Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1311: Chapter 1307: Zi Tao Pottery

However, Huo Sining felt that the pot seemed a bit off, and couldn’t help but squeeze in next to the pottery and stopped to say to the stall owner:

“Boss, could you please bring over that pitch-black pot on the side for me to take a look at?”

The stall owner was busy doing business with some foreign tourists and didn’t pay attention to which pot Huo Sining wanted. He was focused on earning extra money and had no interest in dealing with Huo Sining.

The people who come here are either locals from the Imperial Capital or tourists from other places. Foreign tourists can be fooled with a few words, but domestic tourists are very savvy, rarely spending big bucks on items from a stall.

Because Huo Sining’s accent was obviously not from the Imperial Capital, the boss naturally didn’t want to waste words on Huo Sining, so he waved his hand impatiently and said:

“You can take a look at whatever you want, as long as you don’t damage anything, feel free.”

These antique stalls are generally categorized, with genuine items and well-made replicas placed in front of the stall owner, lower-quality pieces placed on the outer parts, and the worst junk just piled carelessly in inconspicuous corners.

The pottery pot that caught Huo Sining’s eye was just such a junk item, placed in a corner, with a jumble of random objects piled up in front of it.

Seeing the owner’s impatient attitude, Huo Sining didn’t mind, and reached out to grab the pot.

As soon as Huo Sining held the ceramic pot in her hand, she was delighted as a familiar Spiritual Energy instantly filled her vision. Through her Heavenly Eye, she could see the pot surrounded by a concentrated purple mist.

There is Spiritual Energy, proving her intuition was right; this thing is genuine!

Only then did Huo Sining calm down, and began to closely observe the pot she held.

This is a large-bodied, narrow-mouthed pottery, about twenty centimeters high, entirely pitch black and smooth.

There are no decorations on the pottery, its shape resembling a smaller rural jar used for pickling vegetables.

The object is quite large, yet surprisingly light, weighing less than a pound despite its size.

Huo Sining reached inside the pot with her hand. The inner wall was very smooth, without any rough feel, further confirming Huo Sining’s suspicion.

“Ningning, why are you looking at this thing? Are you buying it to pickle vegetables?”

Su Anning saw Huo Sining examining such a pitch-black object thoroughly and couldn’t help but curiously take it over. She was surprised as soon as she held it:

“Wow, this thing is so light, is it made of tin?”

Huo Sining smirked at Su Anning.

Tin? Sister, you don’t need to be so ridiculous, this is authentic purple pottery from the Jin Dynasty!

Just when Huo Sining was feeling the inside of the purple pottery, she deliberately rubbed the inner wall hard with her fingers.

Soon, a layer of black grease was wiped off the delicate mud thin wall, leaving the inside clean and bright, vaguely exuding a slight purple tint.

Thin and smooth, translucent purple, are the main features of Jin Dynasty black pottery.

The pottery wall is extremely thin, somewhat like egg-shell porcelain. Although the entire pottery was fully concealed by black, Huo Sining could be sure that this jar is undoubtedly the famous Jin Dynasty purple pottery!

Typically, purple pottery doesn’t have glaze and can look dull if not wiped down, resembling items made to look antique.

Furthermore, this purple pottery had its appearance obscured by the Hidden Mist technique, and if Huo Sining hadn’t had the Heavenly Eye’s ability to determine its authenticity, she wouldn’t dare to conclude it’s purple pottery.

After all, the existing quantity of purple pottery is too scarce, and Huo Sining hadn’t expected such a thing to appear among the fake goods at Dashilar.

At this moment the stall owner had finally managed to deceive the foreigners, and a replica Qianlong Blue and White Peony Pattern Vase was sold for eighty thousand RMB. The stall owner took out an exquisite wooden box and handed the vase to the foreigner. With the money counted, the transaction was deemed clear.

The foreigner, feeling smug over the purchase, hurried away clutching the wooden box, completely unaware that the smiling stall owner was inwardly calling him a fool for spending eighty thousand on a few hundred RMB item.

After completing this big deal, the trader’s mood improved significantly, and he looked at Huo Sining’s group with a much friendlier face.

“How much is this item, sir?”

Seeing the young stall owner finally had time, Huo Sining took the chance to ask.

The stall owner glanced at the black pot in Huo Sining’s hand, subtly assessing the expression on her face before casually showing five fingers:

“Don’t be fooled by its appearance, this is an old Ming Dynasty piece. If you’re interested, I’ll give you a break, take it for five thousand.”

Upon hearing this, Huo Sining felt amused. Ming Dynasty? This thing is over a thousand years older than Emperor Taizu of Ming Zhu Yuanzhang! Clearly, this vendor couldn’t identify its origin and was making things up.

But even though Huo Sining knew the item’s origin in her heart, she wouldn’t foolishly reveal its history.

She was secretly thrilled inside but had to put on a disdainful expression outwardly.

“Five thousand? Sir, that’s too expensive. You’re asking five thousand for this pitch-black thing, who are you trying to fool? You managed to trick that foreigner with a replica just now, but we’re Mainland tourists, did you think we don’t understand your trade’s tricks? I only saw this piece because it has a rustic look, thinking maybe it could hold pickled vegetables or something; charging five thousand for this junk, that’s not right!”

Huo Sining feigned anger, deliberately speaking in a Bashu accent, causing the collectors around scouring for underpriced treasures to shoot disdainful looks.

Most of these treasure hunters are cultured individuals, often pride themselves on their refinement, especially those into collectibles, value elegance above all.

Antiques, after all, provide a gentleman’s pastime, a method for cultivating character often understood rather than spoken.

Huo Sining’s words instantly made the impression she didn’t understand antiques. Who would come to Dashilar to buy a pottery jar to pickles vegetables, isn’t that completely idiotic?

These collectors, overhearing Huo Sining’s remarks, naturally didn’t have a good impression of her, thinking this woman though beautiful, is unexpectedly vulgar, immediately feeling a sense of embarrassment being associated with Huo Sining.

Seeing Huo Sining start to walk away, the stall owner’s eyes twitched, and quickly stood up saying:

“Hey, miss don’t leave, I mean, I quoted a price, but you didn’t even bargain, how can business be done this way? If you genuinely want this jar, name a price, let’s discuss it properly, isn’t that better?”
