Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1345: Chapter 1340: Invitation to a Gamble

Huo Sining was taken aback, then lightly smiled and asked, “Sir, do you know me?”

Li Jun immediately chuckled. He did not know that Huo Sining had met the two people behind him before, but because Li Jun often browsed domestic news and was particularly familiar with the domestic jewelry market, he had seen many reports about Huo Sining. He knew quite a bit about the Jade Queen, so upon seeing Huo Sining, he immediately recognized that this woman was currently the sensation sweeping through the Mainland of Huaxia.

“Although I live in America, I often watch news reports from Huaxia Country. Last year, I watched the Spring Festival Gala live stream too. I didn’t expect the Jade Queen’s magic performance to be so stunning!”

Li Jun spared no praise and his words revealed his admiration and curiosity for Huo Sining.

Upon hearing Li Jun call her the “Jade Queen” and mention her Spring Festival Gala magic performance, Huo Sining was initially surprised. She quickly understood that this Li Jun must have seen reports about her from domestic news.

Thinking of this, Huo Sining stood up and extended her right hand to Li Jun, openly admitting, “Young Director Li, nice to meet you, I’m Huo Sining.”

“I really didn’t expect to meet someone like you in my little teahouse.”

Li Jun wore a meaningful smile on his face as he said, “Miss Huo, are you here in the United States for the international treasure appraisal conference the day after tomorrow?”

Huo Sining smiled and nodded, “Young Director Li, you jest. I am no great figure, I’m just riding on a bit of luck.”

Li Jun did not linger on this topic and soon noticed the piece of jade with silver that Huo Sining had placed on the table. His eyes immediately sparkled with amazement. He quickly walked over, beaming as he asked, “Miss Huo, is this the jade you gained at the teahouse today?”

Li Jun had immediately taken a liking to Huo Sining’s piece of jade with silver. However, he knew very well that Huo Sining also ran a Jade Company, and given Jade Beauty’s strength and her company’s resources, Huo Sining surely wouldn’t want to sell such high-quality jade roughs.

Huo Sining didn’t rush him, allowing Li Jun to look as much as he wanted, after all, looking wouldn’t cost her anything.

After a long while, Li Jun reluctantly returned the piece of Nephrite Jadeite to Huo Sining.

At this moment, Huo Sining’s phone inconveniently rang, and from the other end came the anxious voice of Elder Zhu, an expert from the Forbidden City: “Huo girl, where are you all? Why is it so late and you still haven’t returned?”

Huo Sining replied with a smile, “Elder Zhu, please go ahead and have dinner with everyone first. We are currently in Chinatown and probably can’t make it back now.”

After hearing that Huo Sining was in Chinatown, Elder Zhu let out a sigh of relief and cautioned, “Alright, be careful you all, this isn’t like back home; you need to be more cautious.”

After hanging up the phone, Huo Sining was about to take her leave from Li Jun, but Li Jun suddenly asked, “Miss Huo, I wonder if you have time for a gamble with me?”

Gamble with him?

Huo Sining turned around and cast a peculiar look at Li Jun, “What does Young Director Li mean by this?”

Although the news in Huaxia had exaggeratedly hyped up Huo Sining’s story, Li Jun wouldn’t believe it without witnessing her skills first-hand.

In Li Jun’s view, these were probably just the media exaggerating the facts and spreading rumors.

He acknowledged that Huo Sining indeed had some skills in stone gambling, but he always felt that no matter how skilled this woman with the surname Huo was, she couldn’t possibly be as unbelievably skilled as rumored.

If he hadn’t seen Huo Sining, that would be one thing, but now that he had, how could he be satisfied without testing it himself?

Li Jun’s face held a half-smile, his eyes filled with intrigue and investigation: “Meeting Miss Huo by chance in Chinatown, we must have some fate.”

“They say Miss Huo’s ability to recognize jade is top-notch; back home, she’s consecutively defeated the Jade Princess and the Jade Gambling King. I, though unworthy, have rolled in the gambling stone field for over twenty years. Upon meeting Miss Huo today, I was inspired and wanted to take this opportunity to learn a thing or two from her.”

Could it be that Li Jun wanted to gamble stones with her? Suspicion flashed in Huo Sining’s eyes, “Young Director Li wants to gamble stones with me?”

Li Jun raised an eyebrow, a flicker of anger flashing in his eyes, “What, does Miss Huo think I’m not qualified?”

Huo Sining shook her head, “Young Director Li misunderstood me. If we’re to gamble stones, we need raw stones to gamble on, right? Could it be that Young Director Li wants to wager the batch of poor-quality goods in your courtyard? If that’s the case, there’s not much point.”

Huo Sining expressed her lack of interest in the batch of outdated bricks in the backyard warehouse. Li Jun, hearing this, laughed and proudly said:

“Of course, the raw stones are readily available, and the quality will certainly satisfy Miss Song. You can be assured of that.”

“Alright then, since Young Director Li suggested it, it’d be hypocritical of me to refuse. Since we are to gamble, there must be stakes involved. I wonder what Young Director Li wishes to wager on?”

If it were anything other than stone gambling, Huo Sining might have hesitated or been concerned, but when it came to stone gambling, she wasn’t boasting; there wasn’t a piece of raw material in the world she couldn’t fathom!

Since Li Jun was eagerly seeking a gamble, Huo Sining had nothing to fear!

Li Jun did not expect Huo Sining to agree so readily, which greatly improved his mood. He laughed and said:

“Miss Huo is indeed a straightforward person. In that case, I’ll get straight to the point. I’m aiming for your piece of Jade with Silver. If I win, perhaps Miss Huo could sell me this piece of jade rough. Of course, if I lose to Miss Huo, you can take both pieces of jade rough that we will gamble on later, what do you think?”

Huo Sining wasn’t foolish. If Li Jun’s raw material shop had poor-quality materials, what difference would it make if she took such a stake or not? Even if she won, carrying two worthless pieces back, she’d be at a loss, wouldn’t she?

Since it’s about stakes, it must be fair. The material must at least be comparable to her piece of Jade with Silver for the gamble to be interesting.

Therefore, Huo Sining didn’t immediately agree to Li Jun’s proposal. Instead, she said, “There’s no problem with betting against you, but I need to see the raw materials first before I can agree with you.”

Li Jun nodded with a smile, “Naturally.”

By this time, it was already late, and Huo Sining and her companions hadn’t had dinner yet. Fortunately, the Li Family Manor Teahouse also served dinner, so the six of them casually ordered a table of dishes in a private room.

Since it was a Chinese teahouse, the food was authentically Chinese, and since the dishes on the table were varied and catered to everyone’s tastes, Huo Sining was pleasantly surprised while her impression of Li Jun improved a bit.
