Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 398: Chapter 399: Reunion

For Ye Anxin, the wait was extremely long. Out of anticipation and excitement, she couldn’t sleep the entire night. She rolled around on the hotel double bed, unable to drift into slumber!

The next morning, as soon as the sky brightened, she couldn’t wait to get up, wash up, and dress neatly. She even applied a light makeup, hoping to leave a good impression on her son!

However, once her makeup was done and she sat before the dressing table mirror, looking at her spirited face, her eyes suddenly dimmed!

That’s right! Why did she bother to look so pretty? Her son wouldn’t even see her; she could only hide in a corner and secretly glimpse at him!

For the past five years, this was how she survived! No matter how much she wanted to hug or kiss him, it was all a fantasy, an unreachable dream!

These years, being able to see her son grow up with her own eyes was already a luxury for her!

So, she shouldn’t expect anything more, right? As long as she could quietly watch her son, even if he didn’t recognize her, it wouldn’t matter at all!

Although thinking this way, Ye Anxin had always been comforting herself similarly!

Yet, thinking about her son looking at her with the eyes of a stranger, Ye Anxin only felt a spasm of pain in her heart, tears unknowingly welling up in her eyes!

Ye Anxin looked at herself in the mirror, closed her eyes, took a deep breath, tried hard to adjust her emotions, then shouldered her backpack, left the hotel, and headed straight to the KFC as the butler mentioned!

When Ye Anxin arrived at KFC, it was just eight thirty!

To avoid her son discovering her, she deliberately chose the most inconspicuous spot in the corner to sit!

Ye Anxin ordered a milk, sipping it while waiting!

Time passed second by second, and during the wait, Ye Anxin kept checking the time on her phone, hoping it would go faster!

Finally, at exactly ten o’clock, the butler appeared at the KFC entrance with a little kid!

This was half an hour earlier than the time the butler had told her!

Seeing the little boy standing beside the butler, dressed in a casual tracksuit with a slender build and stunning face, Ye Anxin’s eyes instantly turned red!

Her son had grown up again, only three months apart, and he had shot up so much!

His stature was just like Mu Beiting’s, tall and straight! Although her son was only five years old, he was a whole head taller than kids his age!

His looks completely inherited Mu Beiting’s fine lineage, with thick eyebrows, deep-set eyes, a straight nose, and petite, thin lips, making him, like Mu Beiting, appear exceptionally indifferent!

If there was anything about this son that resembled her, it would probably be that fair skin, just like hers, rosy and soft as though it could ooze water!

Her son walked ahead, the butler behind him, exuding an innate aura of regality. Though young, he emitted a powerful presence mismatch for his age, just standing there was enough to draw everyone’s attention around him!

Once they entered, the butler immediately began searching for Ye Anxin within the KFC!

Before long, he spotted Ye Anxin in the corner with reddened eyes!

The butler smiled contentedly, bent down, pointed toward the direction facing Ye Anxin with the best view, and said to the young master in front of him, ”Young master, there’s a seat there, why don’t we sit there? Let me buy whatever you’d like to eat!”

”Okay!” The little boy nodded and strode towards the spot the butler had pointed to!

Intentionally or not, he happened to sit precisely facing Ye Anxin. As long as Ye Anxin lifted her head, she could see him clearly!

The butler went over, respectfully asked, ”Young master, what would you like to eat?”

”Whatever!” The little boy’s thin lips parted slightly, his manner and expression uncannily similar to Mu Beiting’s.

”Then I’ll handle it! Sit tight! I’ll be right back!” After giving careful instructions, the butler went to order for the little boy!

The little boy sat there, cold and aloof, his gaze unwaveringly looking forward, occasionally glancing at the street through the window!

Ye Anxin just hid in the corner, foolishly watching her son, tears constantly swirling in her eyes!

In fact, she didn’t like her son eating junk food like KFC!

However, only in KFC could she quietly watch her son!

So, she comforted herself, thinking it was okay to eat KFC once every few months! As long as she could see her son, it was worth it!

Before long, the butler brought over a bucket of food for the little boy!

”Young master, I wasn’t sure what you liked, so I bought a family bucket!” With that, the butler placed the bucket in front of the little boy.

The little boy glanced at the bucket, reached out his slender fingers, picked up a fry, and put it into his mouth!

He hadn’t even started chewing when his eyebrows immediately furrowed tightly, expressing extreme distaste!

”What’s wrong? Young master, don’t you like it?” The butler nervously watched the little boy!

Strangely enough, he had always felt that the young master disliked KFC! Yet, every time he brought him here, he never objected, no matter how much he disliked it, he would eat some!

After eating, he’d vigorously rinse his mouth when he got home!

He couldn’t figure out what the young master was thinking! If he didn’t like it, why force himself to eat?

”No!” The little boy responded indifferently, frowning, as he forced himself to swallow the fry!

The little boy’s movements were elegant, leisurely, chewing slowly, resembling Mu Beiting’s dining habits identical to a tee!

Especially his slender hands, so well-formed, extremely pleasing to the eye!

The little boy ate very slowly; it took him a long time to finish a single fry!

And this gave Ye Anxin ample time to watch her son at length!

Time seemed to stand still, doing nothing but lying on the table, staring intently at her son!

After finishing a packet of fries, the little boy wiped his mouth and fingers from the grease, quietly gazing out the window, seemingly not ready to leave.

If he didn’t mention leaving, the butler naturally wouldn’t bring it up either!

The little boy sat there for a long time...

Long enough that Ye Anxin hadn’t had enough, when suddenly he jumped off his chair, slightly annoyed, and said, ”Butler, let’s go home!”

Hearing him wanting to go home, Ye Anxin’s heart tightened, almost jumping herself out of anxiety.

”Going home?” The butler stared at the young master blankly, unsure why he suddenly got angry when he was fine just a moment ago!
