Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 139: Chapter 138: A Reason to Go Home

Early the next morning, Lin Chu received a message from his dad. He said the lychees from their hometown mountain had ripened and that he had mailed ten *jin* over. He’d also sent two free-range chickens, already butchered and chilled.

Oh boy.

This...

Lin Chu was left speechless and a bit conflicted.

’Dad does care about me after all. He never sent anything before.’

’Now that I’m giving him 50,000 a month for living expenses, plus Maotai and Chunghwa cigarettes, my treatment has sure improved. What a dear old dad.’

But the source of Lin Chu’s conflict was that lychees don’t keep. They’d be inedible in a few days. The chickens wouldn’t taste good if they sat for too long either.

The lychees from their hometown mountain were a late-ripening variety. They were a type of Hanging Green, but slightly different from the common kind, with a local flair. They weren’t cloyingly sweet; instead, they had a touch more tartness that made them even more refreshing. Just thinking about them made his mouth water.

The free-range chickens were good stuff, too—a delicacy from the depths of his memory. They were definitely raised on the mountain, eating bugs and grass, never touching a bit of commercial feed. They were so unbelievably tender, fresh, and fragrant. If you made White Cut Chicken with them, even a fancy restaurant couldn’t replicate that flavor.

The items themselves weren’t terribly expensive—four figures at most.

But this was the first time his dad had ever sent him food from home. Was he just going to let it rot?

That didn’t seem like something a decent human being would do.

What a waste.

And it would be a betrayal of his father’s good intentions.

It was only at times like this that Lin Chu felt if he had a wife at home, there’d be someone to receive these things. At least they’d end up in his own family’s stomachs and not go to waste.

But a man can’t just get married for a reason like that, can he?

It was too absurd.

’So who should I send them to?’

Lin Chu mulled it over. He didn’t really want to send them to any of the women. If they traced the shipping address and phone number and started showing up at his dad’s place, dammit, that would be a total nightmare. He’d never have a moment’s peace again.

Pengzi?

That didn’t seem right either.

It seemed this gesture was something he had to accept himself.

”Brothers, I’m heading back today. You guys keep having fun. Something urgent came up at home.”

After thinking it over, Lin Chu sent a message to the group chat. He had made his decision: he was going home!

His message immediately stirred up a storm.

They had actually been there for eleven days, so it was about time to head back anyway. But there were still four days left on their original schedule, so Lin Chu’s sudden departure caught everyone off guard.

The worst thing on a trip is having an emergency that forces you to go back early. It’s a huge hassle that messes up all the plans.

”What’s the emergency, Brother Chu?”

Li Kai asked in the group chat.

Lin Chu thought for a moment, then typed: ”My dad said he’s giving me 300 million, but I have to go back and sign for it. For every day I’m late, he’s docking 100 million.”

The group chat: ...

”HISS... What a dad! Bro, does our dad need another son?”

”Nah, does grandpa need another grandson?”

”Big brother, take me back to meet daddy! I’m your long-lost sister!”

”Brother Chu, even though I call you ’bro,’ I gotta say, I’ve got my eye on our dad. (doge) From now on, I’ll call you bro, and you can call me mom. Or stepmom, that works too.”

...

The whole group immediately erupted into chaos. They were all a bunch of shameless degenerates; not a single decent person among them!

Lin Chu glanced at the chat, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

”Stop fucking around! You guys keep having fun, I’m heading back. The charter plane is already booked, so you can still take that. I’ll just catch a commercial flight.”

Lin Chu added.

’Pulling off that flex felt pretty damn refreshing.’

’Besides, if the guys really ask where the money for the land comes from later, I’ll have an explanation ready.’

Having made up his mind, Lin Chu began to prepare for his return journey.

Soon, Lin Chu received a message from Liang Jieyu: ”Big brother, can I go back with you? Back to Peng City.”

”Sure, send me your ID number. I’ll buy the tickets.”

She had served him well these past few days, and Lin Chu was quite fond of her. A top-tier stunner in bed who also had both a high IQ and EQ, and was gentle, obedient, and sensible on top of it all—she was definitely a keeper.

’Watching her dance for me now and then would be a wonderful pleasure.’

”Okay, love you, mwah.”

She quickly sent a photo of her ID card.

A short while later, as Lin Chu had expected, Lin Xiwan also sent a message: ”Big brother, I want to go back too. My diving mission is successfully complete, time to head home.”

Lin Chu thought for a moment and agreed, telling her to send her ID as well.

Tsk...

’Add Gu Jiayan to the mix, and damn... three women are a drama.’

’I really must enjoy testing my own weak spots.’

But after all these days, Lin Chu was fairly confident. They wouldn’t be able to cause a scene; they wouldn’t dare. They all knew his temper. Whoever starts trouble gets kicked out.

’When you hold the purse strings, you can be tough about anything.’

...

Including Gao Haitao, the five of them took a plane first to Manila, then to Xiangjiang, and then back to Peng City. The journey was smooth and uneventful.

They left Bohe Island in the morning and arrived at Peng City Bay Port a little after four in the afternoon.

It was mainly because the distance was short. Even without a chartered or private jet, and with one transfer, the scheduled flights were still quite fast.

As the plane landed, Lin Chu was still mulling over the trip when he was suddenly struck by a sense of melancholy.

People are like that.

When you’re there for a while, you start to feel bored.

But once you’re back, you instantly feel like you’ve re-entered the mortal world, returning to work and daily life.

He did a rough calculation. All in all, this trip had netted him a profit of nearly fifty million: a double rebate of about ten million for the chartered plane, and a rebate of around thirty million on the money he’d gifted his company’s streamers. On top of that, he still had to buy the island, and he figured the various fees for that would come to around twenty million.

Thinking it over, Lin Chu was delighted.

It wasn’t entirely about the money. The main thing was that this kind of life was just so fucking carefree.

Making money while on vacation—where else could you find a deal like that?

”Hey? That guy selling bananas, did you guys keep an eye on him afterward?”

Once in the Mercedes-Benz, Lin Chu, having finished his mental accounting, remembered this matter and asked Gao Haitao with a smile.

While they were there, who could be bothered to deal with him?

But now that they were back, after taking stock of everything, this little loose end was still nagging at his curiosity.

Gao Haitao was slightly taken aback, but quickly replied, ”We tailed him for another day. The kid went from selling bananas to driving a tuk-tuk, picking up fares. I figured he wasn’t a threat, and that driving a tuk-tuk would just make it easier for him to escape if he was spotted, so I didn’t pay him any more mind.”

Lin Chu thought for a moment. ”Have your guys keep an eye out for him over the next couple of days. I want him caught. Catch him and interrogate him. Satisfy my curiosity.”

”You have to see things through to the end.”

”And if he turns out to be some wanted fugitive, we can consider it a contribution to the country.”

Hearing this, Gao Haitao couldn’t help but chuckle. ”Alright, I’ll tell them. He’ll be easy to catch. A petty thief like him, we’ll get him for sure.”

At that moment, he suddenly felt that President Lin’s way of doing things was truly... rigorous.

While they were there, he didn’t make any unnecessary moves. He could even suppress his curiosity so as not to affect the vacation experience or create extra trouble.

But now that they were back, he was taking action immediately, not willing to wait a single moment.

Truly, he was steady, precise, and ruthless!
