Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 678: Chapter 675 The Gambling King Has Arrived

If before Carlos and Danio simply regarded Huo Sining as a woman with formidable means, they now had to admit that this woman surnamed Huo was on par with the big guns of Las Vegas, and perhaps even slightly superior in gambling skills.

”She’s bluffing! This woman has set a trap!”

”She’s got another King, anyone who says she can’t count cards, I’ll take his surname! She’s as freakish as that foreigner!”

”I bet the next card is another King, three Kings against those two big fish’s pairs, she’s definitely going to win!”

”Yeah, if I had known she was this good, I would have bet on her, a seven-times payout, just think how much money that could make!”

...

It wasn’t just the spectators in the cabin causing a stir, the three Song Yexiang families were also nervously watching this round.

This was only the fifth hand, yet it had become the finale of the entire match, as all the chips of the three families were pooled together just because Huo Sining went all in, ratcheting up the tension of the whole situation.

With Huo Sining going for broke, Carlos and Danio naturally had no choice but to grit their teeth and follow suit.

”Brother, are those two Americans going to lose?!”

Xiang Fuxing, seeing the pair of Kings in Huo Sining’s hand, which actually weren’t much compared to Carlos’s three Jacks, realized that if Huo Sining truly had the skill to count cards, she might really secure a winning triplet of Kings!

”It’s not necessarily so. Carlos sits upstream from this woman, and if he decides to fold now, it could throw off the order of the next card. If she doesn’t get the King, she’ll lose!”

As Ye Rongbin spoke, he glanced towards the Xiang Brothers, his implication clear: if Carlos folds, the dealing order gets disrupted, Huo Sining won’t get the card she wants, and she’ll lose the round to Danio; the game would end, with the Ye family emerging as the biggest winners.

Xiang Zhenhua, a veteran of the gambling world, had naturally also thought of this scenario.

But the Xiang Brothers were here for the shares, who would simply give up the competition willingly?

Although they had formed an alliance with Ye Rongbin, when it came to the deciding moment of victory or defeat, the Xiang Brothers were uncertain of what choice to make.

It was like a deadlock; now that all three had staked all their chips, losing the game at this juncture meant the Xiang Brothers would have no access to the high seas casino for the next three years; they could only wait for the next opportunity.

No one wanted to give up, but not giving up meant losing the match. To break the impasse, sacrifices had to be made.

Ye Rongbin, of course, knew where the Xiang Brothers’ dilemma lay, and with a smile, he said, ”If the Ye family wins this match, we’ll split the acquired shares with the Xiang Family seventy to thirty.”

A seventy-thirty split was actually quite good for the Xiang Family, considering they had never received that much before. However, this time was different—for having invested so much effort in bringing in a heavyweight gambler, they naturally wanted a grand victory, how could they content themselves with just thirty percent?

”Sixty-forty! I won’t be ambitious for an even split, but if your Ye family gets the meat, we brothers must at least get the soup. If you can’t do that, then I’ll repeat what I’ve always said, ’I’d rather break in honor than bend in disgrace!’”

The look in Xiang Zhenhua’s eyes was frenzied; securing forty percent meant victory for the Xiang Family.

Ye Rongbin’s expression grew grave. He looked at the adamant Xiang Brothers several times, then at the tense situation on the floor, and had no choice but to nod in agreement:

”Fine, I agree, sixty-forty split! A Zheng, prepare the contract and also, inform the croupier in the hall that we are requesting a three-minute pause!”

These words acted like a shot of adrenaline for the Xiang Brothers. With forty percent of the high seas casino’s shares, they could make a fortune. Although Ye Rongbin was proud and arrogant, he was decisive in weighing pros and cons, without any dithering.

The Song Sisters were also nervously watching the situation unfold, and when Huo Sining got that K, joy immediately spread across their faces.

At this moment, due to a request from the Ye family, the game had been temporarily paused, giving the three players some time to think.

Just then, a staff member from the surveillance center walked in and gave Song Chaoying a bow.

”What’s going on?”

Ye Rongbin looked over and saw the Song Sisters hurrying out of the room, and couldn’t help but ask with curiosity.

A Zheng found out what was happening and quickly ran back, ”Young Master, it seems the Gambling King and the Fourth Lady have arrived!”

Ye Rongbin and the Xiang Brothers’ complexions changed dramatically; as juniors, they would have to show respect to the Gambling King even if they were reluctant to do so.

Even if the God of Gamblers Ye Han were present, he would have to be polite upon meeting the Gambling King.

”Let’s go and take a look too!” Ye Rongbin said quickly, and the three of them hurriedly followed suit.

They hadn’t even reached the stairs when they heard Song Chaojing’s loud, complaining voice rise,

”Daddy, Huo Sining is like a demon; she can remember every card so precisely. You didn’t see how those two Americans turned pale when they saw the club K!”

Sure enough, the Gambling King and the Fourth Lady were downstairs, patiently indulging their youngest daughter’s coquetry. The Fourth Lady looked at Song Chaojing with eyes full of doting, while the Gambling King and Song Chaoying stood by, smiling as they listened.

”Uncle Song, how come you’re here?”

Ye Rongbin approached and gave Song Lifeng a bow, fearing his manners were not sufficient; then he turned to the Fourth Lady and bowed deeply,

”The Fourth Lady has also come; I haven’t seen you in half a year and you’ve grown even younger. At first glance, I mistook you for a debutante from a noble family!”

The Fourth Lady’s smile was faint, but her tone was unusually warm, ”Young Master Ye, your tongue is sharper than even the God of Gamblers, and now you’ve grown bolder too, daring to tease even me. I’ll tell Ye Han about this tomorrow and have him properly discipline you, you cheeky monkey!”

The group chatted and laughed their way into the surveillance center, while Ye Rongbin and the others, feeling it inappropriate to linger, went to the side to wait quietly.

With the arrival of the Gambling King, the game couldn’t possibly be put on hold; three minutes passed quickly, and the croupier was already signaling at the table.

Naturally, someone from the Song Family reported the situation to Song Lifeng. After listening to the detailed progress of the match, his eyes suddenly lit up with a sharp glint as he watched the seemingly carefree, smiling woman on the screen, his emotions tinged with excitement.

The pause ended, and the game continued, everyone waiting for the croupier to deal the fifth card.

But just then, Carlos unexpectedly raised his hand to signal.

”I fold!”

Carlos was playing in place of the Xiang Brothers, and since they had gone all in, his choice to fold meant that the Xiang Brothers were withdrawing from the match.

However, this situation was not under Carlos’s control; as a representative, he had to follow the orders of the Xiang Brothers.

At the instant Carlos folded, Huo Sining’s expression changed subtly, and a flicker of irritation and frustration passed through her eyes.
