Not Being a Trainer This Time

The arena flickering with neon lights was almost filled with spectators. Some held cheering sticks, some wore headbands with player codes, and some were shirtless, shouting excitedly.

”Oh ho! Tsareena, I want to drink your foot sweat!”

”Go! Incineroar, use your sexy and strong muscles to tear those guys apart!”

”Exeggutor, it’s up to you this time!”

”...”

”Wow!” The commentator Roger, standing on a suspended platform, held a microphone, his eyes excitedly looking towards the arena below: ”The fans are really enthusiastic! The three contestants are in perfect condition, it looks like today will be an incredibly intense battle!”

”Oh oh oh!”

A burst of monkey calls rose from the audience.

However, Roger shifted the topic to a contestant named King Yi.

”But, are there no fans of King Yi here? King Yi and his ace Farfetch’d have battled their way to this point!”

The audience suddenly quieted down.

People looked at the unfamiliar young man standing in the arena and the small-sized Pokémon in front of him, and began to whisper among themselves.

Roger noticed this scene, initially not understanding what was happening.

But when he cast his gaze toward the arena, he discovered something astonishing.

King Yi had actually switched his Pokémon!

”Oh my! King Yi has changed his Pokémon, not Farfetch’d, but an Alcremie!”

Roger widened his eyes, unable to resist exclaiming.

Alcremie, a Pokémon from the Galar Region, is small-sized and not very good at fighting. Compared to engaging in fierce battles in the arena, they are clearly more suited to shining in confectioneries.

Even in its origin, the Galar Region, it’s rare for Trainers to use Alcremie in battles.

Just because their strength is quite weak!

Even their proficient moves are all of an auxiliary nature, like ”Decorate,” ”Aromatherapy,” ”Aromatic Mist.”

And now, in such a critical match, King Yi has replaced the powerful Farfetch’d with such a harmless Pokémon?

At that moment, a big question mark popped up in Roger’s head.

All four contestants in the arena had already sent out their Pokémon. Once the bell rings, a chaotic battle will erupt at any moment.

Under the spotlight, Incineroar crossed its muscular arms, eyes glaring fiercely ahead.

The golden belt at its waist burned with raging fire, and beneath its red fur, clear muscles were visible, with sharp claws partly retracted, gleaming frighteningly under the light.

Exeggutor was tall, the three heads on its top and the one on its tail looking around.

Its long neck twisted with crackling sounds, as if warming up its body, the massive head trembling, seemingly impatient to smash its opponent.

Tsareena stood coldly under the spotlight, eyes haughty and disdainful, her slender legs shimmering with a bewitching purple light.

Though she appeared elegant, everyone familiar with Tsareena knew that once the battle started, she would mercilessly crush enemies underfoot with her cruel heart and slender legs.

And across from these three Pokémon, the soft and harmless Alcremie melted into the crowd.

Using its sweet, innocent eyes to curiously observe the three Pokémon in front of it.

”King Yi didn’t bring the wrong Pokémon, did he?” Roger couldn’t help but ask with the microphone.

If he didn’t voice a reminder now, when the match starts, the poor Alcremie would be easily overpowered by the other three opponents.

Hearing this, Naoki was slightly taken aback, then realized the commentator was speaking to him.

He inwardly sighed, yet shook his head towards the stage above, indicating he didn’t need to change Pokémon.

The other three also cast surprising glances this way.

Exeggutor, dressed in an Exeggutor pajama, appeared to be a lean man.

Incineroar, like a Pokémon, boasted a body of strong muscles.

While Tsareena’s Trainer was a tall woman dressed in a bunny-girl outfit, wearing a mask.

”Hey, are you kidding?” The short-tempered Incineroar felt like the boy opposite wasn’t taking them seriously.

Naoki: ”...”

Alcremie, noticing the disdain in its opponents’ eyes, immediately spoke up for Naoki: ”Maa maa!”

”Haha, in that case, your points will be collected by me, Incineroar!” Incineroar glanced disdainfully.

”Cough cough, it seems the gunpowder between the contestants is also ignited now!”

Seeing that King Yi didn’t need to change Pokémon, Roger continued:

”Yes, that’s exactly how it should be! Matches full of gunpowder are more exciting! So I announce, the match begins!”

”Ding ding ding ding!”

Suddenly, the air was filled with a series of dense bell rings.

As the sound rose, everyone on the field issued commands at the same time.

”Exeggutor, use Hypnosis on Tsareena!” Exeggutor’s Trainer immediately commanded.

In the arena, the long-necked Exeggutor collectively turned its heads, and the eyes of the three heads simultaneously glowed with a layer of blue light.
