Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1512: Chapter 1496: Challenging the Arena?

After the New Year, the date for the wedding banquet was set. The Gu Family specifically consulted a high monk to choose a date, picking a very auspicious day three months later, and started busily preparing for the wedding banquet.

Huo Sining, however, had other plans in mind. If possible, she hoped Mr. Liang and Su Lan could attend her wedding. Mr. Liang was her biological father, and Su Lan was Wei Yang’s brother. She had her current opportunities because of Wei Yang’s spirit, so she had already regarded Su Lan as her brother.

However, since leaving Las Vegas, there had been no news from Su Lan, not even Yan Feng could reach him. These two were always elusive, and Huo Sining didn’t know what they were up to.

As for Mr. Liang, there was even less to say. This father of hers had always preferred to stay hidden over the years, and now that something strange had happened to him, Huo Sining had no idea where he was. She couldn’t reach him by phone and he didn’t reply to messages, so she could only wait it out.

After spending some time in the Imperial Capital, Huo Sining returned to the Magic Capital after the Lantern Festival.

Now she was officially Mrs. Gu. Although the wedding banquet hadn’t been held, her status was indeed different. Upon returning to the Magic Capital, she didn’t shy away from these matters and wore her ring openly, clearly indicating her current marital status.

Even on Weibo, she openly posted her marriage certificate and rings. Despite receiving some criticism because of her student status, most people still sent their blessings to her and Gu Xu.

Since Huo Sining was a public figure now, she didn’t plan on hiding these things. As for the criticisms, she just ignored them.

Now that she was twenty, love and marriage were her freedoms. Those moralists’ criticisms didn’t hold water, and she felt no guilt.

Shortly after the semester started, Huo Sining began handling matters related to the Beauty Fund. She hoped to settle these things before her wedding banquet because she and Gu Xu had agreed that after the banquet, they would go on their honeymoon, for which she already had plans.

However, with her growing fame, trouble often came uninvited. Huo Sining was now renowned both domestically and internationally, inevitably drawing some troublemakers.

Like today, right after class, before she even left the campus, she received a phone call.

”Big Brother Liao, what’s up?”

The call was from Liao Song. Since Huo Sining returned from Min City last time, she hadn’t met Liao Song and Zhong Zifan again. They only occasionally contacted each other by phone.

”Miss Huo, do you have time today?” Liao Song’s tone on the other end of the line sounded somewhat strange.

Although Huo Sining was busy, she still had some spare time. Moreover, since Liao Song was calling her actively, she guessed there might be something going on.

”I have time. Big Brother Liao, have you returned to the Magic Capital? Anything up?”

Liao Song hesitated for a second before saying, ”Yes, there’s a bit of something. Zhong Zifan and I are over at the Antique Street. If you have time, come join us here.”

After checking the time, Huo Sining hurriedly replied, ”Alright, I just finished class, I’ll get my car and come over directly. I should be there in about half an hour.”

When she drove to the spot Liao Song mentioned on Antique Street, she saw a large courtyard. At that moment, over a hundred people were gathered inside, including Liao Song and Zhong Zifan. Among the crowd, Huo Sining also spotted Su Qingqing’s ex-boyfriend Zhou Zhen and Zhou Mei, and even Yin Zeyan and Zhou Yan were there.

The Zhou Family’s jewelry company had fallen out of favor with several major jewel suppliers last year, facing exclusion and resistance, leading to declining business.

Due to Zhou Zhen’s plot against Su Group’s Donghua the year before, on top of Zhou Zhen cheating and breaking off his engagement while slandering his own sister, Su Jinyuan had a deep hatred for the Zhou Family, wanting to take them down himself. However, he hadn’t expected them to self-destruct without him lifting a finger.

Su Jinyuan wanted to press on, but Su Zhenhua feared pushing too hard would corner the Zhou Family, making them desperate and causing unpredictable actions.

Given the Zhou Family’s current state, there was no need to worry further. As the jewelry industry evolved quickly, with many new prestigious companies emerging each year, the Zhou Family’s chances of a comeback seemed very slim.

Due to this, Su Jinyuan no longer paid attention to them.

Huo Sining hadn’t focused much on the Zhou Family and never expected to encounter these people here again. Her impression of individuals like Zhou Zhen and Zhou Mei wasn’t good, so even when meeting them, she didn’t plan to greet them.

Once inside the courtyard, Huo Sining looked around.

Placed in the yard were two stone cutting machines. Seeing them, Huo Sining immediately guessed what was going on. Just then, Liao Song spotted her and came over with a smile, while Zhong Zifan also appeared quite excited.

”Big Brother Liao, what’s happening?” Huo Sining asked curiously.

Liao Song awkwardly rubbed his hands, exchanged a glance with Zhong Zifan, and then explained:

”You probably haven’t heard. Several rough stone traders from Tengchong rented this largest warehouse courtyard on Antique Street, claiming to set up a stone gambling contest here, inviting enthusiasts from the Magic Capital to participate.”

Huo Sining was taken aback: ”A contest?”

Zhong Zifan nodded: ”Actually, both Liao Song and I just returned to the Magic Capital. We originally planned to meet a friend and see a new treasure he had acquired at his shop, but then we heard about this lively event and decided to check it out first.”

Looking at those eager contenders in the courtyard, Huo Sining instinctively frowned: ”Are these people here for the contest?”

”Indeed, I hear they’ve been hosting this event for several days already, with hundreds participating daily, yet no one can beat them. These Tengchong traders are indeed arrogant, declaring that Magic Capital’s stone gambling circle is full of losers. Isn’t this a blatant provocation?”

”Exactly, these Tengchong merchants are just taking advantage of us having no one here, daring to be so brazen. They have guts like tigers and leopards, totally not respecting us Magic Capital people!”

Huo Sining, upon hearing this, looked at Liao Song with a half-smile: ”So, you called me over for this?”

The expression on Liao Song’s face froze, then he awkwardly smiled: ”Hehe, I just like to stand against injustice. Others may not handle this, but with you on our side, Miss Huo, dealing with these Tengchong people is no more than a piece of cake, right?”
