Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 352: Chapter 352: Dilemma

Time quietly slipped away, and summer came in the blink of an eye. School was on summer break, so Ye Anxin stayed home to take care of her pregnancy!

As her belly grew bigger each day, it was impossible to hide, so her friends around her were all aware of Ye Anxin’s pregnancy!

Despite Mu Beiting’s still busy work schedule, he shifted his focus more on the family!

He handled tasks he could take home at home, and those he couldn’t, he took Ye Anxin with him to the office!

Having learned from the previous miscarriage, Ye Anxin was always very careful, and when at the office, she obediently nested on the sofa reading!

That day, while Mu Beiting was in the conference room for a meeting, Ye Anxin was on the sofa reading when the phone beside her suddenly rang!

Ye Anxin picked up the phone and glanced at the caller ID!

It was an unknown number! Ye Anxin thought for a moment and hung up!

She originally thought that if she hung up, the call wouldn’t come again!

Unexpectedly, as soon as she hung up, it immediately rang again!

After repeating this three times, Ye Anxin finally answered the call and placed it to her ear!

Before Ye Anxin could speak, a hoarse voice came from the other end, ”Hello... is this Anxin?”

Ye Anxin froze, feeling that this voice was familiar, and after thinking for a long time, she suddenly realized!

This... isn’t this Uncle Dad’s voice?

Ever since Xie Yunlu’s wedding, Uncle had put all the Mu Family members in jail!

She hadn’t asked about the subsequent events, and Uncle hadn’t mentioned it!

She thought that after she refused the old man’s request, he wouldn’t contact her again!

Unexpectedly, after so long, she received a call from the old man!

Upon realizing that the call was silent, Mu Huajian couldn’t help but call out again, ”Anxin! Are you listening to the call?”

Ye Anxin hurriedly nodded and awkwardly spoke, ”Yes, yes, yes! I’m listening! Old man, is there something you want by calling me? Where... where are you now? Still in jail?”

Mu Huajian replied, ”We were released from prison as early as a month ago! I’m at the Mu Family Mansion now!”

”Oh!” Ye Anxin responded casually, awkwardly unsure of what to say!

Because she really had nothing to say to the Mu Family’s old man!

Mu Huajian hesitated for a while, but still couldn’t help but ask, ”Anxin! I... I heard you are pregnant? Is that true?”

Ye Anxin was silent for a moment before nodding to admit, ”Yes! It’s been several months now!”

Knowing that many people were aware of her pregnancy, Ye Anxin didn’t question how Mu Huajian knew!

Upon getting the answer, Mu Huajian didn’t hide his laughter, ”That’s great, Beiting finally has a successor! My greatest wish in this life is to see Beiting establish a family and career, have his own family, wife, and children before I die! I thought I wouldn’t have the chance to see my grandson before going into the grave, but now... it’s truly wonderful!”

Hearing the laughter from the other end, for some reason, all the hate and resentment Ye Anxin held against him suddenly vanished, and after thinking about it, she couldn’t help but say, ”Less than three months until the birth!”

”Good, good, good!” Mu Huajian nodded repeatedly with a smile. No sooner had he been happy for a while than his face fell again, ”But, Beiting hates me so much, he definitely doesn’t want to see me! Never mind! After the child is born, just send me a picture, that’ll be enough!”

”Uh...!” Ye Anxin hesitated for a while, softening a little as she said: ”Old man, I will try to persuade Uncle. After all, you’re the child’s biological grandfather and have the right to see him!”

Mu Huajian sighed, ”Ah! I understand Beiting’s personality! Once he decides on something, no one can change it! If he doesn’t agree, then forget it, I won’t force it! My greatest wish in this life is to see him have children, and now that my wish has come true, I can die in peace!”

Listening to the sorrowful voice on the other end, Ye Anxin was momentarily at a loss for words!

Mu Huajian pondered for a while, then thick-skinnedly said, ”Anxin... actually... actually, besides asking about the child, there’s something else I wanted to ask you for help with!”

Ye Anxin immediately became vigilant and asked defensively, ”What is it?”

Mu Huajian pleaded, ”In another week, it will be my seventy-eighth birthday! I don’t plan on making a big deal out of it, just want the family to gather for a meal! I... I hope you can talk to Beiting and persuade him to join me for the meal. Ever since he took over the Mu Corporation, it’s been a full ten years since we shared a meal as a family!”

Hearing Mu Huajian’s words, Ye Anxin suddenly felt a trace of sadness!

An old father in his seventies wanting to have a meal with his son, resorting to asking her for help! How tragic is that!

Although she sympathized with him, Ye Anxin still reluctantly said, ”Didn’t you just say no one can change what he decides? I’m... I’m afraid I can’t persuade Uncle!”

Mu Huajian sighed again and said helplessly, ”I know he’s very stubborn! So, I’m not demanding, just hope you can mention it to him! Besides you, I can’t get in touch with him at all! He doesn’t answer my calls, and avoids me when I go to the company! I’m out of options and had to call you! If he agrees, I’ll have the butler prepare more food that day! If he doesn’t come, we’ll just have a simple meal!”

With Mu Huajian saying this, Ye Anxin could only reluctantly agree, ”Uh...! I’ll talk to Uncle and see if I can persuade him! If he doesn’t listen, there’s nothing I can do!”

She was just saying! Why is Uncle’s phone ringing from morning till night these days! Sometimes the calls were so frequent that Uncle just turned off the phone!

It turns out these calls were all from the old man! His purpose was simply to get Uncle to attend his birthday banquet!

Poor parents in the world, it’s truly not easy for any parent!

”Thank you... I’ll be waiting for your good news!” he said, afraid that Ye Anxin would refuse, and immediately hung up the phone!

Listening to the busy tone from the other end of the call, Ye Anxin helplessly shook her head and put the phone back on the sofa!

Disrupted by the call, Ye Anxin had no mind to read anymore, lying on the sofa, carefully thinking about how to talk to Uncle and how to persuade him!

But, thinking about the relationship between Uncle and the Mu Family, she found it a headache! And thinking about Mu Mother and Mu Rufeng, she felt even more headache!

She is really afraid of Mu Mother now! Those harsh words can spill out like singing, crackling non-stop!

Going to the Mu Family Mansion, she’s very afraid Uncle would get hurt again!

But, not going means turning away from someone’s plea, and that seems too unfeeling to ignore!

Thinking about the old man and then Mu Mother, Ye Anxin fell into a dilemma, not knowing what to do!
