Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1564: Chapter 1548: Bagua Cipher

Seeing the suspicion flash in the eyes of both Miss Yue and Mr. Huang, Huo Sining didn’t dwell on it too much. She hurriedly nodded and said:

”Okay, we’ll cooperate! I just hope that once we’re inside the mountain, Mr. Huang and Miss Yue will keep their promises and lend a hand, putting in extra effort when we capture the Oil Rat and Gao Yuyuan.”

Upon hearing this, Mr. Huang grinned and said, ”Miss Huo, you can rest assured about that. As long as you are trustworthy, we will not go back on our word!”

Huo Sining nodded, curiously asking, ”Did you see how the Oil Rat and his companions got in?”

Mr. Huang shook his head, ”They brought two mercenaries. Those two were quite skilled, especially sharp in their reconnaissance, so we didn’t dare get too close. We only saw them standing by the rock wall for several minutes, then they all vanished. So I guessed there must be a mechanism here and was about to check it out when you showed up.”

As Mr. Huang spoke, he looked at the rotating wheel on the stone wall. After staring at it carefully for a few minutes, he couldn’t help but smile and said:

”So that’s how it is, so that’s how it is. Haha, the person who created this mechanism is truly a clever one!”

”Mr. Huang, you’ve figured it out?”

Mr. Huang nodded, ”The Bagua is not that mysterious. The Bagua has three lines; Qian represents Heaven, Kun represents Earth, Zhen represents Thunder, Xun represents Wind, Gen represents Mountain, Dui represents Marsh, Kan represents Water, and Li represents Fire. Altogether they’re called the primary trigrams. The sixty-four hexagrams are formed by combining two of the eight primary trigrams, similar to how we work with the binary code in modern computers. The Bagua is the ancient ancestor of binary code.”

”Binary code?” Everyone asked in unison, finding it incredulous. To them, binary code seemed like an advanced computing method. How could it be related to the Bagua?

Mr. Huang nodded, ”The person who made this mechanism carved it onto the central Taiji Rotating Wheel of the stone wall, and the code is hidden in the surrounding Bagua Chart. This Bagua Chart is essentially a string of numbers, much like the numerical code we use to open a safe. This Bagua Chart is the key to unlocking this Taiji Rotating Wheel.”

Huo Sining and the others looked at Mr. Huang with skeptical eyes.

”This Fuxi Bagua carved on the stone wall emphasizes the contrast of Yin and Yang, dividing the eight Bagua symbols of Heaven, Earth, Wind, Thunder, Mountain, Marsh, Water, and Fire into four groups. According to the drawing on this Bagua Chart, starting from the Kun trigram on the left, we begin from the north, representing a series of numbers. Now, look here, the half-circle of Yin lines represents night after the sun has set, indicating the west, which is equivalent to another series of numbers.”

As Mr. Huang explained, he began to manipulate the Taiji Rotating Wheel on the stone wall, ”The third number should be here, the half-circle of Yang lines represent the latter half of the lunar month when the moon rises in the east.”

”It’s like how we usually use birthdates to set passwords. The person who designed this mechanism had the same hobby, using the Bagua Chart to design the code based on the cycle of years, months, and days.”

”And the fourth position?”

Huo Sining, not fully understanding, instinctively pointed to the last position, indicating the southern location.

”Huh?” After setting the numbers for the first three positions, Mr. Huang’s gaze fell on the fourth position. But soon, his hand stopped, his expression changed slightly, and there was a hint of surprise and confusion in his eyes.

Mr. Huang’s brows knitted together almost subconsciously, ”This position seems completely different from the previous three, and this trigram is a bit strange.”

”What’s strange about it?” Huo Sining couldn’t see any difference.

Mr. Huang smiled wryly, ”I might have gotten it wrong. The trigram for this fourth position calculates to 0, but if it’s 0, it represents nothingness, which cannot produce a correct number on the wheel, meaning it’s empty. This is too strange.”

”0?”

Huo Sining and the others were stunned, instinctively staring at that Black and White Taiji Wheel.

Mr. Huang nodded, seemingly a bit embarrassed, ”It seems I’ve underestimated the complexity of this Bagua mechanism.”

Miss Yue asked, ”Could it just be an empty slot, a setup to confuse people deliberately?”

Upon hearing this, Mr. Huang’s eyes lit up, ”You might be right. Let’s give it a try.”

With that, Mr. Huang extended his hand, hesitated for a moment, then directly pressed the Yin and Yang symbol in the center of the Taiji Bagua Wheel.

After pressing it, he quickly pulled the others back, retreating four or five meters away from the mechanism disk, cautiously watching it.

At the moment Mr. Huang pressed the Taiji Yin and Yang symbol, the black and white Yin and Yang poles began to spin rapidly, while the wheel quickly recessed. After about half a minute, a stone panel suddenly emerged from within.

In the center of that stone panel, a recessed round hole, about the size of a ping pong ball, appeared in front of everyone.

After the stone panel protruded, the entire stone wall became still again.

Everyone looked at each other, their first thought being, did they decipher the Bagua Chart incorrectly?

They all looked at Mr. Huang with suspicion, and Mr. Huang himself felt embarrassed, awkwardly scratching his nose.

However, he too was puzzled. He had decoded Bagua Charts many times, and his deductions should have been correct. So why did this happen? Could it be that this entire thing was just a decoy set up by the creator of the mechanism to toy with people?

The others looked at Mr. Huang dismissively, except for Huo Sining, whose eyes remained fixed on the round hole.

The size and dimensions of this hole, why does it seem a bit like...

”Wait!”

Seeing this recessed round hole, a thought suddenly flashed in Huo Sining’s mind. In a moment of inspiration, she turned around and reached into her backpack (which was actually a storage ring), rummaging until she pulled out a round, smooth green bead.

Seeing that bead, Miss Yue’s face changed dramatically, but Huo Sining was entirely focused on the mechanism on the stone wall and didn’t notice the change in Miss Yue’s expression.

After taking out the bead, Huo Sining carefully placed it into the stone panel.

Sure enough, the bead fit perfectly into the recessed round hole on the stone panel, without leaving any gaps!

”Mr. Huang didn’t make a mistake, the code for the fourth position is indeed a 0, which in this case means something round, not a number, but this item!”

A knowing smile appeared on Huo Sining’s lips.

As her hand moved away from the stone panel, the entire stone wall began to slide up, down, left, and right. In less than ten seconds, a stone door just big enough for one person to pass through opened on the stone wall, revealing a dark passageway inside the mountain!
