Not Being a Trainer This Time

Naoki’s assessment of this was that it was largely unnecessary.

Leaving Ho-oh aside for now, if Rayquaza, Groudon, and Kyogre appeared, they would likely cause a huge uproar.

Calyrex and Giratina, the Legendary Pokemon active on the internet, wouldn’t cause any less of a sensation.

As for Mewtwo...

If it appeared, Team Rocket would likely target it immediately.

After careful consideration, Naoki decided to decline assistance from these Legendary Pokemon.

Giratina felt quite disappointed, as it missed a good chance to increase its fan base.

The other Legendary Pokemon didn’t say much, except for Ho-oh, who offered to send its Ho-oh Guard to lend a hand.

Seeing Ho-oh’s message, Naoki thought carefully and then replied.

[Wing King: Is it Entei, Suicune, and Lei Gong?]

[Ho-oh: Yes, they are my avatars in this world, who have done many things for me and are very reliable Pokemon.]

[Wing King: Where are they now?]

[Ho-oh: In the Johto Region.]

Naoki: ”...”

That’s not feasible; even though he would quite like to meet Entei and the others, the Johto Region is eight hundred leagues away from Alola, and Entei and the others have no way to cross the sea; they simply can’t make it in time for the Royal Battle.

Moreover, they’re not familiar with each other.

Thinking this through, Naoki gave his reply.

[Wing King: Next time then, I’m afraid we won’t make it this time.]

[Ho-oh: Alright, if you need in the future, I can summon the Ho-oh Guard here to meet you.]

To come here and see the person it has chosen.

In Ho-oh’s heart, this human named Naoki has already fulfilled the conditions to become the Rainbow Hero.

It should let Entei and the others meet this new Rainbow Hero.

At this moment, Mewtwo also found Arboliva, who was tidying things up at the Pokemon Guild.

It used its Rotom Phone to set up a video call with Naoki.

Soon, the video call was connected.

”Arboliva, do you have time now? There’s something I’d like to ask your help with.” Naoki said, ”I’m facing a bit of an issue here in the Alola Region, and there are two battles to attend.”

Opposite, Arboliva nodded gladly, saying ”Li~”

Seeing Arboliva agree, Naoki smiled and said, ”Great, then I’ll go back to the ranch to pick you up in the evening.”

”Li~”

Arboliva nodded gently.

After the call ended, Naoki noted down Arboliva’s name.

One Pokemon wasn’t enough; to be prepared just in case, Naoki thought he needed to prepare multiple Pokemon, at least three.

Arboliva was the first, so now there were two more needed.

With the current Pokemon in the ranch...

Images of various Pokemon flashed quickly through Naoki’s mind.

Soon, a swift figure holding a leek appeared in his mind.

Got it! Farfetch’d can also join the battle!

Now, who’s the last one to choose?

At this moment, Alcremie suddenly ran in from outside.

Seeing Naoki looking troubled, it jumped onto the sofa and asked, ”Mama?”

Naoki glanced at Alcremie and replied, ”I’m preparing to participate in a Pokemon battle match, but there’s still one missing Pokemon. I don’t know who would be best to enter.”

Hearing this, Alcremie’s eyes lit up and it immediately spoke out, ”Mama!”

It thought it could join the battle!

Hm? Seeing Alcremie’s expression, Naoki was slightly taken aback: ”Do you want to participate?”

”Mama!” Alcremie’s eyes became as determined as Kubfu’s, full of Guts.

It’s now also a very powerful Pokemon!

This was a situation Naoki had never considered.

Let Alcremie join the Royal Battle?

But Alcremie’s battle relies entirely on luck... if its Metronome doesn’t pull a good move, it might get eliminated by the other three opponents in the first round.

Noticing Naoki’s hesitant expression, Alcremie puffed up its cheeks, looking upset - Naoki didn’t believe in it!

”Mama!”

Alcremie angrily cried out, turning its head away in a huff.

”...”

”Alright, alright, I didn’t say you couldn’t join.” Naoki hurriedly comforted it.

Letting Alcremie join wasn’t a big deal, anyway, with Farfetch’d and Arboliva having his back.

If worse comes to worst, there’s always the Legendary Pokemon from the World Tree who could step in.

”Since that’s the case, I’ll be counting on you, Alcremie!” Naoki said.

”Mama?” Sure enough, hearing this, Alcremie immediately turned its head to look over.

”Of course it’s true.” Naoki nodded.

This made Alcremie satisfied.

”Mama!”

It shouted joyfully, its little face full of fighting spirit.

It was determined to help Naoki win!

Naoki quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

With this, the lineup for the Royal Battle was decided.

Looking at the time, it was now two in the afternoon.

The ranch’s cleaning was done, and it was about time they headed back to the Paldea Region.

But before that, Naoki planned to go to the Royal Dome.

An hour later, on Akala Island, Naoki walked slowly along this wide Royal Avenue with Koraidon.

This area is located in the central region of Akala Island. The road is paved forward around the popular spot, the Royal Dome, and various shop facilities line its sides.

Pokemon Center, Malasada Shop, Super Value Supermarket, Pokemon Fan Club, and even a park filled with blooming peach pink flowers.
