Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 664: Chapter 661: The Tampered Dice

Miss Song Chaojing felt that as long as she could beat Huo Sining, it would prove that Huo Sining’s gambling prowess was all just hype. With further humiliation, she could definitely force Huo Sining to back down.

Unfortunately, no matter how many cunning schemes the little princess of the Song Family concocted, she could never know that Huo Sining’s gambling didn’t rely on skill or psychological tactics, but on clairvoyance!

With the existence of such a heaven-defying cheating tool as the Heavenly Eye Skill, even the most formidable gambling techniques were completely transparent in front of Huo Sining, making them utterly ineffective.

Seeing Miss Song Chaojing’s unconvinced expression, Huo Sining found it quite amusing. Although this girl was somewhat spoiled, her directness was quite endearing.

”Alright, I’ll gamble with you.”

Following Song Chaoying out of the airport, they saw a row of luxury cars parked in the square. Among them, two were particularly eye-catching: a stretched Lincoln limousine and a sky-blue convertible Bugatti Veyron.

Without a doubt, these flashy cars were surely the handiwork of the Song Group.

Indeed, as the group emerged, drivers waiting by the cars hurriedly opened the doors.

Song Chaoying gestured towards Huo Sining with a smile, ”Miss Huo, please.”

Huo Sining didn’t put on airs and directly got into the car, with Gu Xu and others quickly following her in. The limousine’s interior was spacious like a small living room, complete with a hanging 21-inch LCD television and a small table, and even a refrigerator.

Just as Song Chaoying was about to signal the driver to close the door, Miss Song Chaojing, who had initially walked over to the Bugatti Veyron, tossed the car keys to a nearby staff member, grabbed a box from the car, and in three quick steps, leaped to the Lincoln’s front like a swift monkey, darting into the car.

Song Chaoying was torn between laughter and tears. Although the limousine was quite spacious and could accommodate a few more people, there was no need for everyone to cram into this one, right?

”Isn’t that car a birthday gift from the Fourth Lady as a reward? It’s only been a few days and you’re already sick of it? I thought you looked down on my car. Why not drive your nice car and instead squeeze in here with me?”

”Mind your own business. Is it wrong if I’m tired and don’t feel like driving? Not driving once won’t cost me a piece of flesh. I’ve asked your man to drive it back for me.”

Miss Song Chaojing wrinkled her nose at Song Chaoying, then turned around with a smile that was somewhat mischievous:

”Miss Huo, since we’re going to gamble, the sooner the better. I’ve brought my stake over. Let’s gamble right here in this car, what do you say?”

Miss Song Chaojing’s appearance was vastly different from Song Chaoying’s. With her melon-seed face, sparklingly large eyes, and delicate nose and mouth, she exuded the quiet, pure beauty of a Southern belle. Coupled with a slightly upturned mouth, her smile was as cunning as a fox yet still adorable and childlike.

Being the Gambling King’s youngest daughter, Miss Song Chaojing was doted on within the Song Group. Thus, she had developed such a personality—daring to love and hate, to act and speak, somewhat bratty but not annoying. Instead, she carried an air of adorable impertinence, much like the girl next door who loved to play coquettish and stubborn.

”Sure, what would Miss Song like to bet?”

Huo Sining wasn’t fussed, as this kind of thing was only human nature.

For such a significant gambling event, Song Xiaochen had entrusted it to her, a woman not even twenty years old, and the Song Family Members had no idea of her actual gambling abilities. Anyone in their position wouldn’t easily trust her.

Huo Sining decided that since she really had to gamble, she might as well show some real skill and thoroughly intimidate the Song Family Members. Having Song Chaoying and Song Chaojing as witnesses was perfect—this way, there wouldn’t be others who were ignorant of the facts trying to stir up trouble later on. She didn’t have the energy to deal with such nuisances.

Song Chaojing had no idea what Huo Sining was thinking as she shook the wooden box in her hand, hearing a clinking sound from within.

Huo Sining did not know what this young lady was up to and could only watch her with confusion.

”Miss Huo, what do you like to play?” Song Chaojing asked with a smile.

Huo Sining replied, ”I’m afraid Miss Song might laugh, but there’s few I know how to play. Either card games or dice, I’ve heard a bit about those. I’ve never touched anything else.”

Her words were true. Huo Sining had previously mentioned to Song Xiaochen that if it wasn’t for Song Xiaochen saying the bet this time was on Texas Hold’em, she would not have agreed at all.

For those gambling methods with which she was unfamiliar, even with the Heavenly Eye Skill, a rookie like her, no matter how exceptional, could not beat those veterans who had been immersed in gambling for years.

Song Chaojing listened with skepticism. Logically, someone brought in by Song Xiaochen, no matter how wrong, couldn’t possibly be a novice.

She took Huo Sining’s words as modesty, guessing that perhaps Huo Sining also knew some other forms but was most skilled with cards and dice.

”We’re pressed for time. Blackjack is too troublesome, and we won’t waste time on those elaborate gimmicks. How about we bet on dice? I’ve collected quite a few sets of dice here, pick a pair,” Song Chaojing suggested.

Song Chaojing opened the box she held in her hands, took out a black dice cup and a base, then sat opposite Huo Sining at the table, pushing the box towards Huo Sining to indicate she should pick a pair of dice.

Six separate compartments held dice made of different materials, three in each compartment, for a total of eighteen. There were crystal, rosewood, mica, white jade, agate, and even a set carved from ivory.

The dice all looked very exquisite; it seemed Song Chaojing had a habit of collecting gambling tools.

Huo Sining initially thought to just pick any pair, but as she was choosing, she caught a glimpse of Song Chaojing’s eyes fixed on her hand out of the corner of her eye, with a hint of nervousness and guilt.

A thought struck Huo Sining: Nervousness and guilt? What was Song Chaojing worried about?

With that thought, Huo Sining covered the dice with her right hand, exploring each in turn, pretending to be amazed as she gently brushed over them.

Soon, the true nature of these sets of dice was revealed under the Heavenly Eye.

Except for the set made of white jade, there was something added inside all the other dice.

Some were hollow with varying densities, their center of gravity not in the middle of the dice.

Some dice had metal chips inside, clearly signal receivers, Song Chaojing probably had a remote control that could change the dice numbers.

Seeing the peculiar things inside those dice, Huo Sining could not help but find it amusing; it seemed Song Chaojing was shrewd enough to want to tamper with the dice.

Song Chaojing’s methods were actually very common in casinos; tampering with dice allowed the casino to control the flow of significant capital. It was not surprising Song Chaojing had such things.

If it had been an ordinary person, they might have fallen into Song Chaojing’s trap. Unfortunately for her, Song Chaojing could never have imagined that she was dealing with Huo Sining.
