Not Being a Trainer This Time

Naoki packed up his things and then left the Royal Dome straight away.

On his way back to the ranch, he used his match winnings to buy a few Malasadas from a roadside stall.

When he returned to the ranch riding on Cyclizar, he saw Koraidon with its head drooping, lying dejectedly on the grass at the entrance of the ranch.

It looked like a big dog waiting at the village gate for its owner to return home.

Seeing them return from outside, Koraidon’s eyes immediately lit up, and it stood up from the ground.

If Koraidon were actually a canine Pokemon, its tail would have been wagging wildly by now.

Thinking of this, Naoki’s heart softened. He got off Cyclizar and reached out to rub Koraidon’s head a couple of times.

”Didn’t I tell you to watch TV in the house? Why did you run out again?”

Since Koraidon cannot be retracted into a Poke Ball, to prevent others from discovering Koraidon’s identity, before each match at the Royal Dome, Naoki would leave it at the ranch and turn on the TV so that it could watch his match on TV.

”A-gaa-sii...”

However, Koraidon pitifully indicated that it had watched!

It only ran out after the match ended because it knew Naoki would be coming back soon, so it waited here.

Naoki: ”...”

”Just stay put for a few more days, it’s almost done.” Naoki patted Koraidon’s head to comfort it.

Then he took out the Malasadas he bought for Koraidon from his bag and fed them to it by hand.

Koraidon’s mood shifted quickly, and it soon happily enjoyed the treat Naoki fed it.

Just then, Giratina suddenly called via video call.

Naoki, looking confused, answered the call.

The next second, he heard Giratina’s roar from the other end.

”That’s Arceus’s power! I saw it!”

”?”

At first, Naoki didn’t understand the meaning of Giratina’s words, but quickly, he thought of the move Alcremie had just used.

”Calm down, that was Alcremie’s [Metronome], with a bit of luck, Metronome can result in any move, it can even use your [Shadow Force].” Naoki reassured.

Hearing this, Giratina looked skeptical, with a big question mark popping up above its head.

Really? Is that Metronome move so powerful?

Can it learn it? If it learned Metronome, could it use Arceus’s Judgment?

No way! Now doesn’t seem to be the time to talk about this.

Recalling the scene when Alcremie used that move, Giratina still felt a bit worried.

Its tone was very serious: ”We won’t get targeted by Arceus, right?”

After all, what they were doing wasn’t exactly a good thing...

Giratina knew very well that this time Naoki was competing in those matches to find something to strengthen their power, to prepare for revenge against Arceus later on.

Hearing Giratina’s words, Naoki paused slightly: ”How could it be possible?”

According to the plot of the movie ”Arceus and the Jewel of Life”, Arceus is probably still sleeping in some corner!

After all, to prevent the Meteorite from falling, it used up too much power and needed to recover by sleeping.

”Don’t worry, it’s not time for Arceus to awaken yet!” Naoki comforted, after all, Dialga and Palkia haven’t started fighting yet.

Only then did Giratina let go of its worries, after all, Naoki seemed to possess some sort of ability to know the past and future.

With their relationship, Naoki would never deceive it!

However, Naoki wasn’t entirely sure of Arceus’s exact awakening time, as it wasn’t specified in the movie.

Based on the attire of Ash and the others, it seemed to be between summer and fall.

Just to be safe, after some contemplation, Naoki said to Giratina:

”You can ask your fans if any of them live in Midina, have them keep an eye out, because when Arceus awakens, it will appear there.”

”How do you know that?” Giratina was a bit puzzled.

Naoki: ”...Because there are legends of Arceus in Midina!”

Seeing Giratina still confused, Naoki proceeded to explain the movie’s plot to it.

”In short, Arceus, to express gratitude to a human who saved its Plates, merged five of its Plates into a [Jewel of Life] and entrusted it to that person.”

”Arceus made a promise with that person to return the Jewel of Life later, but that person broke the promise and ambushed Arceus, causing it to be severely injured, forcing it into a long slumber, and vowed to punish humanity upon waking.”

”Therefore, if Arceus awakens, it will definitely first punish humanity in Midina.”

After hearing this, Giratina suddenly understood.

But soon, it realized something was amiss.

Wait! If Arceus went into slumber over a thousand years ago, then who was that Arceus that appeared three hundred years ago?

”Hmm? Did you notice something?” Noticing Giratina’s expression of seriousness mixed with a hint of alarm, Naoki was quite surprised.

Could it be that Giratina knew some secrets that weren’t shown in the movie?

With a solemn expression, Giratina voiced its suspicions:

”I suspect Arceus never really slept, it’s been lying!”

Naoki: ”?”

”According to what you said, it’s been asleep for a thousand years without waking, but I sensed its presence three hundred years ago!” Giratina said.
