Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 170: Chapter 169: Overbearing

Ye Anxin and Mu Beiting left the hospital hand in hand. Ye Anxin sighed helplessly, ”Sigh, there are so many wedding invitations lately, everywhere you look, someone is getting married or engaged!”

Mu Beiting’s thin lips pressed tightly together, he remained silent.

Ye Anxin was already used to his silence and asked, ”Mr. Gu, are you going to Miss Ruan and Mr. Gu’s engagement party the day after tomorrow?”

Without a second thought, Mu Beiting replied decisively, ”No!”

Ye Anxin blinked, asking in confusion, ”Why not? Aren’t you good friends with both Miss Ruan and Mr. Gu?”

Mu Beiting answered coldly, ”No reason!”

Ye Anxin blinked again and asked, ”Then will you go to Mu Rufeng and Xie Yunlu’s wedding in ten days?”

”No!” Mu Beiting answered just as decisively.

Ye Anxin said uncertainly, ”Mu Rufeng is your nephew, shouldn’t an uncle attend his nephew’s wedding?”

”No!” Mu Beiting didn’t explain, still using those two words.

”But Xie Yunlu just gave me an invitation, inviting me to go!” With that, Ye Anxin let go of Mu Beiting’s arm and took out Xie Yunlu’s wedding invitation from her backpack.

Mu Beiting glanced down at it, took the invitation from Ye Anxin’s hand, and without any reaction from her, directly tore it into pieces and threw it into a nearby trash can.

”Mr. Gu?” Ye Anxin exclaimed in shock, trying to snatch it back, but it was too late.

Mu Beiting grabbed her wrist and said domineeringly, ”You’re not allowed to go!”

”Why?” Ye Anxin was very puzzled.

Originally, the purpose of marrying Mr. Gu was to spite those cheating couples to death!

Although she no longer had this desire, she didn’t understand why Mr. Gu wouldn’t let her go.

And why was Mr. Gu so resistant to the Mu Family?

”No reason, you just can’t go!” Mu Beiting didn’t explain and remained as domineering as before.

”...?” Ye Anxin opened her mouth to say something, but in the end, she didn’t.

Even though her heart was filled with doubts, she didn’t ask again.

After several incidents in the past, she understood that regarding the Mu Family, she was better off not asking questions in front of Mr. Gu.

Because that was Mr. Gu’s pain, and asking once would be like reopening a scabbed wound and pouring salt on it.

That would cause Mr. Gu much pain! Therefore, it pained her heart and she couldn’t bear it.

Ye Anxin changed the topic, ”Mr. Gu, are you going to the company now?”

Mu Beiting replied, ”I’ll take you home first!”

Ye Anxin thought carefully and said, ”I don’t have any classes today, it’s really boring to stay at home! I don’t want to go back! Mr. Gu, you should go to the company first! I’ll just wander around! And maybe go see my mom! She left suddenly yesterday, she might have been scared! I’m worried about her!”

Mu Beiting refused without thinking, ”No!”

Ye Anxin frowned and asked in confusion, ”Why not?”

Mu Beiting said firmly, ”No reason, no is no!”

Remembering what happened in her parents’ rental house last time, Ye Anxin sighed inwardly and, keeping her patience, said softly, ”I just care about my mom and want to see her, nothing else!”

”Not letting you have any thoughts!” Mu Beiting frowned deeply, his long arms wrapping around Ye Anxin’s slim waist, pulling her into his embrace with a gesture that was both domineering and gentle.

Not wanting to argue with Mu Beiting about this issue, Ye Anxin had no choice but to sigh and take a step back, speaking gently, ”Then I’ll call my mom later! I’ll leave it for now! Mr. Gu, go to work! I don’t want to go home, I just want to wander around!”

Mu Beiting raised his hand, looked at the time on his watch, and after thinking for a moment, said, ”Accompany me to the company first, and then I’ll accompany you shopping later!”

Unexpectedly hearing such a statement, Ye Anxin was startled at first, then she smiled brightly, deliberately teasing, ”Mr. Gu, aren’t you busy? How do you have time to shop with me?”

A slight blush spread across Mu Beiting’s handsome face, and he said a bit unnaturally, ”You’re pregnant now, you have to be careful!”

Upon hearing this, any slight annoyance Ye Anxin had for him disappeared, her heart warm, ”In that case, I’ll go with Mr. Gu to the company first! We can talk after Mr. Gu finishes work! I’m just bored, it’s not like I must go shopping! I just don’t want to be cooped up at home!”

”Yes!” Mu Beiting nodded, taking Ye Anxin into the business car and heading straight to Mu Group.

When they arrived at the company, it was almost noon!

Ye Anxin followed Mu Beiting to the CEO’s office. Mu Beiting pointed to a room inside the office, ”If you’re tired, rest inside! If you’re bored, there are books on the shelf you can read to pass the time!”

Ye Anxin looked in the direction Mu Beiting pointed, glanced at the rest room, and then back at the bookshelf, ”Okay! Don’t mind me, you go ahead with your work!”

Mu Beiting glanced at her, took off his suit jacket, hung it up, and sat down in the leather chair behind the desk.

Soon, Pete and Judy came in together.

Judy was carrying two cups of coffee, one for Mu Beiting and one for Ye Anxin.

Before the coffee reached Ye Anxin, they heard Mu Beiting’s deep voice, ”Replace madam’s with milk tea!”

Judy’s hand paused slightly, then nodded and left with the coffee.

After Judy left, Pete placed a stack of documents on Mu Beiting’s desk, and began to work with Mu Beiting.

Worried about her mother, Ye Anxin went into the rest room to call her mother.

The phone rang for a long time without anyone answering.

No one answering the phone, Ye Anxin’s unease grew.

Could it be that mother was really frightened yesterday?

The more she thought about it, the more afraid she became. Ye Anxin quickly dialed the number again.

After some rings, the call was finally answered.

As soon as the call connected, Ye Anxin eagerly asked, ”Mom, what are you doing? Why did you only just answer the phone?”

On the other end, her mother answered, ”I was cooking just now, didn’t hear the phone ring!”

”Oh!” Her mother’s explanation was logical, and Ye Anxin didn’t think much of it, immediately feeling relieved.

Ye Anxin asked again, ”Mom, when did you leave yesterday? Were you scared? Why didn’t you say anything when you left?”

Her mother explained, ”A little! You know, Mom’s health isn’t great! I can’t handle so much commotion, so I left first! There were too many people at the time, I couldn’t find you, so I didn’t tell you! I planned to call you after I got back, but I forgot!”

Ye Anxin didn’t suspect anything, ”Oh! It’s fine then, as long as you’re alright, I was worried you were frightened! If you’re not feeling well, rest well; I’ll find time to visit you!”
