Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 125: Chapter 124: As Long as the Money Is Right

Gu Jiayan watched the scene before her, feeling a little happy herself.

Traveling abroad.

’I’ve never even been out of the country before.’

Knowing they were going to the tropics in the summer, she was dressed in denim shorts, white sneakers, a white T-shirt, a baseball cap, a face mask, and sunglasses. She was also pulling Lin Chu’s suitcase.

Their roles as boss and assistant clearly outweighed any considerations of gender.

After all, this was an assistant’s job.

Lin Chu had handed over all the planning and coordination to her, making her the de facto tour guide and overall manager for this trip.

To that end, Gu Jiayan’s preparations had been meticulous.

She was already putting her plans into action.

”Alright, everyone, gather ’round for a roll call. Let me repeat myself: discipline is key, discipline is key. We’re not at home anymore, after all. We’re here to have fun, but safety comes first.”

In the private VIP lounge they had booked at the airport, she was bustling about with various tasks.

Meanwhile, Lin Chu, Lu Ming, Li Kai, and Liu Junfeng were sitting off to the side, smoking and chatting.

”This assistant of yours is pretty good, she’s got a strong presence. Brother Chu, what have you been busy with these past two days? Haven’t seen you around at all. Ever since you stopped going to nightclubs, we haven’t even gone for drinks. Feels like we’ve drifted apart a bit.”

Li Kai said with a smile.

He wasn’t actually complaining, just teasing a little. His expression was one of pure satisfaction.

He had already chosen a location for his maid cafe and it was now under renovation. This trip was perfectly timed; by the time he got back, the work would be mostly done.

His girlfriend was overseeing the renovations while he went out to have fun.

This comfortable life he was living now was treating him well; his face even seemed to have gotten a little chubbier.

”I’ve been busy too. Golf, business, a ton of headaches. Brother Feng, how are things on your end?”

Lin Chu replied simply, then casually asked the question.

He and Liu Junfeng hadn’t seen each other since their visit to the orphanage. It wasn’t that Lin Chu was abandoning a friend in need; rather, it seemed Liu Junfeng was the one avoiding everyone. ’His pride was probably hurt,’ Lin Chu thought, ’and he’s off licking his wounds in private.’

Old Liu really had a strong personality. When things were going his way, he was thick-skinned and could even joke about himself in a self-deprecating way without any issue.

But once he hit rock bottom, he became proud and sensitive.

Of course, this was understandable.

He had asked if he needed to borrow money, but Liu Junfeng hadn’t taken him up on it.

’Their Affinity score was what it was.’

’It still wasn’t at 90, so he didn’t even qualify for a ’Friend’ slot yet.’

Given the situation, Lin Chu naturally wouldn’t press the issue.

’Best to just wait for him to recover on his own.’

”It’s alright. The car dealership is completely off my hands now. I’m thinking about my next move. This trip is a good chance to really think it through. Once I have a plan, I’ll probably have to hit up the boss for an investment. Just giving you a heads-up!”

Liu Junfeng lightly placed a hand on Lin Chu’s shoulder and said with a smile.

’He seems much calmer now, not as flamboyant as before,’ Lin Chu mused. ’I guess circumstances really do change a person. People grow up.’

’Before, it felt like he was trying to compete with me for the top spot in our group,’ Lin Chu thought. ’After all, he used to be the big brother in our circle. Now, though, he seems to have given up on that completely.’

”Sure, no problem. Anything under ten million, just ask.”

Lin Chu was feeling rich and confident now. He had over 600 million in his bank account. Although more than half of it was earmarked for buying land, even with 200 million, he could still go wild.

’If it’s a worthy investment, I’ll put some money in.’

Lin Chu’s thinking had also started to shift. ’Investing in a company is really about investing in the person behind it. You spend money to gauge their character. A business failing isn’t the biggest problem; the real issue is if the person themselves is a failure.’

Liu Junfeng also smiled and said, ”Great, then I’ll thank you in advance, Brother Chu.”

Liao Zhibin was also smiling at this point. ”Brother Chu, long time no see! The last time we met was at sea, and here we are again, about to be at sea. We’re fated to meet by the ocean.”

His smile seemed much brighter than last time, tinged with a hint of flattery.

Lin Chu also smiled and nodded. ”Yeah, you could say that. But it’s a good thing. Water means wealth. Let’s all get rich together.”

The men exchanged pleasantries.

Over on the other side, Gu Jiayan had finished the roll call.

The security team had already finished assembling. Thirty ex-servicemen stood there in neat rows, straight as javelins, an impressive and intimidating sight.

Gao Haitao stood at the very front, also emphasizing discipline. President Lin and his friends were going on vacation, but he and his brothers were going on a mission.

Southeast Asia was truly not very peaceful right now; they needed to be careful about everything.

”I still feel like we’re going off to war. Tsk, we should just conquer Bohe Island and you can be a Carefree Island Lord.”

Lu Ming said with a laugh.

An idea sparked in Lin Chu’s mind. He smiled and said, ”Sure, I’ll buy an island, and you can be the Island Lord, Robinson.”

Everyone couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

That nickname was perfect.

Lu Ming scratched his head and chuckled, naturally assuming it was just a joke.

However, Lin Chu secretly made a mental note of it.

’Tsk, getting a change of scenery really gets the ideas flowing,’ he thought. ’I’ve just stumbled upon a new venture.’

’Buying an island... it’s not that big of a deal, really.’

’Time to open my eyes and see what the world has to offer.’

...

”Hello, President Lin. I’m Xiao Fan, the captain for this flight. The airport has notified us that we can take off at 12:30. The arrangement for this flight is that I will take you and your team to Cebu Airport, then we will return. We will come back to pick you up at noon two weeks from now.”

The man who walked over to report to Lin Chu was tall and in his forties, dressed in a pilot’s uniform. He had a very refined air about him.

All of this had already been communicated in writing.

However, he still reiterated it in person to avoid any communication issues.

Lin Chu thought for a moment, then asked casually, ”If I want to go somewhere else midway through the trip, I can still contact you, right? It’s just a matter of getting a new quote. A matter of money.”

’The thought came to me in a flash,’ Lin Chu mused. ’Spending is spending. I get rebates for it anyway.’

’The longer the journey, the more I spend.’

’Besides, I don’t have to limit myself to Bohe Island. If there’s enough time, I’d like to check out other places. That part of Southeast Asia is small anyway. By plane, it’s only a two or three-hour hop between destinations.’

Hm?

Hearing this, Xiao Fan froze for a second. His gaze flickered to Li Kai, then back to Lin Chu. ’Was there a miscommunication?’ he wondered. ’Why is the client changing the plan at the last minute?’

He recovered quickly, however. ”Of course, you can. As long as you have a request, we are at your service anytime. We can fly anywhere in the world.”

’Private jets are for the super-rich, after all,’ he thought. ’As long as there’s enough money, nothing is impossible.’

”Alright, no problem then. Everyone, let’s get ready for takeoff.”

Lin Chu nodded with a smile.

”Brother Chu, where else are you thinking of going?”

Li Kai couldn’t help but ask, a little puzzled.

Lin Chu smiled. ”What if we don’t like the food? We could just hop on the plane and fly to a big city to find something good to eat. How about that?”

Li Kai: ...

The others: ...

’Fine, fine, you win. You’re the rich one, you’re the big boss. Whatever you say, goes.’

Xiao Fan was also at a loss for words, his face frozen in a standard professional smile. ’If the client really makes a request like that,’ he thought, ’it would be a great thing, of course.’

’It’s business, after all.’

’As long as the money’s right, anything is possible.’
