Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1528: Chapter 1512: Anti-Counterfeit Promotion

Liao Song’s friend opened an antique shop on Antique Street. After lunch, the group of three headed to this shop.

This was a large antique shop, with a storefront twice the size of Xianyu Shop, and it had two floors. Such a shop was considered one of the top old stores in the Magic Capital’s Antique Street area.

From afar, they could see the name of the shop, ”Dexin Society,” which implied a balance of virtue and artistry.

Huo Sining had visited Antique Street many times, but usually, she was scavenging through flea market stalls, and her visits to such big stores were few and far between.

It’s not that the items in these stores were bad, but because these established shops often hired experienced insiders with full appraisal skills as stewards.

With such individuals managing the inventory, the authenticity rate of items in the store was generally over eighty or ninety percent, but finding a bargain in such stores was almost impossible.

Huo Sining was used to finding bargains; she felt that only in this way could she experience the excitement and thrill of treasure hunting, so she generally stayed away from such established shops.

Noticing her staring at the shop sign, Liao Song smiled and explained, ”This Dexin Society is a heritage of a friend’s family and has been a well-known brand for decades, but it’s still a few levels below Antique Collection Studio and Huimo Hall over in the Imperial Capital Liulichang.”

Huo Sining nodded but said nothing, following behind Liao Song Zhong Zifan into the antique shop.

Upon entering, they were unexpectedly greeted by twenty to thirty customers browsing for items in the shop.

Huo Sining was immediately puzzled and instinctively glanced at Liao Song: ”Is this shop’s business always this good?”

Antique shops usually do business in such a way that ”three years without business, but one transaction feeds you for three years,” so whether in the Imperial Capital or Magic Capital, these shops were often relatively quiet. Even Huo Sining’s Jubao Pavilion in the Imperial Capital was no exception.

This was the first time Huo Sining had seen an antique shop doing such brisk business. Seeing the bustling scene in the shop, she was both surprised and puzzled.

Noticing her doubtful expression, Liao Song laughed:

”It’s just a promotional tactic. My friend is quite the trickster: to attract customers, they started an event years ago. Every Friday from 2 PM to 5 PM, customers can come and ’crash the place.’

Huo Sining raised an eyebrow, confused: ”Crash the place? What does that mean?”

Just as Liao Song was about to explain, a young shop assistant suddenly came up and interjected:

”The so-called ’crashing the place’ is actually about identifying forgeries. During this time, any customer who finds a forgery at Dexin Society will be rewarded at the store’s marked price for that item.”

Huo Sining was momentarily stunned, not expecting such audacity from Dexin Society. No wonder other antique shops were quiet, while this one was bustling with people—most likely, everyone browsing Antique Street during this time had come here.

Silently, Huo Sining mused that Liao Song’s friend seemed quite interesting.

The young assistant seemed to know Liao Song, and his manner was very attentive. After greeting Liao Song and understanding his purpose, he nodded and went upstairs to find the boss.

Less than a minute later, the assistant hurried back downstairs and apologized to Liao Song:

”President Liao, our Boss Tang asks you to wait a few minutes; he’s currently upstairs entertaining some guests. Please have a seat in the meantime.”

Liao Song nodded, and the assistant, who was quite accommodating, led the three to a nearby sofa in the waiting area and promptly went to prepare tea.

Meanwhile, Huo Sining’s gaze wandered around the shop.

The shop contained a lot of items, with many classical and modern paintings, a variety of porcelain and ornaments on the first floor, and numerous miscellaneous items categorized neatly. Judging by the setup, Liao Song wasn’t exaggerating; this shop seemed to be a well-established brand operating for decades.

Without touching them, Huo Sining glanced over the items on the curio shelf and could discern that some items were genuinely authentic.

It’s no wonder, as authenticity is crucial for antique shops, and any issue with their items could significantly affect their reputation.

The older the shop, the more it values credibility, so like the esteemed brands of Huimo Hall and Antique Collection Studio in the Imperial Capital, they either remain closed or, when doing business, won’t allow the slightest mistake.

Huimo Hall even has its own auction company and museum, backed by a strong expert team, and annually hires many reputable old experts domestically.

Of course, while Dexin Society is not small, it’s still a bit lacking in strength compared to Huimo Hall.

After drinking a cup of tea, Liao Song’s friend still hadn’t come down, and Huo Sining, feeling somewhat bored, instinctively wandered around the shop.

After inspecting the items on the curio shelf one by one, she unexpectedly discovered a forgery on a cabinet shelf.

Receiving forgeries in an antique shop is inevitable, and no appraiser can claim they’ll never make a mistake. Even her mentor, Zhou Shitao, a highly respected figure in the antique appraisal world, wouldn’t dare make such claims.

Therefore, discovering a forgery didn’t surprise Huo Sining much.

However, she wasn’t interested in the shop’s forgery-fighting activity; she simply explored the antiques out of boredom while sitting in the waiting area.

Moreover, she was accompanying Liao Song to see the National Treasure Jin Kui, so under such circumstances, it wouldn’t be right to actually disrupt things by identifying a forgery. If she did point it out, Liao Song’s friend might turn hostile, and they might not even bring out the National Treasure Jin Kui, which would be a big loss for her.

Thinking this way, Huo Sining kept her expression neutral and quietly moved to another area.

Her next move brought her to the classical furniture section, where several large antique furniture pieces caught her attention.

Her gaze landed on a pair of antique lamp stands, and she unconsciously moved slowly toward them.

This was a pair of high-end huanghuali wood lamp stands. The stands were about two meters tall, with lampshades intricately carved from huanghuali wood and inlaid with landscape designs. Both lamp stands were perfectly preserved and appeared to be rare examples of exquisite ancient lamp stands.
