Chapter 268: Chapter 268: I Challenge the Authenticity of the T2 Tibetan Mastiff’s Data

Challenge?

Feng Weihao, the president of the Hurricane Consortium, actually raised a challenge in public!

This was an unexpected turn of events for everyone, but upon second thought, it seemed like a move the Hurricane Consortium might have anticipated.

After all, the quoted price for the T2 Tibetan Mastiff-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer from the North Goose Starship Technology Group had completely exceeded the Hurricane Consortium’s acceptable range.

A quoted price of three million Star Coins!

This was like stabbing a knife straight into the heart of the Hurricane Consortium.

Some might say, why not just lower your prices, Hurricane Consortium?

If they offer three million Star Coins, you offer two and a half million!

After all, your construction cost is only two hundred thousand Star Coins, so there’s still room for profit, right?

Even if the T2 Hyena-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer were to continuously lower its price, there would still be profit margins, but that doesn’t mean the Hurricane Consortium could lower prices indefinitely.

If you lower your price to three million Star Coins, or even two and a half million Star Coins now,

what about the clients who previously bought your starships for four million Star Coins?

Or those who just signed contracts but haven’t yet received their starships?

What would they think if they haven’t even received their starships yet, and you suddenly slash prices by a quarter?

If the Hurricane Consortium dared to do this, the consequences would be terrifying!

The only solution President Feng Weihao could think of was to challenge the authenticity of the T2 Tibetan Mastiff-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer from the North Goose Starship Technology Group!

Such challenges are permitted.

Before the Military Procurement Conference begins, considering the confidentiality of core technologies among starship manufacturers, the Empire does not require the disclosure of excessive core technical data. Only basic starship-related data is subjected to inspection.

As for other performance data, it is entirely up to the starship manufacturers to provide.

This has led some starship manufacturers to take risks, exaggerating the performance of their starships to some extent or prioritizing combat capability while neglecting reliability and stability.

Historically, there have been cases where starships boasted about their performance, initially demonstrating impressive combat capability, only to develop numerous issues after a few years of service.

Of course, the Empire would not suffer in silence, and those starship manufacturers paid the corresponding price.

Although such situations are rare, the possibility cannot be ruled out.

Therefore, to ensure fairness in Military Procurement Exhibitions, the Empire grants participants the ”Right to Challenge.”

However, if the challenge fails, the challenger will bear all costs incurred during the process and forfeit their security deposit for participating in the Military Procurement Conference.

This was Feng Weihao’s gamble!

He did not believe that the suddenly rising North Goose Starship Technology Group could truly develop a starship that completely outperformed his T2 Hyena-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer.

At this moment, the host stepped onto the stage and solemnly asked the Hurricane Consortium president below: ”President Feng Weihao, do you challenge the credibility of the performance data of your competitor’s T2 Tibetan Mastiff-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer?”

”Yes!” President Feng Weihao replied through gritted teeth.

The host immediately looked towards the seats of the Military Procurement Committee. ”Next, the Military Procurement Committee will discuss the Hurricane Consortium’s challenge to the products of the North Goose Starship Technology Group. Please wait a moment.”

The members of the Military Procurement Committee began discussing the matter.

To be honest, they had never expected that the T2 Tibetan Mastiff-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer, with such performance, could still offer such a price.

If what Li Yaqi said was true, then undoubtedly, choosing the T2 Tibetan Mastiff-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer would be the best option for this military procurement order.

However, compared to the long-established T2 Hyena-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer, the T2 Tibetan Mastiff-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer was shrouded in too much mystery and uncertainty.

”Members of the Military Procurement Committee, I accept the challenge raised by the Hurricane Consortium against our group.

I suggest that since the Hurricane Consortium believes the performance of the T2 Tibetan Mastiff-class Heavy Interstellar Destroyer developed and manufactured by our group is fraudulent, why not simply hold a duel?

The true place for a starship to demonstrate its capabilities should not be in such a setting but in real starship combat.” Li Yaqi’s words shocked everyone.

The entire venue erupted in an uproar!

No one had expected Li Yaqi to proactively propose a starship duel between her T2 Tibetan Mastiff-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer and the Hurricane Consortium’s T2 Hyena-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer.

But upon second thought, wasn’t this the best way for these two starships to prove themselves?

”Please wait a moment. Our Military Procurement Committee needs to discuss this proposal.” The Military Procurement Committee members immediately began deliberating.

The people in the venue also engaged in heated discussions.

Inside the private box.

Chu Xuan praised, ”Li Yaqi’s move is truly brilliant. First, she directly compared her starship to the Hurricane Consortium’s, stepping on the T2 Hyena to elevate herself.

Then, she threw out a price of three million Star Coins, which the Hurricane Consortium could never compete with.

Now, faced with the Hurricane Consortium’s challenge, she calmly chooses to engage in a starship duel!

If the performance of Li Yaqi’s T2 Tibetan Mastiff-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer is truly as outstanding as she claims,

and if such a starship duel were to take place, Li Yaqi would completely use the Hurricane Consortium’s T2 Hyena-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer as her stepping stone.

And a perfect stepping stone at that.

In just one day, the T2 Tibetan Mastiff-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer would become famous overnight, seizing all the market share of the T2 Hyena-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer!”

”Three million Star Coins! That’s a price I never expected either.” Su Lan nodded in agreement.

Xue Xiaoxiao, on the other hand, was eagerly anticipating the upcoming starship duel.

Zhao Wan’er looked at Zhao Chen, who wore a faint smile, and couldn’t help but feel a sense of cunning businessman about him. She increasingly suspected that her older brother was the mastermind behind the T2 Tibetan Mastiff-class Medium Interstellar Destroyer.

After several dozen minutes of deliberation by the Military Procurement Committee, a committee representative stood up and announced, ”After careful discussion by our Military Procurement Committee,

aside from Starship No. 6 and Starship No. 7, all other stellar destroyers have been eliminated from this military procurement selection.

We also approve the starship duel between Starship No. 6, the North Goose Starship Technology Group, and Starship No. 7, the Hurricane Consortium.”

This starship duel will simulate a real battlefield, with each side dispatching thirty starships to engage in combat within a designated area.

The duel is scheduled to commence in five hours. Both parties are requested to begin preparations immediately.”

The committee representative’s words instantly elevated the atmosphere in the venue to its peak.

A showdown between two T2 interstellar destroyers—this was simply too thrilling.

It was bound to become the most sensational headline of this military procurement event.

Li Yaqi exchanged a knowing smile with President Feng Weihao in the audience, their eyes meeting as if sparks were flying between them.

Subsequently, following the instructions of the staff, they each departed to prepare for the upcoming starship duel.
