The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Anning thought for a moment: “Didn’t you say before that you wanted to apply to a university in the Capital? Then you should buy an apartment there.”

An Yi thought it was a good idea.

In the evening, Pei Yu hurried over. As soon as she stepped in, she hugged Anning and kissed her: “It’s worth loving you, isn’t it? Look, how much money you’ve made for your little aunt. With this money, I could lie down and spend it for a lifetime.”

Anning laughed as she disentangled from Pei Yu: “Little aunt, you can’t just leave the money sitting there. You might as well invest in property, buy a building or some shops. In the future, even if you don’t want to sing, you could be a landlord.”

Xiao Yuan came out after showering and changing clothes, just in time to hear the last sentence.

He immediately took out a map of Dream City, pointing to several undeveloped areas: “Little aunt, pick a place to buy land. These areas are pretty good; I think they will develop soon. If you’re going to invest, maximize your profits—rather than buying ready-made houses or units, better to buy land and exchange it for properties when they develop.”

“Which area do you think is good?”

Pei Yu trusted Xiao Yuan’s judgment very much, so she asked him directly.

Xiao Yuan pointed out two places: “Try to find some connections and see if you can secure them.”

Pei Yu furrowed her brows, pondering for a while, likely thinking about someone among her acquaintances who could help: “Alright, I’ll give it a try. If it doesn’t work, I’ll start by buying a smaller plot of land.”

“Can I buy land?” An Yi raised her hand to ask.

Anning tapped her forehead: “What could you buy with your money? Besides, little aunt plans to stay here long-term, so naturally she’ll invest here. You’re planning to go to the Capital, so why buy property here? Buy an apartment in the Capital, buy a few more, and wait for them to appreciate.”

“How are the house prices in the Capital?”

An Yi was a little dissatisfied: “I should have invested more when I had the chance. Oh, by the way, next time there’s such a good deal, don’t forget about me.”

Anning waved her hand: “Such opportunities don’t come often, don’t think about it; focus on buying an apartment.”

Even though she couldn’t buy land, buying a house kept An Yi in good spirits.

Anning and Xiao Yuan didn’t stay in Dream City for long. They wandered around for two days, bought some things, then left.

When they reached home, the houses were built, just waiting for decoration.

Building the house had spent nearly all the money, and Pei Laoshi had no more funds so couldn’t afford the decoration.

With Anning’s return and her finances, she naturally wanted to decorate the house well.

She and Xiao Yuan spent two days in the building materials market, driving back with quite a few supplies, without hiring anyone, having the family work on it themselves.

Anning and Xiao Yuan were skilled, with Pei Laoshi leading Zhao Chuan and Chen Qiang plus Xiao Po, who came to help as laborers. The six of them worked for more than a month and finally finished decorating the house.

By then, it was already summer, and the weather was getting hotter day by day, with villagers from Xiaxi Village starting to frequently visit the Pei Family.

The main reason was that the wheat was about to be harvested, and together they thought about last year’s choice of not planting corn and instead earning quite a bit during winter with greenhouse vegetables. They too wanted to plant greenhouse vegetables, so they planned to consult Pei Laoshi to see if he was willing to guide them in planting.

Pei Laoshi primarily looked to Anning, so he asked her.

Anning was already prepared.

She went to the village committee and met with the village chief, then called for a meeting with everyone from Xiaxi Village.

During the meeting, Anning proposed two options for everyone: The first was to let the Pei Family contract their land, and the Pei Family would employ them to farm, providing rent and wages annually, with wages at the highest factory worker rate of US$ 400 per person per month and rent being US$ 500 per acre.

The second option was that Anning would provide them with techniques, teaching them to grow greenhouse vegetables themselves, but the success or failure was at their own risk, and Anning would not be responsible for the profits or losses.

After Anning finished, she let everyone consider. Some families thought the first option was good, with plenty of land and hands, they could earn ten thousand a year, while others preferred to cultivate themselves, regardless of profit or loss.
