed, and his little hands kept touching his stomach! He clearly wanted to eat but couldn’t bring himself to do it!

Although Ling Yueyue had her back turned to Huo Jiantian, it was as if she could see his expression. Not only did she gobble up her food, but she said deliberately, ”Oh... this corn and shrimp is so good! The shrimp is so smooth and sweet, leaving a lingering taste in your mouth!”

”...!” Listening to Ling Yueyue’s words, Huo Jiantian couldn’t help but swallow again.

As if hearing Huo Jiantian’s swallowing sounds, Ling Yueyue smiled and picked up a chicken wing, took a big bite, and, with her eyes closed in enjoyment, said, ”And these five-spice chicken wings, they’re crispy and tender, really so delicious! Our family’s chef is getting better and better; the food is more and more delicious!”

”...!” Huo Jiantian touched his stomach and couldn’t help but crane his neck to look towards the dining room!

Sure enough, Ling Yueyue was leisurely eating a chicken wing! Although he couldn’t see her expression, he could almost imagine that she was definitely enjoying herself!

These two dishes are his favorites! It was he who specifically instructed the butler to have the kitchen make them when he went to school this morning!

Originally, they should have belonged to him! But now, they were all going into the mouth of his wicked stepmother!

Boohoo... he feels so pitiful, a child without a mother is just pitiful! Before the wicked stepmother, at least he had his father’s care! Ever since marrying the wicked stepmother, his father doesn’t care about him anymore! Always siding with the wicked stepmother!

If it was before, even skipping a meal would make Dad very nervous, asking if he was unwell or why he ate so little!

But today, they sat there eating heartily while he sat on the sofa all alone watching them eat! Dad was not only not nervous but didn’t even say a word of concern!

Boohoo... he feels so wronged, so pitiful!

He has truly become a pitiful child no longer loved by his father or mother!

Thinking about this, his eyes heated up, and tears streamed down!

Not wanting to sit there watching them eat, Huo Jiantian stood up and ran upstairs crying!

As soon as Huo Jiantian left, Ling Yueyue and Huo Junmo both froze in their actions, exchanged a glance, and looked towards the stairwell.

Ling Yueyue blinked incredulously and asked, ”Did Tiantian really get angry?”

”...!” Huo Junmo frowned without speaking!

Ling Yueyue quickly put down the chicken wing and apologized, ”I was just teasing him! I didn’t know he would really get angry, I’m sorry!”

”It’s okay! You continue eating, I’ll go check on him!” With that, Huo Junmo put down his bowl and chopsticks and walked towards the stairs!

With Huo Jiantian and Huo Junmo leaving one after the other, Ling Yueyue lost her appetite, sulkily put down her bowl and chopsticks, and looked at the full table of dishes without any interest!

Just now... was she too harsh on Tiantian?

She had only been joking with him; no matter how they played before, Tiantian would never get angry!

She thought this time would be the same!

But Tiantian got angry!

Thinking of Tiantian’s sad little face, Ling Yueyue felt a pang of guilt and couldn’t help but stand up, go to the bathroom to wash her hands, and then go upstairs.

Upstairs, when Huo Junmo entered Huo Jiantian’s room, Huo Jiantian was lying on his small bed sobbing!

Huo Junmo sighed internally, walked over to sit by the bed, gently touching his little head, and said soothingly, ”Tiantian, are you angry?”

”I hate Dad, I hate the wicked stepmother! Ever since Dad married the wicked stepmother, he stopped liking me! Boohoo... I hate you both!” Huo Jiantian sobbed even harder, without lifting his head!

Thinking about the love that should have been his being snatched away by the wicked stepmother, Huo Jiantian felt even more devastated!

For a child who has never had a mother since birth, his father means everything to him!

He’s always looked to his father as his life’s center, as a role model! He believed that they, father and son, should be the closest people in the world!

But this pattern was forcibly broken! All because of that wicked stepmother named Ling Yueyue!

The more he thought about it, the harder Huo Jiantian cried!

With a solemn face, Huo Junmo said in earnest, ”Tiantian, how the stepmother treats you, don’t you know yourself? You’re already five years old, and since you never had a dad, he especially cares for you, spoils you, and indulges you! That’s why you’ve become so unruly and mischievous! But Dad has never blamed you! Dad knows it’s your nature as a child, as long as your heart is good and you have no ill intentions, it’s not a problem! Dad always thought that even though you’re mischievous, you understand what’s right and wrong deep down inside! You can feel who is good to you and who isn’t! But... Dad is really disappointed, truly disappointed! It seems Dad has always misunderstood you!”

After hearing Huo Junmo’s words, Huo Jiantian stopped crying, looked up at him, sniffed, and asked through his tears, ”Dad, do you really not like me anymore? Are you really disappointed in me?”

Huo Junmo seriously asked, ”Tiantian, let me ask you! Putting aside your bias against the stepmother, ask yourself honestly, does she treat you well or not? Has she ever mistreated you?”

”She... she...!” Saying this, Huo Jiantian reluctantly looked down and bit his lip without a word.

He admits, the wicked stepmother treats him very well, really well!

From the start, he called her the wicked stepmother, yet she’s never gotten angry!

On the day Dad and the wicked stepmother got married, the wicked stepmother fought the aunt for him, even tore her wedding dress!

When Dad and the wicked stepmother sleep at night, he deliberately squeezed into their bed wanting to sleep with them. When he cried, the wicked stepmother held him and said she would be his mom and treat him well!

Even though they usually argue and banter, the wicked stepmother always gave way to him, never taking things seriously!

So, he knows the wicked stepmother is good! Yet, he still doesn’t want to admit it inside!

Huo Junmo said earnestly, ”Tiantian, you should know that regardless of what Dad does, it’s all for your good! Dad just wants to make up for the motherly love you’ve missed these past five years!”
