Reborn As Super Heiress

Capítulo 1521: Chapter 1505: Can’t Handle Losing?

After seeing Huo Sining and Zhou Yan finish their transaction and glance over here, the expressions of those Tengchong jade raw material traders subtly changed.

Huo Sining wore a faint, sardonic smile. She still had another piece of raw material left to be processed, but she needed to settle the matter with this Flower Green Species first.

This Ocean Blue Fluorite Type was called out at a high price of 1.1 million by Zhou Yan. According to the rules of these Tengchong jade traders, they have to pay an extra amount equivalent to the value of the processed jadeite. This meant they would need to compensate another 1.1 million to Huo Sining, resulting in her earning 2.2 million from just one piece of Flower Green Species.

The merchants had only made about a million altogether from setting up their stall over the past few days on Antique Street, and now they had to give it all to Huo Sining. How could these raw material traders be willing?

The traders exchanged glances and soon one representative stepped forward. The leading trader awkwardly looked at Huo Sining and, with a somewhat unnatural tone, asked, “Miss Huo, could we speak to you in private?”

Zhao Lijun, who had been slighted by these Tengchong traders in the past and been openly and covertly mocked, felt uneasy seeing them now lowering themselves to speak to Huo Sining, and immediately raised his voice asking:

“The value of this raw material increase is quite obvious, what’s there to talk about? Didn’t you set the rules and sign an agreement? Just follow the agreement, wouldn’t that be fine? Besides, why can’t you say what you have to in front of everyone? Do you think Miss Huo is easy to bully just because she’s young?”

Following Zhao Lijun’s words, others began to shout in support of Huo Sining.

These people had lost quite a bit betting in this courtyard over the past few days, and the arrogant attitude of the Tengchong traders had long irked them. Now, given a chance to regain some ground, they all felt reinvigorated, united against the traders, glaring at them angrily with a sense of shared purpose.

The traders were disheartened but dared not vent their anger, instead casting looks at Huo Sining.

Even Huo Sining inwardly shook her head. Judging by the response of these people around her, they had indeed deeply offended the guests here, or else they wouldn’t have incited such collective disdain.

But in business, since a contract had been signed, there was no room for sentimentality. Huo Sining knew exactly what game these traders were playing, so she didn’t accede to their demands. Instead, she chuckled softly and said:

“Boss, if you have something to say, say it here. Everyone’s listening.”

The trader’s expression froze at Huo Sining’s words. After some hesitation, he gritted his teeth and said:

“Miss Huo, according to our estimates, the Flower Green Species jadeite you just processed is actually worth eighty thousand on the market; thus, based on our agreement, we can only give you an eighty thousand reward.”

Before the words were finished, there was an uproar among the crowd.

Before setting up the table, to convince the stone gambling enthusiasts to trust the rules and lure them in, these traders specially set aside three million in cash as an incentive, which was precisely why the enthusiasts flocked to gamble.

But now, these people were breaking the rules over thirty thousand. How could those present not be enraged?

The onlookers at that moment erupted with indignation, condemning the traders as unethical, scolding them for being dishonest and shameless. Some shouted for the traders to leave the cash and get out of Magic Capital, while others even picked up their phones, getting ready to call the police to report fraud.

The jade trader’s face turned a blotchy mix of blue and white at their reactions, and he persisted with a hardened tone:

“Miss Huo, we haven’t violated the terms of the agreement. An eighty thousand appraisal aligns with the market price. If you insist on making a scene, I guess we’ll see you in court. I assume, as a public figure, you wouldn’t want your reputation blemished over a trivial matter, right?”

Those words silenced the noisy crowd. Huo Sining was indeed different from the gawkers—she was a public figure; every move she made was highly impactful. If this escalated and someone exploited it, it could cause significant trouble for her.

While others held back, the merchant’s threatening tone truly angered Huo Sining.

She could empathize with the merchants’ reluctance to lose money once they profited, clearly unable to face losing. Huo Sining considered negotiating further, and if they were reasonable, she might not press for the extra thirty thousand. However, now they tried to brush her off with a low price, causing her a loss of thirty thousand, and even had the nerve to threaten her first.

Originally, Huo Sining wasn’t focused on making millions; she simply wanted to teach these traders a lesson before leaving. She hadn’t considered processing her remaining Lemon Orange, aware of its value. If they followed the rules, the traders might not be able to afford compensation even by selling everything.

Yet the croupier trader’s words completely ignited her inner fire; she looked coldly at the trader, squinting her eyes, and slowly asked, “So, are you deciding to only pay eighty thousand today?”

The trader found himself caught between a rock and a hard place but ultimately, driven by financial interests, ruthlessly insisted:

“Miss Huo, among insiders, the real value of this Ocean Blue species is around eighty thousand market-wise. Regarding Mr. Zhou’s premium purchase, it’s outside our policy considerations and thus not accounted for.”

Inside, Huo Sining laughed coldly. When she signed the agreement, not a word about pricing exceptions was mentioned. Now, they utilized loopholes, unwilling to take a loss, trying to reduce compensation and justifying it grandiosely.

“Damn disgusting, if you can’t afford to lose, don’t play. Why set up the stall?”

“Exactly. So this is what you Tengchong people are like? Clearly specify the terms when signing the agreement. What’s the point of this now?”

“Absolutely shameless, this so-called stall isn’t worth running; it’s a fraud using junk materials to scam money!”

Upon hearing the trader’s explanation, the surrounding people’s faces changed, displaying intense anger and indignation, as if they personally uncovered that Flower Green Species and were cheated out of thirty thousand by the traders.
