Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 168: Chapter 167: Narrow Encounters with an Old Foe (Bonus Chapter)

This Mr. Mu seems to be jealous? It’s just a check-up. Is this necessary?

Mu Beiting coldly shouted, ”Get out!”

”Yes!” Understanding the situation, the ultrasound doctor was no longer entangled with the matter of changing doctors, nodded, and bowed his head to leave.

After the doctor left, Ye Anxin lightly elbowed Mu Beiting’s chest, dissatisfiedly saying, ”Uncle, doctors aren’t separated by gender! If everyone was like you, then no men would be allowed to become doctors!”

Mu Beiting pursed his lips, carefully pondering the words Ye Anxin said earlier, and suddenly his eyes lit up, ”I will immediately order all doctors to be replaced by women!” With that, he was ready to grab his phone.

Ye Anxin rolled her eyes sharply, yanked the phone away from Mu Beiting’s hand, ”Uncle... no! That way, plenty of people will lose their jobs! There’s nothing wrong with men being doctors! They have families to feed too!”

Mu Beiting pursed his lips, a trace of displeasure flashing in his eyes.

Ye Anxin held the phone tightly against her chest, negotiating, ”If you promise not to make that call, I’ll give your phone back!”

Mu Beiting fell into silence.

Ye Anxin pouted, acting coquettishly, ”Come on, please!”

Mu Beiting was silent for a moment, then gently nodded.

”Uncle, keep your word!” Ye Anxin blinked her moist eyes at Mu Beiting, handing back the phone to him.

Mu Beiting took back the phone, putting it back in his pants pocket.

At this moment, the director of the gynecology department, who had gone to find an ultrasound doctor, returned with a female ultrasound doctor.

Mu Beiting took one look at the female doctor, nodded in satisfaction, and instructed them to proceed.

Ye Anxin lay on the bed, exposing her little belly, allowing the ultrasound doctor to examine her.

The ultrasound doctor was meticulous, checking several times before speaking, ”Indeed pregnant, the pregnancy period is quite short, only a little over a month. So far, everything is normal. Please come for regular check-ups in the future.”

”So I am indeed pregnant?” Though having tested at home countless times, Ye Anxin was still uneasy and wanted to hear it directly from the doctor.

The ultrasound doctor nodded, ”Yes, confirmed pregnant! The period is still short, less than two months!”

”Thank you, truly, thank you so very much, doctor!” Getting the confirmed result, Ye Anxin finally felt an overwhelming joy enveloping her.

She’s pregnant, she really is, carrying Uncle’s child.

She really hadn’t imagined that after such a short time, she would be pregnant! She’s going to be a mom!

Ye Anxin wiped clean her belly, got up from the bed with Mu Beiting’s help, and stood on the ground to straighten her clothes.

The head doctor hurriedly said, ”Mr. Mu, once the blood test results are out, I’ll personally bring them to you!”

”Okay!” Mu Beiting nodded, then asked, ”Is there anything else that needs checking?”

The doctor truthfully replied, ”No more!”

”Okay!” Mu Beiting softly replied, and when Ye Anxin was done tidying up, he took her hand and led her out.

Walking side by side with Mu Beiting in the hospital corridor, Ye Anxin held onto his arm, leaning against it, with a face full of happiness, ”Uncle, I’m really pregnant. Are you happy?”

Mu Beiting was silent for quite a while, then subtly nodded, giving a gentle ”Mm.”

Ye Anxin asked again, ”Do you prefer a daughter or a son, Uncle?”

Without thinking, Mu Beiting said directly, ”A daughter! Like you!”

Ye Anxin looked up, pondering while talking, ”Either a son or a daughter is fine! If it is a son, I’ll make him a warm-hearted man, unlike his dad, who’s always so cold!”

Mu Beiting pursed his lips in silence, accompanying Ye Anxin to the elevator door.

Watching the numbers on the elevator change, Ye Anxin suddenly said to Mu Beiting, ”Uncle, I want to use the restroom! You wait here, I’ll be back soon!”

Mu Beiting looked around, seeing the restroom was just at the corner not far from the elevator, he didn’t say anything, and nodded in agreement.

Ye Anxin released Mu Beiting’s arm and walked into the hospital restroom.

After Ye Anxin was done and washing her hands in front of the mirror, a familiar figure suddenly appeared behind her.

Ye Anxin turned around and saw Xie Yunlu approaching step by step, blurting, ”Xie Yunlu, why are you here?”

Xie Yunlu smirked coldly, mocking, ”This is the obstetrics and gynecology department. I’m here for a prenatal check-up. Where else would I be?”

”...!” Hearing this, Ye Anxin was speechless, realizing that she had just asked a stupid question.

This is the best hospital in Jin City, and Xie Yunlu, being pregnant, would naturally do her prenatal care here! How silly of her to ask why she was here!

Xie Yunlu shot her a cold glance, ”Ye Anxin, you really are like a stubborn ghost! I meet you everywhere! Are you doing this on purpose, knowing Rufeng would be here today, and creating a chance for an encounter?”

”I’m sorry, you misunderstood! I don’t have any feelings for Mu Rufeng now, so there’s no need for you to always mock me this way! If I really wanted an encounter, I wouldn’t be in the bathroom! Besides, I haven’t even seen Mu Rufeng outside the bathroom! Also, I should thank you, because if it weren’t for you taking Mu Rufeng away, I wouldn’t have the life I have today!” Though the former words might sound harsh, the latter was sincerely heartfelt.

If it weren’t for being humiliated by Xie Yunlu on the day of getting their marriage certificate, she wouldn’t have impulsively married Uncle!

Now she’s very happy, very content! So in the end, she should thank Xie Yunlu, for their betrayal led to this life.

Xie Yunlu frowned, staring at Ye Anxin’s face intently, trying to find any signs of insincerity or lies.

Unfortunately, Ye Anxin’s expression was open and sincere, showing no signs of deceit!

Ye Anxin directly ignored her doubtful gaze, lowered her head, and instinctively glanced at her belly, ”Is the baby in your belly okay?”

Xie Yunlu raised her eyebrows dismissively, ”Of course fine! The baby in my belly is fine. Are you disappointed?”

Ye Anxin ignored her sarcasm and quickly said, ”Of course not! I don’t like you, but I don’t wish harm upon the baby in your belly! After all, it’s a life! Adult grievances should not be extended to the children!”

”Ha...” Xie Yunlu sneered coldly, ”You just said you wouldn’t fight with me over Mu Rufeng, and now you talk about adult grievances! What a pretender! Ye Anxin, stop pretending to be a saint! Seeing you act like this just disgusts me! I took your man, and I don’t believe you’re so generous that you don’t hate the child in my belly!”

To her constant picking, Ye Anxin simply ignored it, responding with unshakable certainty, ”I don’t hate!”
