Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1327: Chapter 1322: All Are Counterfeits

Seeing this scene, Huo Sining was instantly taken aback.

Suddenly, as if she had thought of something, she quickly touched all the other porcelain inside and out.

Soon, she discovered, just like the Tri-Color Camel, those pieces of Blue and White Porcelain had an inconspicuous place on the inner wall marked with an identical ”Zhong” character in simplified script!

”It’s another simplified ’Zhong’ character?! Are these porcelain pieces from the same batch? Mass-produced?”

Huo Sining was shocked in her heart and instinctively raised her head to look at Huang Zhenlong.

Given the relationship between Huang Zhenlong and Zhou Shitao, this old gentleman should know that she and Zhou Shitao were secretly investigating the origins and sources of Zhong Fang, so why was this old curator now bringing out these Zhong Fang porcelain pieces? What was his intent?

Huo Sining was utterly puzzled, while at the same time, she was in complete awe of the person who was falsifying antiquities under the alias of Old Mr. Zhong.

In the world of antiques, forgeries also have different levels. Based on the authenticity level of the craftsmanship, they can be categorized into varying degrees of quality.

For this Tri-Color Camel, the technology and soil used were all according to the manufacturing process for Tri-Color Porcelain. Even professional instruments, when used to test carbon-14, might not be able to determine its authenticity. Without Huo Sining’s Heavenly Eye cheating, she would certainly have been fooled.

This batch of Blue and White Porcelain had diverse designs, and both the painting of patterns and the firing of glazes are extremely challenging to master.

Such perfect forgery workmanship was enough to prove that the creator of this batch of Blue and White Porcelain was definitely a master figure in the field of antique forgery.

After examining these items, Huo Sining’s expression remained unchanged as she returned to her seat.

Soon, the answer sheets were distributed, and Huo Sining unhesitatingly picked up the pen and wrote down the answer.

Very quickly, everyone submitted their answer sheets.

Just like in the morning, the answer sheets were scanned and projected onto the electronic screen.

Sure enough, many appraisers couldn’t determine the exact nature of that batch of porcelain. Various answers were given, but no one dared to write the answer Huo Sining had in her mind.

When the screen flipped to Huo Sining’s answer sheet, the bold and flamboyant handwriting made everyone present pause in their expressions.

Especially when they saw Huo Sining’s simple and straightforward answer, everyone was shocked with their mouths agape.

Ma Liwen couldn’t help but let out a cold, disdainful laugh when she saw Huo Sining’s answer sheet, sneering as he said:

”Hmph, they’re all fakes, and she’s not afraid of getting herself in trouble! That set of Tri-Color Camel with its vivid colors, rough clay body, and the off-white base glaze with a hint of yellow are a significant characteristic of Tang Dynasty Blue and White porcelain! There’s definitely a real set of such Tang Sancai Camel in the Forbidden City; it can’t be wrong!”

Ma Liwen was very confident in his answer, but he did not know the intense surprise and passion flashing in the eyes of the veteran experts Shi Qingyun and Zhuang Xiangyang after seeing Huo Sining’s answer sheet:

”My goodness, Old Huang, are you sure you didn’t take the wrong pieces?”

”I’m truly convinced this time. Everyone said Mr. Zhou had taken in a brilliant disciple, and I thought it was an exaggeration before. Now I have to admire it; where did Mr. Zhou find this prodigy? This girl’s eye for things is extraordinary!”

Even Huang Zhenlong couldn’t help but agree, smiling ruefully, as if regretful and sighing: ”There’s no way I took the wrong ones; those items have always been stored in my basement, and you all have seen them. Not just you, even I was surprised. If I had met such a person thirty years ago, this batch of porcelain wouldn’t have been left in my hands!”

Qin Lianshan breathed a sigh of relief and unconsciously smiled with satisfaction: ”The girl really is full of surprises, always giving unexpected delights. But to say Zhou Shitao is lucky, that’s wrong. Don’t forget, this girl won’t belong to the Zhou family in the future, she’ll belong to the Gu family. I’m telling you, it’s still the Gu family boy who’s got the real benefit!”

Huang Zhenlong paused for a moment, then burst into laughter: ”You’re right. That Gu family boy has a sharp eye. I initially heard he picked a village girl and was puzzled. But thinking back now, that boy understands life better than those of us who have lived for over half a century. To find that Huang family girl lost out there, who knows how many lifetimes of blessings that Gu family boy must have accumulated.”

After flipping through all the answers, the venue fell silent, everyone awaiting Huang Zhenlong to announce the correct answer.

Huang Zhenlong stood slowly, a faint smile on his face, recounting as if reminiscing about the past:

”Many people know I’m obsessed with antiques, scavenging through all the major antique markets in the Imperial Capital every week, especially antique porcelain. But in fact, thirty years ago, I had just reached my thirties when I first came into contact with porcelain. But my first encounter led to mistakes, and I paid a hefty tuition fee.”

”More than thirty years ago, I was assigned to take office in the Porcelain Capital, Jingdezhen, where I learned that the most renowned porcelain locally is Blue and White Porcelain. When I first went to the porcelain town to look at porcelain, I was captivated by the perfect craft of Blue and White Porcelain.”

”At that time, an old man told me that when buying antique porcelain, one should look, touch, and listen more. If it’s not the right time, don’t rush into it.”

”Even though I didn’t understand back then what ’not the right time’ meant, I followed the old man’s advice faithfully and didn’t buy any shards of porcelain for years.”

”Later, I felt I could distinguish between real and fake Blue and White Porcelain, so when leaving Jingdezhen, I decided to buy a set of porcelain as a souvenir.”

”Knowing my own limitations, I feared problems would arise if I chose porcelain alone, so I specially invited several seasoned experts to appraise and ensure the purchase was flawless.”

”That was my first transaction, and all my years of savings were spent on acquiring this expensive batch of Blue and White Porcelain.”

”This batch of porcelain played in my hands for several years and was viewed by many experts at my home, none of whom detected any issues.”

”Until one day, when the family’s housekeeper inadvertently broke a Wind-Listening Vase while tidying the study, and that’s when I discovered the problem with that batch of porcelain.”

If anyone present still didn’t understand what Huang Zhenlong meant at this point, they would truly be a fool.

This batch of Blue and White Porcelain turned out to be fake?

Everyone found it unbelievable, as these Blue and White Porcelain pieces appeared so authentic, leaving no traces of forgery.

Ma Liwen was dumbstruck, instinctually looking towards Huo Sining.

Because he remembered clearly that the answer submitted by this young girl matched Huang Zhenlong’s words precisely!
