Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 171: Chapter 170: Mrs. Ye’s Advice (Extra)

Ye’s mother nodded, ”Mm!”

”Then I’ll hang up now, you go ahead and get busy!” As she spoke, Ye Anxin prepared to hang up the phone, but Ye’s mother suddenly spoke up, ”Wait...!”

Ye Anxin stopped her motion, put the phone back to her ear, ”Mm? Mom, is there something else?”

”You...!” Ye’s mother stammered for a long time, looking like she wanted to say something but didn’t! After a while, she sighed slightly and said helplessly, ”Forget it, it’s nothing! Stay away from the Nan Family people in the future! They’re too aggressive, and if you encounter them, I’m afraid you’ll get hurt!”

Ye Anxin couldn’t help but let out a laugh, ”Mom, what are you talking about? I have nothing to do with the Nan Family people, how could I possibly run into them! They’re Mr. Huo’s ex-wife’s family, it would be Yueyue meeting them if anything! Don’t worry!”

”Anyway, no matter what, try to avoid anyone from the Nan Family in the future, got it? Don’t run into them directly!” Ye’s mother, instead of feeling relieved, sounded a bit urgent.

Ye Anxin just assumed her mother was scared and didn’t think much of it, smiling as she reassured her, ”Okay, okay, I know, I’ll stay far away from the Nan Family people in the future, so you can relax now!”

Hearing her promise, Ye’s mother finally nodded contentedly, ”Mm! Then I’ll go make dinner, hang up now!”

”Okay!” Ye Anxin replied obediently, then hung up the call.

After hanging up with her mother, Ye Anxin looked around the break room, feeling bored, she went out to find a book to read on the shelf.

To her surprise, half of the books on the shelf were ones she liked to read.

Why did Uncle have books she likes on his shelf?

Uncle couldn’t have known in advance that she would come to his office to keep him company, so he prepared the books to entertain her?

Ye Anxin didn’t think much of it, pulled out a book, curled up on the sofa opposite the desk, and started reading seriously.

Actually, she’s a complete bookworm! Her only hobby in life is reading!

Once, she spent the whole day reading from the moment she woke up until late at night without even remembering to eat!

Her mother knocked on the door several times but she didn’t hear!

When her mother came back from work and saw the untouched food on the table, she thought something had happened to her in the room, burst in scared, and when she saw her curled up on the chair reading, she gave her a good talking to.

Since then, she’s been more moderate.

Mu Beiting, who had been focused on working with Pete, lifted his head when he hadn’t heard a sound from Ye Anxin for a while. Seeing her obediently curled up on the sofa reading, the corners of his thin lips formed a handsome curve, and then he bowed his head, fully immersing himself in work again.

Ye Anxin read intently, and Mu Beiting worked intently, until Judy came in to replace a glass of milk, neither noticed.

Unknowingly, it was noon, and Judy, as usual, called a restaurant outside on time to order takeout for delivery.

She had been with the CEO for three years and was very familiar with the CEO’s habits!

The CEO is a workaholic, except for breakfast, lunch, and dinner are basically takeout!

Sometimes, he even worked alone late into the night!

Although it’s not her who stays late with the CEO, she would call for late-night snacks to be delivered to the company on time.

In the office, after processing a stack of documents Pete brought in, Mu Beiting closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose.

Pete noticed Mu Beiting’s fatigue and hurriedly said with concern, ”CEO, why not take a break first!”

Mu Beiting pursed his lips, glanced at his watch, nodded, and signaled Pete to leave with his eyes.

After Pete left, Mu Beiting stood up and walked step by step towards Ye Anxin.

Ye Anxin was so absorbed in reading that she didn’t notice Mu Beiting slowly approaching!

Seeing that Ye Anxin hadn’t noticed his presence, Mu Beiting sat down beside her and gave a tentative cough.

Ye Anxin still didn’t react, turning the pages one by one.

Seeing how absorbed she was, Mu Beiting didn’t disturb her and instead sat beside her, tilting his head, and stared at her unblinkingly.

Without noticing his deep gaze, Ye Anxin continued to be absorbed in her book.

Time silently passed, one reading, one watching the person next to them! Like this, who knows how long it went on, until the office door was knocked, and Judy came in, saying as she entered, ”CEO, the takeout has arrived, time to eat!”

Judy’s voice was not too loud or too soft, yet it caught Ye Anxin’s attention.

Hearing the word ”eat,” Ye Anxin suddenly snapped back to reality, realizing that Mu Beiting had somehow already sat beside her!

Ye Anxin folded the corner of the page she was reading as a bookmark, then closed the book, sat up straight, and asked softly, ”Uncle, how long have you been sitting next to me? Why didn’t you call me?”

A trace of awkwardness flashed across Mu Beiting’s face, he turned away and said unnaturally, ”Just got here!”

Upon hearing this, Judy paused from setting the takeout down, her head seemed to explode, and for a good while, she couldn’t recover!

The BOSS is lying!

Clearly Pete had gone out a while ago, and the morning’s work had already been wrapped up!

So how could the BOSS have just got there! He must be lying! Why lie?

The two in the room didn’t notice Judy’s unusual reaction, Ye Anxin smiled and leaned closer to Mu Beiting, ”Uncle, what time is it?”

Mu Beiting raised his hand to look at the watch on his wrist, ”Half-past twelve!”

”Oh! It’s indeed time to eat! Let’s eat!” Ye Anxin nodded, taking Mu Beiting’s arm, pulling him up, intending to walk to where Judy had set the takeout.

Mu Beiting grabbed her wrist, reached out to wrap around her slender waist, ”We’ll eat out!”

Ye Anxin asked puzzled, ”Why? The takeout’s already here!”

”I want to eat out!” Mu Beiting left a domineering remark, then wrapped his arms around Ye Anxin’s waist and walked out without looking back.

Judy bit her lip, clearly seething with anger, but had no choice but to pack the takeaway she just set out and take it away.

Mu Beiting took Ye Anxin to a Chinese restaurant across from the Mu Group!

Seeing Mu Beiting come in, the waiter hurriedly ushered him inside and led them directly to Mu Beiting’s usual private room.

After seating them, the waiter handed over the menu.

Mu Beiting handed the menu to Ye Anxin, ”You order!”

Ye Anxin didn’t stand on ceremony, taking the menu, and looked through it seriously.

”Uncle likes light flavors! I don’t like too greasy either! Uh...!” Ye Anxin said while looking, and finally pointed to a few pictures on the menu that looked good, ”Let’s go with these dishes! They look pretty good!”

Mu Beiting nodded, and said in a low voice, ”Let’s go with these then!”

”Yes, the dishes will be right up! Mr. Mu, please wait a moment!” The waiter took back the menu and left with his head lowered.
