Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 185: Chapter 184: Tracking

The person who came wasn’t anyone else, but Nan Mingchuan, the head of the Nan Family, who caused a scene at Ling Yueyue and Huo Junmo’s wedding that day.

Seeing him, Ye Anxin’s heart skipped a beat. She hurriedly moved Ling Yueyue behind her, spreading her arms to block Nan Mingchuan!

After the chaos at the wedding last time, she was wary of the Nan Family, fearing they might do something to harm Yueyue!

With rare gentleness on his authoritative face, Nan Mingchuan smiled slightly and said ingratiatingly, ”Don’t worry, I’m not here for her today. I’m here for you!”

”For me? I don’t know you. What do you want with me?” Ye Anxin frowned!

She instinctively felt hostile towards anyone from the Nan Family.

Nanan Mingchuan, keeping his patience, asked, ”I need to know, what is your mother’s name?”

Hearing him ask about her mother again, Ye Anxin’s frown deepened, her hostility intensified, ”My mother? Why should I tell you? I don’t know you!”

Disregarding the hostility and wariness in Ye Anxin’s eyes, Nan Mingchuan asked urgently, ”Is your mother’s name Fang Chuo?”

Ye Anxin denied it without hesitation, ”No!”

”No? How could it not be! I remember it seemed to be that name back then?” Hearing this, Nan Mingchuan frowned, struggling to search his memory.

But it had been twenty years, and for someone who wasn’t important in his life, his memory was very vague. He remembered little besides a vague name! He couldn’t even recall appearances!

For his uncertain words, Ye Anxin apologetically smiled, ”Sorry, my mother’s name is not Fang Chuo, you’re mistaking me for someone else!”

Nanan Mingchuan shook his head in disbelief, ”How could it be? You look so much like Sisi, how could it be a mistake?”

”Anxin, let’s go! I think there’s something wrong with him!” Ling Yueyue pointed to her own temple, wearing a sympathetic expression.

”Mm!” Ye Anxin nodded, not bothering to pay Nan Mingchuan any more attention, leaving hand in hand with Ling Yueyue.

The man was deep in his thoughts, not noticing at all that Ye Anxin and Ling Yueyue had already left in a taxi.

Sitting in the taxi, Ye Anxin turned around, looking through the back window at Nan Mingchuan, who was getting farther away. When he finally disappeared from sight, she turned back and asked puzzledly, ”Yueyue, what do you think is up with him? Why does he keep saying such bizarre things? He asked the same questions at your wedding last time!”

Ling Yueyue asked, ”Asked what? About your mom’s name?”

Ye Anxin nodded, ”Yeah! Do you think he might actually know my mom?”

Ling Yueyue tilted her head in thought, then suddenly said mysteriously, ”Hey, Ye Anxin, didn’t you think his expression was strange just now?”

”Mm!” Ye Anxin nodded truthfully.

Ling Yueyue leaned in and whispered into Ye Anxin’s ear, ”Do you think he could be your mom’s old lover? Then for some reason, they were separated for years, and when he saw you, it was like seeing Auntie, which is why he’s so anxious to know Auntie’s name!”

”Cough cough! Cough cough...!” Hearing this, Ye Anxin choked on her own saliva!

What’s with this! It’s been twenty years, what old lover!

Seeing Ye Anxin’s face turn red from coughing, Ling Yueyue didn’t stop, instead nodding seriously, ”Mm! I think the more I look, the more it seems that way!”

Ye Anxin couldn’t help but poke Ling Yueyue’s forehead with her finger, ”Like your big head ghost! Hey, Ling Yueyue, can’t you say something reliable? In your eyes, everyone is an old lover? Ruan Zhitong is the Uncle’s old lover, and this guy is my mom’s old lover? Hey, can your thinking be normal? Do you think this is a soap opera! So convoluted and strange!”

Ling Yueyue rubbed her forehead where Ye Anxin had poked, giving a sheepish smile, ”Haha! Just joking! But speaking of which, there’s no normal person in the Nan Family, they’re all crazy! If he comes looking for you in the future, stay away! Or you’ll die very miserably!”

Ye Anxin nodded obediently, ”Mm! I understand!”

While the two were gleefully chatting, the taxi driver suddenly said, ”Hey, doesn’t it seem like that car behind us has been following us the whole time!”

Ling Yueyue and Ye Anxin were both taken aback, ”What?”

The driver glanced in the rearview mirror, ”Have a look, it’s that black Buick behind us. It’s been following us from the moment you got in the car till now!”

Ling Yueyue and Ye Anxin both leaned their necks out the car window, and indeed, not far behind their taxi, a black Buick was trailing them!

When their taxi sped up, it sped up, when they slowed, it slowed! No matter what, it always kept a distance of about a hundred meters from them!

The driver puzzledly asked, ”Are they friends of yours?”

Ling Yueyue and Ye Anxin remained silent, both deep in thought.

Ling Yueyue said gravely, ”Anxin, it looks like we’re being watched!”

Ye Anxin remained composed, asking calmly, ”Is their target me or you?”

”Hard to say!” Ling Yueyue’s brow furrowed, suddenly saying to the driver, ”Driver Uncle, can you find a way to shake off that car and take us either to Mu Building or Huo Tian Group?”

”I’ll try!” the driver nodded. Seeing the green light at the intersection ahead start to flash, if it were before, he would have stopped now and waited for the red light to pass before continuing. But this time, the driver didn’t stop, instead slamming the accelerator! Racing out.

The Buick behind tried to catch up, but unfortunately, it was a step too late. The green light had already turned red.

The taxi driver and Ling Yueyue Ye Anxin both breathed a sigh of relief, thinking they finally got rid of it.

But the driver inside the Buick didn’t care about the traffic lights at all, directly running through them.

Ling Yueyue couldn’t help but curse, ”Damn it, they’re determined to go after us! Driver, speed up!”

The driver looked through the rearview mirror at the relentless Buick, then said, ”Huo Tian Group is closer, I’ll take you there directly! That’s downtown, with so many people, they wouldn’t dare do anything to you in broad daylight!”

Ling Yueyue eagerly agreed, ”Alright! Thank you!”

The driver hit the accelerator hard again, picking up speed.

The taxi and the Buick started playing a game of cat and mouse on the street.

The Buick behind seemed to realize their intention, quickly accelerating, nearly overtaking them.

Taking advantage of the chase, Ling Yueyue hurriedly took out her cellphone and dialed a string of numbers.

The call was quickly connected, but the voice on the other end wasn’t Huo Junmo’s, but a woman’s voice.

Ling Yueyue anxiously asked, ”Where is Huo Junmo?”

The woman’s voice was respectful and polite, ”The President is currently in a meeting. May I ask who you are and what you need with him?”

Ling Yueyue cursed lowly, yelling at the top of her lungs, ”Damn it! I’m your President’s wife! Quickly, give the phone to your President and tell him I have something important!”
