Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1551: Chapter 1535: A Thorny Problem

When the power company worker saw Huo Sining pull out forty thousand yuan in cash and pay the electricity bill on the spot, he was stunned.

Normally, if a family encountered such a situation, they would definitely demand an explanation from the power company and refuse to suffer any loss. Moreover, the thought of paying a bill over thirty thousand yuan would be out of the question.

However, this family’s approach was completely different. The young girl before him showed an attitude of not caring at all.

She didn’t even want to get to the bottom of the reason. She simply paid off the overdue bill of over thirty thousand yuan, with her only request being the prompt resumption of electricity to her home.

The electrician, seeing how young Huo Sining was and how she had been taken advantage of, couldn’t help but feel it was unfair for her and hastily advised:

”Young lady, this is not a small amount of money. There’s no need to rush. Let me call the office first and get your power restored. You don’t need to pay right away. If we report this, we might have a resolution in less than a week, and they might waive the fee for you.”

Huo Sining knew very well that this situation was caused by that Blue Fatty; there was no one else to blame, and there was no fault in her house. Therefore, she could not let the power company absorb the cost:

”Thank you for your kindness, sir, but I find it too troublesome. Such things are too taxing. It’s just over thirty thousand yuan. If I pay it, I pay it. As long as the problem gets solved quickly, that’s all that matters.”

Her casual attitude about money left the electrician momentarily speechless. He looked up at her as if she were crazy, said no more, took the money, handed her a receipt, and turned to leave.

Seeing the electrician’s expression, Huo Sining didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

It wasn’t that she wanted to act like a tycoon, but she really couldn’t explain the predicament.

Not long after she entered the house, the electricity was indeed restored. At the moment when the lights came back on, Qibao cheerfully ran upstairs, Auntie Li joyfully headed to the kitchen to start organizing dinner, while Huo Sining had a worried look on her face.

The egg was something she had released, but now Huo Sining found it particularly troublesome because she really didn’t know how to deal with it.

Clearly, while it had intelligence and awareness, it lacked the intellect of a human, and there was no way to communicate. It acted entirely on whims, and once out of control, it could become a major disaster.

Reflecting on how this Blue Fatty, in just a day and a night, had charged around like a firecracker, turning her home into a complete mess, thinking of what she saw in the kitchen, living room, and basement this morning exhausted her. For a moment, she had no idea what to do with it.

She didn’t know how Jiaoren hatched. Her knowledge in this area was minimal, practically nonexistent, or she wouldn’t have recklessly released the troublemaker.

But now that it had come to this, it was too late for regrets. The urgent task was to figure out how to deal with the egg properly.

Huo Sining first thought of consulting Su Lan and Yan Feng, but to her chagrin, when she called them, the response was that they were out of the service area.

This ”out of service area” was different from the situation when Tang Jun called Gao Yuyuan. Gao Yuyuan likely removed his phone battery on purpose to appear out of service to avoid Tang Jun;

whereas Su Lan and Yan Feng truly were out of service. The last time she hurriedly met them was back in Las Vegas, and afterward, they vanished into the vast desert, becoming unreachable.

It seemed like they disappeared into the Las Vegas wilderness, and there had been no news of them since then.

Unable to reach Su Lan and Yan Feng, Huo Sining had to figure things out on her own.

Though she wasn’t sure if storing a living thing in a Storage Space would have any effect, clearly, the egg had a Thunder Attribute. Logically, for it to hatch, it needed to absorb a large amount of electricity. If it remained inside the storage ring, it wouldn’t cause trouble, but time would stand still, and the chance of hatching would be zero.

So the immediate task was to charge it, allowing it to absorb a lot of energy. But where would this energy come from?

After racking her brains, Huo Sining couldn’t come up with any brilliant solutions.

It was still spring, and there were too few stormy nights with thunder and lightning. Relying on nature was too improbable and unreliable.

If she let it continue drawing power from the power grid, Huo Sining worried. The Blue Fatty’s belly seemed like a bottomless pit, consuming eighty thousand kilowatt-hours in just five minutes. Given its appetite, to truly satisfy it, feeding it hundreds of thousands or even millions of kilowatt-hours of electricity might be possible.

If she consumed so much electricity at home, the power company would likely investigate within a day;

and if she stole power outside, not considering whether it was illegal, ultimately the cost would fall on someone, which was undesirable, and she didn’t wish to incur such a sin, thus rejecting this option outright.

She couldn’t rely on the heavens, and spending money risked raising suspicion, which left her particularly conflicted.

At this moment, Qibao ran down from upstairs, looking downcast.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but ask, ”What’s wrong?”

Qibao pouted, ”The TV in my room was smashed by that egg, so I can’t watch cartoons anymore.”

Huo Sining laughed, ”Then let’s pick a new one at the mall this weekend. I’m sorry, I didn’t know the egg was so destructive.”

Qibao shook his head, ”It’s not sister’s fault, no one knew it was so fierce.”

Huo Sining instinctively patted the little one’s head, and Qibao nestled comfortably in her arms, suddenly thought of something, and asked softly, ”Sister, when can we go to the sea again?”

Huo Sining was surprised, ”Why, Qibao wants to go to the sea again?”

Qibao nodded, ”I miss A Yin. I don’t know when that egg will hatch, and it’s so fierce. Even if it hatches, it probably won’t play with me, so I’d rather play with A Yin. A Yin is very obedient and can take me swimming in the sea.”

A Yin was the dolphin, a name given by Qibao. Hearing Qibao’s innocent words, Huo Sining couldn’t help but miss that little guy too.
