The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Pei Yu couldn’t even eat in peace, constantly answering phone calls.

”Brother, it’s not that I’m refusing you, it’s just that my schedule is packed to the brim. I’m almost dead tired here. Just take pity on your little sister, alright? I’ll rush over as soon as I have a chance, don’t worry. Your issues are my issues. How could I forget about you?”

”President Wu, this is Pei Yu. You’re talking about the endorsement thing, right? I’m aware, but we need to discuss the price a bit more...”

”Aunt Fang, performing gigs? It’s too rushed right now. It will have to wait till next month. I’m practically split into eight pieces trying to get everything done.”

Finally done with the calls, Pei Yu tossed the phone onto the table and let out a long sigh: ”I’m really about to collapse.”

Anning smiled and said, ”If you’re feeling exhausted, you can turn down some work. Besides, it’s not wise for you to handle everything alone. You should find a manager or an assistant to help you.”

Pei Yu wanted to smoke but seeing Anning and Xiao Yuan, she put the cigarette back: ”I’m looking, just haven’t found the right person yet.”

Anning poured a glass of water for Pei Yu and advised her: ”Take it easy. Health is the most important. Don’t work yourself to the ground.”

”I know, I know.” Pei Yu laughed, ”I owe some favors before, so I need to complete these tasks. Once this busy period is over, I’ll take a break.”

While eating, Xiao Yuan talked about investments with Pei Yu and An Yi.

Xiao Yuan had arranged with Huang Long to start a fund. The main capital came from Huang Long, while Xiao Yuan assisted in operations.

Xiao Yuan asked Pei Yu and An Yi if they wanted to invest some money.

As soon as they heard, both of them immediately expressed they wanted to invest.

An Yi still had a sum of money, and Pei Yu, besides the money she had saved before, had made quite a bit recently. She kept some for daily expenses and handed the rest over to Xiao Yuan.

Xiao Yuan didn’t stay in Dream City long before going to Mingzhu City.

Anning didn’t go over.

She had some money in hand and was just playing around in the stock market, not caring much about profit or loss.

Other than swinging by the stock market daily, Anning spent the rest of her time helping An Yi with her studies and tutoring her for exams.

Xiao Yuan stayed in Mingzhu City for almost a month before rushing back for two days, after which he quickly left again. Apparently, this time he went abroad, but Anning didn’t ask which country, and Xiao Yuan didn’t say.

Anning’s investment in the stock market had already quadrupled. She sold the stocks she bought earlier, withdrew the money, and bought a few more stocks.

Xiao Yuan was gone for three months again. When he returned, he was exhausted. As soon as he entered An Yi’s home, he fell asleep on the sofa.

Anning came home, saw Xiao Yuan sleeping soundly, quickly covered him with a blanket, and then went to the kitchen to cook.

When Xiao Yuan woke up, he smelled the aroma of food wafting through the air.

His stomach growled with hunger, and he rubbed his eyes before heading to the kitchen.

”You’re awake.”

Anning placed a bowl of soup on the dining table: ”Wash your hands and eat.”

”Okay.”

Xiao Yuan washed his hands, and after they finished eating, he finally talked to Anning about how much he had earned this time.

This time, the amount of money Xiao Yuan brought was significantly more than before. With a more substantial investment from Huang Long, they first invested in futures in Mingzhu City. After making a profit there, they went to Country A and stayed for over a week, shorting the futures market there and earning a significant amount. Then they went to Country R, where Xiao Yuan and Huang Long caused quite a stir in the stock market, and nearly doubled their initial investment in just under a month.

Huang Long was thrilled with the earnings and urged Xiao Yuan to stay in Country E for a while.

This time, Huang Long made a fortune, and naturally, Xiao Yuan received a share of the profits as well.

Xiao Yuan brought initial capital of about two million, and by the time he came back, excluding his share of the profits, it had grown to almost one hundred million.

Moreover, the bonus Huang Long gave to Xiao Yuan was even more than that.

Xiao Yuan handed the money to Anning: ”It’s enough for you to build roads and open a factory.”

Just then, An Yi came back from her tutoring class, and Anning handed her portion of the money to her.

An Yi, starting with an initial investment of fifty thousand, saw her money multiply fortyfold to around 2.4 million.

With the larger amount Pei Yu invested, about one million, her investment grew to over forty million.

When Anning called Pei Yu to tell her to come and collect her money, Pei Yu was so excited by the figures she couldn’t stop screaming.

An Yi held onto her bankbook, examining it over and over, then asked Anning: ”Just keeping this money around isn’t really useful, what do you think I should do with it?”
