Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1543: Chapter 1527: New Clues

Tang Jun’s face didn’t look too good as he shook his head and said:

”No, this person is from the Changnan area, quite influential in the Porcelain Capital. I went there to acquire goods with a friend and happened to compete with this guy named Gao over the same General’s Large Jar, almost got into a fight.”

”But sometimes you only get to know someone after a fight, you know. Later on, we gradually got to know each other. This guy took me to a few places to get some good stuff, so I thought he was reliable. Who would’ve thought he’d be a fraud!”

Huo Sining wasn’t interested in how Tang Jun knew this Gao Yuyuan, but when she heard Tang Jun mention that he was from the Changnan Porcelain Capital region, something clicked in her mind. She remembered a key piece of information from when she had gone there with the Oil Rat to find Old Mr. Zhong, told to her by that fake-aging Elder Feng.

Huo Sining’s eyes immediately lit up. She suddenly grabbed Tang Jun’s arm and asked anxiously:

”Does this Gao Yuyuan usually wear a pair of gold-rimmed glasses and is known as Mr. Gao in the Changnan area?”

Tang Jun was stunned, his eyes filled with surprise: ”Yeah, Miss Huo, you know him too?”

With a confirmation, Huo Sining became excited. She looked at Tang Jun and shook her head, saying:

”I don’t know him, but we’ve also been investigating him lately. One thing is for sure: your suspicion is correct. From our investigations, this Mr. Gao is closely linked to Zhong Fang. So clearly, it was a setup, and you’ve been scammed out of three million.”

Hearing this from Huo Sining, Tang Jun’s face turned completely dark.

Huo Sining, however, was a bit excited. She had been assisting Zhou Shitao in the investigation of Zhong Fang for a while now without much progress. Zhou Shitao was anxious, and so was she. Even after several calls to Elder Feng, they couldn’t find any information on this Gao. Unexpectedly, Tang Jun provided the clue.

”Boss Tang, if you want to recover your three million losses, I hope you can do us a favor and help us lure out that Gao Yuyuan. What do you think?”

Tang Jun’s expression turned bitter: ”It’s not that I don’t want to help, but I really think I was played. That Gao guy told me he was going to Xiangxi after bringing me back from Gan-Shaanxi, and said he’d go into the mountains.”

”In our line of work, we often travel to remote areas, so I didn’t suspect a thing. After we parted ways, his phone went out of reach, always out of service.”

”I just thought he had really gone to Shanxi at the time, didn’t think much of it. Now it seems, his story about going to Xiangxi was probably just a decoy. He anticipated I’d find out the coins were fake and suspect him, so he cleared out early, even making his phone unreachable.”

As he spoke, Tang Jun feared Huo Sining wouldn’t believe him, so he took out his phone to show her: ”Look, this is Gao’s number. I’ll dial it for you again.”

Sure enough, Gao Yuyuan’s name was in the contacts. Tang Jun dialed the number and put it on speaker. After a few seconds, a cold female voice said: The number you have dialed is not in the service area, please try again later.

This was completely unexpected for Huo Sining. Her face froze, and she looked at Zhuang Xiangyang. Still unwilling to give up, she quickly called Zhou Shitao, miles away in the Imperial Capital, explained the situation, and awaited Zhou’s next step.

”It seems this Gao Yuyuan must be the same Mr. Gao that Elder Feng mentioned earlier. Both Zhong Fang’s pieces are through him. Looks like this person might have direct connections with Zhong Fang. This is a major lead, definitely not one to be overlooked!”

Zhou Shitao paused for a few seconds, then suddenly said.

Huo Sining was a bit frustrated: ”But his phone number is completely unreachable.”

Zhou Shitao laughed: ”Isn’t it out of the service area? That’s simple; phones have GPS tracking. I’ll have someone trace it based on the number; we’ll pinpoint his last few call locations. Plus, we can find his ID using his name and appearance, and investigate further. We’ll definitely uncover something that way.”

Huo Sining was somewhat puzzled: ”Is that possible?”

”Of course it is. How do you think police solve cases – just by relying on surveillance cameras?”

Zhou Shitao couldn’t help but chuckle at seeing Huo Sining’s confusion, ”Alright, I’ll handle this. Tell Boss Tang who provided the lead that someone would contact him later to inquire about the situation. He should cooperate and provide detailed information on this Gao Yuyuan.”

Huo Sining nodded: ”Sure, I’ll let him know.”

No one expected the two National Treasure Jin Kui Zhi Wan coins to unravel such a big case. Tang Jun seemed shocked and a bit at a loss.

Huo Sining understood that ordinary people rarely interact with the police. Seeing Tang Jun dazed, she quickly reassured him:

”Boss Tang, don’t worry. When they come, just tell them the truth. You don’t have to bear too much burden. Once they catch Gao Yuyuan, the police will surely recover your losses.”

Recalling his three-million-dollar loss, Tang Jun snapped back to reality, his face dark with anger, gritting his teeth against Gao Yuyuan:

”Right, we can’t let him get away with it. That damned fraudster, going to such lengths to set me up, even pretending to be a friend. Pfft, who’d want to be friends with someone like that, unless you’re blind!”

Although they couldn’t lure Gao out, it was clear from Zhou Shitao’s tone that he wouldn’t escape. Huo Sining felt a lot better. After leaving Tang Jun’s mansion, she didn’t hold back – giving Zhuang Xiangyang and Xie Daoyuan a ride back to the villa, not leaving Liao Song and Zhong Zifan behind either.

Zhuang Xiangyang requested to try her homemade tea and wine, so after returning home, Huo Sining brought them out.

In fact, the tea and wine were made using ordinary methods that Huo Sining learned from online tutorials. However, the special thing was she infused a fair amount of spiritual energy into each material during processing. This spiritual energy enhanced the aroma and purity of the tea and wine by several levels, making the finished products naturally much higher grade than those sold outside.
