Not Being a Trainer This Time

”Hmm?”

At this moment, Naoki noticed some commotion from behind. He turned his head and saw a pale-faced young man standing at the entrance.

On the man’s shoulder stood a green grass snake Pokemon, the grass-type starter Pokemon Snivy from the Unova Region.

However, his gaze was fixed on Koraidon, and it seemed that he was intimidated by Koraidon.

”You all continue eating, I’ll go over there and take a look.”

Naoki poured all the carrots from the bucket into the feeding troughs for Spectrier and Glastrier, saying to them as he did.

The two horses snorted indifferently, indicating they understood, and then lowered their heads to munch on the carrots.

Naoki walked over, patted Koraidon’s head, and asked, ”And you are?”

John finally snapped out of it and hurriedly replied, ”Uh... Hello! I’m John, a live streamer. Recently, there have been rumors about you online, and everyone is very curious, so I wanted to come and visit you!”

Naoki instantly understood.

He glanced at the Rotom Phone floating mid-air and nodded, ”I see... So how would you like to learn more?”

John quickly replied, ”I also want to have a Pokemon battle with Miltank!”

Naoki: ”?”

Why are all these people so interested in his milk-producing cow Pokemon?

Naoki found it somewhat incomprehensible.

He intended to refuse, but seeing Miltank eager for action behind him, he ultimately agreed.

”Alright, I accept your challenge.”

Miltank seemed to have taken a liking to the feeling of using Rollout to tackle others from the last time.

Naoki put away his tools, washed his hands, and then proceeded to the battle field.

”Although I don’t know why you want to battle Miltank, since you want to try, we have no reason to refuse,” Naoki said,

Unexpectedly, John did not send Snivy into the battle but instead took out another Poke Ball from his pocket: ”Okay, we’re ready!”

With that, he forcefully threw the Poke Ball forward.

Along with a flash of white light, a massive, muscular Pokemon with light brown skin appeared on the battle field.

It had a long and powerful jaw, its body covered in striking black stripes, and sharp claws on its hands and feet, looking quite ferocious.

Naoki immediately recognized that Pokemon.

It was Krookodile, a Pokemon from the Unova Region, along with that Snivy. This showed that this person was from the Unova Region.

The audience in the live streaming room also saw the two Pokemon on the field.

[Does the streamer plan to use Krookodile against that Miltank?]

[If I remember correctly, Krookodile can learn Dig and Sand Tomb, which can counter Miltank’s Rollout quite effectively.]

[Place your bets, guess who’s going to win?]

[I bet on Krookodile!]

[I’m betting on Krookodile too!]

[In that case, I’ll bet on Miltank winning!] A barrage by a user named Exploding Beautiful Girl flashed by.

Meanwhile, in the Johto Region, Goldenrod City.

Whitney watched the battle unfold on the screen, as well as the man on the opposing side, her eyes filled with curiosity.

The opponent was, surprisingly, also a Rancher like her!

”In facing tactics that counter Miltank, what will you do?” Whitney was eagerly anticipating the next moves of the rancher named Naoki.

*

On the ranch, with a whistle blown by Indeedee, the battle officially commenced.

Miltank initiated with Rollout; as the battle began, it curled itself into a round ball and rolled toward Krookodile.

Seeing this scene, John was well-prepared. He pointed and loudly ordered:

”Krookodile, use Dig!”

”Awoo!”

Krookodile howled at the sky, then bent down, using its sharp claws to rapidly dig into the ground. As dirt splattered about, a large hole quickly appeared, and Krookodile promptly burrowed inside.

The next second, Miltank charged toward that direction.

[Oh no! Miltank is about to fall into the hole!]

[If that happens, Miltank won’t be able to use Rollout anymore, right? Looks like Miltank’s moves are easy to counter?]

Just as everyone expected Miltank to fall into the hole, Miltank suddenly changed direction, spinning rapidly like a top around the edge of the hole that Krookodile had dug.

!!!

Upon seeing this, John’s eyes widened in shock.

How could this be?!

The audience in the streaming room collectively sent a question mark.

Initially, they felt indifferent to Miltank’s Rollout, thinking it’s no big deal and easy to counter.

But upon witnessing Miltank’s Rollout firsthand, they only then realized the extent of Miltank’s mastery over this move!

360-degree flawless Super Rollout...

Oh my, how does that Miltank do it?!

John, stunned, was unable to issue the next command promptly.

Underground, Krookodile found itself uncertain about what to do.

Without hearing the Trainer’s voice, it was unclear if it should surface now for a surprise attack.

”Miltank, pay attention to the ground,” Naoki calmly stated.

While Krookodile was hiding underground, Miltank’s Rollout couldn’t reach it, but it could determine Krookodile’s position by observing the bumps in the ground!
