Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 673: Chapter 670: The Confusing Card Game

Not just Lei Dongcheng, but Balkovi too had the same feeling.

Balkovi had initially looked down on the young Oriental woman sitting opposite him, a woman who could calmly call and raise bets without even revealing her pocket cards, as if possessed by a reckless madness.

But it was precisely because of this that even a frantically fast player like Quick-Hand Fish had to adopt a temporarily yielding stance.

Compared with Huo Sining’s initial two opponents, Madam Ru Yan seemed to be faring much better, but actually, she wasn’t doing much better at all.

In dozens of hands, Madam Ru Yan had folded nearly every one.

This was a typical tight play strategy; of course, there were also instances of sneaky moves, but those were rare.

The playing style of a tight player is steady; they seldom engage in things they aren’t sure of.

After folding dozens of hands, her chips were dwindling.

This constant folding was not unusual; for tight players, the earlier folds weren’t critical. Once they had a strong hand, they would seize the opportunity to strike, and with just one good hand, they could completely turn the game around.

On the seventeenth hand, as soon as the croupier had dealt three cards, Huo Sining’s eyelids quickly drooped, hiding a sudden flash in her eyes, and a subtle, almost imperceptible, smile curled at the corner of her mouth.

Madam Ru Yan peeked at her hole cards and felt an immense thrill upon seeing the card.

Her pocket card was the ace of hearts, coupled with the ace of diamonds on the board, two aces!

Lei Dongcheng and Ball, after looking at their hole cards, seemed to let out sighs of relief as well.

Because Madam Ru Yan had the highest face-up ace, she had to call first.

Madam Ru Yan called two hundred thousand; Balkovi and Lei Dongcheng behind her both followed with two hundred thousand. When it was Huo Sining’s turn to speak, since she hadn’t looked at her pocket cards, she just called the minimum blind.

Madam Ru Yan stealthily gauged the expressions of the other two players, but unfortunately, she couldn’t discern anything from their faces, while she herself wore a smile of unfamiliarity.

As Madam Ruyan and Huo Sining didn’t fold, Lei Dongcheng and Ball both showed a hint of caution in their eyes.

But with the croupier dealing the third card, they completely relaxed, abandoning their previous caution and began to raise their bets progressively.

Throughout the game, Huo Sining never once looked at her pocket cards; she continued to call bets.

This situation had occurred in the sixteen hands prior; Huo Sining’s brazen action of not looking at pocket cards had intimidated the three at the table, leading them to eventually not dare to call.

But in fact, after the reveal in several previous instances, Huo Sining’s hand was actually weaker than those who had folded.

It was precisely for this reason that Lei Dongcheng and the others let down their guard, not knowing the content of Huo Sining’s hand, but confident in the strength of their own cards.

Huo Sining didn’t even reveal her cards; if a woman could exhibit such audacity, why should they fear when holding strong cards?

What Huo Sining wanted was exactly this effect. In fact, as soon as the croupier had dealt the cards, she had already used Heavenly Eye to fully scan the hands of the other three players, not overlooking the remaining cards in front of the croupier.

After seeing the cards, Huo Sining realized this was an opportunity, a chance to completely clear out the three opponents.

Therefore, Huo Sining deliberately didn’t reveal her cards, luring the players step by step into the trap.

The chips kept piling up, and the faces of several players began to show signs of tension.

Everyone knew that this hand would determine the victory or defeat.

If they lost, they would face elimination, but this was not the scenario they wanted to see. It was only the first match, and the losers would have to leave; no one wanted to be the one eliminated.

When the Croupier dealt the fourth card to each player, those in the surveillance center and the cabin gaped at the sight of the players’ cards.

Madam Ru Yan’s hand had a pair of 8s and a pair of Aces; Balkovi’s cards were two Kings and two 4s.

If this had been any of the previous hands, such a hand would mean an all-in, surely a winning move.

Keep in mind, in all-in poker, the chance of getting a high-card hand is actually much higher than any other type of hand.

But now, the two were evenly matched, and the most important thing was to get the fifth card.

If this fifth card allowed one of them to make three of a kind, then that person would have a full house.

A full house is determined by the three of a kind, and although it’s not as strong as a straight flush or a straight, it’s much stronger than a single pair or two pairs.

Even though Madam Ru Yan had two Aces, if Balkovi got another King, she still couldn’t win against him, even if she got three 8s.

This hand would’ve been peculiar enough, but compared to the two pairs of Madam Ru Yan and Balkovi, Lei Dongcheng’s cards were even more bizarre.

His hole card was the nine of clubs, but, astonishingly, his upcards included three other numerical cards, specifically the 6, 7, and 8.

Although it wasn’t a flush, if Lei Dongcheng got a 5 or a 10, he would end up with a straight.

This meant that even though Lei Dongcheng’s hand was smaller, his chances of winning were actually greater than those of Madam Ru Yan and Balkovi.

But the people in the surveillance center remained silent, as their hearts were clenched tightly.

It wasn’t just Madam Ru Yan and the two others who were at the table; there was one person they had overlooked: Huo Sining, who hadn’t flipped his card yet!

Although Huo Sining hadn’t revealed his hand, it didn’t mean the people in the surveillance center couldn’t see it.

This was by design; the casino tables were made with special materials. The players couldn’t see the undercards pressed against the table, but the surveillance center screens displayed each contestant’s hole cards clearly.

Therefore, in the surveillance center, all the spectators could see Huo Sining’s upcards and hole card clearly.

Before the Croupier dealt the fourth card, the visible cards of Huo Sining were the Jack of Diamonds and the Queen of Spades, but her hole card was none other than the Queen of Hearts!

What shocked everyone in the surveillance center and the cabin even more, to the point of disbelief, was that when the fourth card was dealt, Huo Sining received another Queen of Diamonds!

With that, Huo Sining had already made three Queens. If, in the next card, the other three players didn’t get the cards they wanted, then it was destined that Huo Sining would be the final victor of this round.

However, the upcards indicated that with Madam Ru Yan’s pair of Aces, Balkovi’s two pair of Kings, Lei Dongcheng’s almost-straight, and Huo Sining’s pair of Queens, Huo Sining’s cards were actually the weakest.

Such a devilishly deceptive and puzzling round left everyone in the surveillance center utterly astounded.
